We had initially booked a room with 2 twin beds, just because it was cheaper, but just on the off-chance we could switch, asked for a double room. There was one available, so we were allowed to switch with no hassle whatsoever. The only problem inside the hotel was that the sign pointing to the block of rooms where ours was, was backwards, so we wandered around lost for a few minutes before figuring it out. There is no parking lot, but if you stay here, you're allowed to park at their sister hotel's lot, which is just around the corner. Breakfast is included with the room tariff, but we didn't get up early enough to take advantage of it.

We stoped in the adjoining pub for a pint and a pizza, and met a wonderful Scottish couple there, who were gifted a birthday weekend stay by their son. Well done! Stayed on Friday, 7/7/19.

The booking went easy enough. I called them and we got a room for 3-4 people. The price being around the £150 mark. You can also book online although I think its cheaper if you call. The interior of it's public places and rooms are a bit outdated, but if this is not a turn off for you, the hotel is comfy and convenient enough to stay in. There were a few families and groups. The main reception does not appear to be manned all night, but in all honesty Pitlochry is not the place to party until the early hours. The night porter was really friendly, stopping and telling us ghost stories. Check out the third floor. Supposedly it is haunted! The bar closed around 11, but considering the amount of people in the lounge and bar area, they decided to reopen the bar. Good for us. You get the typical drinks. Beer, wine, whisky, gin tonic and so on. They don't serve many craft beers. Our place was a suite outside the hotel in a separate Victorian house. One double bedroom and one twin. Large bathroom. Again, outdated, but for 1 or 2 nights ok. You will also be able to enjoy the pool, sauna and spa, adjoining the hotel. We decided to dine somewhere else, as the reviews were not great. Having said this, the breakfast was not bad. We got the choice between Scottish or continental breaksfast and other items from the breakfast menu. I chose porched eggs on toast. Sadly, no taste and not even the toast bread could make up for it. Other fellow travelers were satisfied with their breakfast choices. The staff was friendly enough throughout the stay. Would I go back there? Yes I would.

Our room itself was fine with a double bed and a twin bed, small table and chairs. It was advertised as free wifi throughout the hotel but we found we could only get it in the hallway by the door in our room. Not ideal but not awful. The leisure facilities were great with a pool, hot tub, sauna and steam room. It was nice to come back from a day of sight seeing and have a soak and a schwitz. There is a "restaurant" on site but I'd say it is more of a dining room. Unless it is included I wouldn't worry about eating there. It's not bad but it's not great if you catch my drift. For a Crerar hotel I was a bit disappointed if I'm honest but I will bring those things up with the hotel. Free parking on site as well as two bars.

The accommodations are comfortable and the food is good, but the house made ales and atmosphere are how they earn their 4th and 5th star in my book. The restaurant has a nice ambiance with two wood fireplaces going. The squash soup was really good (well spiced). The braised onion soup was also very good. I'd also recommend the 'Haggis, Neeps & Tatties' (Haggis, mashed potatoes and mashed turnips) all with a nice gravy. We've never had Haggis before and all enjoyed it. It's like a peppered meat loaf. I like that they have flights of beer available, so you can try 3 different local brews from tap at one time. We also had the 'bread & butter pudding' which was satisfactory (not great but good). We loved the open fire smell. All was moderately priced.

The room was very comfortable with more than enough space to accommodate my mobility scooter and the bathroom with roll in shower was also very roomy with all the accessories I required. The standard of cleanliness was impeccable. The Management and staff making us feel very welcome from the instant we arrived, coming out to advise us the best way to park the car, so that access to and from the car for myself and also for my scooter was not compromised. Actually Chetan parked the car for me. He also ensured that the space for my car was always available when we returned from whatever trip we had been on. The room was exceptionally clean and comfortable. Nothing was too much trouble for the staff. We had our evening meal, in the restaurant, on the first night. My friend and I have different dietary requirements and the staff were so knowledgeable about their menu that they were able to advise us what we could eat. The meal was great. Breakfast each morning was also adapted for our requirements. As already stated nothing was too much trouble for the staff. All accommodations for Covid restrictions are applied, so felt we were safe staying there. I cannot recommend this hotel highly enough. The hotel is only a 5 min walk from the town centre, however, it is a steep hill so a car would be required for anyone with mobility issues. Amisha & Chetan definitely know how to make you feel welcome and feel that you will certainly return for another visit. I definitely will be going back.

The host is a nice lady and it was a real pleasure for me to be her guest. She prepared us delicious breakfast in the morning and made up the rooms later on during the day. I enjoyed my two stays at Kinnaird Country House and I wouldn't hesitate to stay again there if I was required to visit Pitlochry for a third time.
