Interesting mix of taxidermy. In a not too creepy way.

Ok, call me charmed. This place isn't a five star hotel. It's not exceptionally fancy or opulent. It's not the sort of place you get spoiled in. But what it lacks in wow factor, it more then makes up for in good old fashioned service. I popped up to this little in for the Enchanted Forest just a few days ago. After a quick (but up hill) trek from the main road, I arrived at this pretty little inn. From personally getting walked up to the room, to the quick tour of the place with where to spot breakfast and a short rundown of the pub, I knew I was in good hands. This place is basic, but the price is exceptionally reasonable and the rooms are quaint and clean. Where it really stands out is with it's little pub - a spot that made me exceptionally homesick for my maritime home. I'm not sure what got me most - that there were four gents plunked next to the bar that immediately started chatting with me about Prince songs, to the lovely dog flaked out under the bar or the four taps of house made brew, "made out back" that were surprisingly tasty - there's a lot going for this little haunt. But perhaps the kicker and what will get me back if I ever pop through again was the French Onion Soup and homemade apple pie on the menu. Heaven is french onion soup with a dark ale, and pie for dessert. It's really one of the most lovely ways to spend an evening. So colour me charmed. I had a sip of the local distillery's whisky and I dare say it's enough to get me back to this place for a proper tour - and when I do, I will happily stay here again. A lovely surprise for a very reasonable price!

Great wee Pub & Restaurant, but DEFINITELY NOT the best pub in Scotland, i have no idea why the Lonely Planet came to that decision?

We chose this hotel on a recent Pitlochry and enchanted forrest trip. It's location is ideal. You…read moreare only a wee walk from all the main street shops but are still able to enjoy silence. The booking went easy enough. I called them and we got a room for 3-4 people. The price being around the £150 mark. You can also book online although I think its cheaper if you call. The interior of it's public places and rooms are a bit outdated, but if this is not a turn off for you, the hotel is comfy and convenient enough to stay in. There were a few families and groups. The main reception does not appear to be manned all night, but in all honesty Pitlochry is not the place to party until the early hours. The night porter was really friendly, stopping and telling us ghost stories. Check out the third floor. Supposedly it is haunted! The bar closed around 11, but considering the amount of people in the lounge and bar area, they decided to reopen the bar. Good for us. You get the typical drinks. Beer, wine, whisky, gin tonic and so on. They don't serve many craft beers. Our place was a suite outside the hotel in a separate Victorian house. One double bedroom and one twin. Large bathroom. Again, outdated, but for 1 or 2 nights ok. You will also be able to enjoy the pool, sauna and spa, adjoining the hotel. We decided to dine somewhere else, as the reviews were not great. Having said this, the breakfast was not bad. We got the choice between Scottish or continental breaksfast and other items from the breakfast menu. I chose porched eggs on toast. Sadly, no taste and not even the toast bread could make up for it. Other fellow travelers were satisfied with their breakfast choices. The staff was friendly enough throughout the stay. Would I go back there? Yes I would.

The hotel is very central and everything there is to see in Pitlochry (the high street, festival…read moretheatre, fish ladder, dam, etc) is within easy walking distance. Our room itself was fine with a double bed and a twin bed, small table and chairs. It was advertised as free wifi throughout the hotel but we found we could only get it in the hallway by the door in our room. Not ideal but not awful. The leisure facilities were great with a pool, hot tub, sauna and steam room. It was nice to come back from a day of sight seeing and have a soak and a schwitz. There is a "restaurant" on site but I'd say it is more of a dining room. Unless it is included I wouldn't worry about eating there. It's not bad but it's not great if you catch my drift. For a Crerar hotel I was a bit disappointed if I'm honest but I will bring those things up with the hotel. Free parking on site as well as two bars.

I think it's worth going into the wee village for dinner rather than drive back four or five miles to their partner hotel. Breakfast is also quite basic but it's available on site.

The room was very comfortable with more than enough space to accommodate my mobility scooter and the bathroom with roll in shower was also very roomy with all the accessories I required. The standard of cleanliness was impeccable. The Management and staff making us feel very welcome from the instant we arrived, coming out to advise us the best way to park the car, so that access to and from the car for myself and also for my scooter was not compromised. Actually Chetan parked the car for me. He also ensured that the space for my car was always available when we returned from whatever trip we had been on. The room was exceptionally clean and comfortable. Nothing was too much trouble for the staff. We had our evening meal, in the restaurant, on the first night. My friend and I have different dietary requirements and the staff were so knowledgeable about their menu that they were able to advise us what we could eat. The meal was great. Breakfast each morning was also adapted for our requirements. As already stated nothing was too much trouble for the staff. All accommodations for Covid restrictions are applied, so felt we were safe staying there. I cannot recommend this hotel highly enough. The hotel is only a 5 min walk from the town centre, however, it is a steep hill so a car would be required for anyone with mobility issues. Amisha & Chetan definitely know how to make you feel welcome and feel that you will certainly return for another visit. I definitely will be going back.
