The bathroom was the same. Great water pressure in the shower-- only critique is that I wished there was more airflow in the bathroom. I had to keep my shower door slightly cracked open because I couldn't breathe with the steam building up. Food was excellent, dinner and breakfast! Nice bar with a good selection of beer on tap. The wild venison with currant sauce was delicious! I'm inspired to recreate this dish at home, as my husband and I do eat a lot of game. The Balmoral chicken was also very good. The sticky toffee pudding was out of this world! Breakfast was also fantastic. You won't go hungry here, and their Scottish breakfast is one of the best around. Wish we could've stayed here longer. We had a room, not a cabin, and it was clean and comfortable, albeit a bit small. The wi-fi signal in our part of the building was terrible. The front desk attendant suggested we have dinner at the hotel because they said it was "very good", so sure, why not. I went to take a menu off the counter and they said, "No! That one's from yesterday. Let me get you tonight's menu." Any place that changes their menu daily? SIGN ME UP. The dinner was fabulous, particularly the duck and chicken liver pate with onion marmalade. The service on the other hand was a little strange. The woman we assumed was the manager/supervisor was really cold and unfriendly, which we further assumed was causing her subordinates to be unfriendly, as well. It didn't impact our experience all that much, thankfully, but it could've been better.

There were several A-frame units, not crowded but part of the landscaped forest area. Units varied in size - ours had 3 beds upstairs. 2 baths. Heating was a bit tricky, and available in all rooms. The maintenance guy came over "to help us get it sorted"... another words - turn it on. Ha! Big puffy down blankets kept us warm, it's cold at night here (June). Big hotel with rooms to rent on the property. They had play areas, kids video and play areas too. Pool had really weird hours. Apparently it was disinfected every few hours or some such nonsense AND you had to make an appointment for available times (in mid-day). I think that would have been fun but didn't use it. An area outside with growling moving Dino's... large enough to be fun for kids... a surprise for us! We loved the extensive trail system and the ruins of a local castle on a tiny island in the lake. Trails are well marked. People were nice, staff was helpful. Area was pretty and quiet. Centrally located. Great transit system; we made appointments to see local attractions via trains / bus - gotta get the timing right and pay ahead. Note: there are stiff fines for cars traveling inside Edinburgh and London- check on this before you drive!

We stayed in one of the A-frame cabins on the property. It was about a ten minute walk to the main hotel building, which we were okay with as there were families with children running all around the main hotel building. The cabins were perfect for four of us who wanted to sleep, read and catch up with each other. Cabins are well laid out and nicely furnished. The Hilton Coylumbridge is outside of Aviemore by a little less than a mile. That meant any meals with alcohol in Aviemore meant one of us had to be a designated driver. We did take advantage of the on-site restaurant our last night, so all four of us were able to eat, drink and be merry. We will be back.

When they could not fit…read moreour family in at the B&B Inn for our whole stay they suggested we take a family room in the bunk house for one of our nights. So having taken a family of four to both Ill give you some tips. They are both lovely ways to stay but if you want your kids close and safe while still having a door between you for alone time with your partner stay in the inn. If you plan to make your own meals to save money stay in the bunkhouse. But even if you choose the bunkhouse it's worth paying for a breakfast in the Inn.

I have had way worster experiences and I feel like these reviews are more for the hotel itself rather than just the restaurant itself so I do want to be somewhat fair. With all that being said... I can't confidently recommend the restaurant here. The Caesar salad was literally the only thing that was somewhat edible. I had been in Scotland for almost a week at this point and it was also the first time that I had ever been charged for water. That was something I kinda wished they would have mentioned to us if they were going to do that. That's not cool man. It really comes off as shady. For food I ordered the Seafood Risotto and there was practically no flavor. When I asked my friends how they felt about their dishes, it was unanimous around the table. Maybe the chef just quit the night before and they were trying to make do with what they have and know? It's just weird right? You see the pictures and see how cool The Inch looks inside and out and just figure if they have a restaurant that it's going to have at least "some" form of quality to the food. But there was none to be found unfortunately and you are left just feeling like this place is a tourist trap. So yea can't recommend the food here. Then again it is a small area. Maybe that's just all the people know? It'd be really sad if that was actually the case. My only hope is that the staying there for the night is an actual 5 star experience.

When we checked in the lovely girl came outside to greet us. It was the sweetest hotel check in ever!! Our room was lovely. There's a huge living room with a fireplace that they lit downstairs. That was my favorite place to hang out. There was also chairs outside overlooking the lake and it was so quiet and peaceful at night. And there's a little hike behind the hotels to the waterfall. It was absolutely beautiful and peaceful. The food in the restaurant was superior. They rent out the whole place for weddings and I'm trying to talk my best friend into getting married there it was so great.

I would definitely stay here again. It is also family friendly and has an indoor pool and hot tub. It is great in terms of location to the town and other things to do: Royal Lochnagar Distillery, and Balmoral. The only downside was the shower was fairly tight, but common in the UK.

What a great lodge / manor house atmosphere with beautiful large rooms that are well appointed and in exceptional condition. Service throughout the resort was top notch and the restaurant and bar areas were great as well. The bed was very comfortable and the shower was wonderful. Really the only negative is the slightly limited parking near the main building but everything else was perfect!
