A basic hotel in the heart of Perth, perfect for travelers making their way through the area. It's close to the bus station and train station and close enough to the down town area, within walking distance to everything.
My boyfriend and I stayed here one of the two nights we were in Perth for my birthday and it was nice enough. An older building, it could use a bit of an update, but was completely jammed packed with tour bus patrons and wedding parties.
Our room was cozy, and the window opened up all the way, which was nice as the weather in Perth was a dream compared to what we had been used to in Glasgow.
There is an old lift in the hotel, which we avoided, but took the stairs to get to and from our room. There is a workout area, that caters to the people staying at the hotel, but also, they offer memberships to people who just want to work out. Most of the equipment was probably made before I was born, but it got the job done. They also have an indoor pool, sauna and steam room, which we also used. It was nice to be out all day, then come back, workout and sit in the sauna to relax.
Breakfast left a bit to be desired. By the time we came down for breakfast, the tour bus worth of people had cleared the place out and left the poor staff spinning in confusion of what had just happened. There was nothing left to eat, and we had to wait a bit for more stuff to be brought out. The fry up was tasty.
All in all, it seems like most hotels in the downtown Perth area are a bit tired and in need of a good refurb, but that's also what made this trip memorable and enjoyable. It's all in the company you're in, I suppose, and his company always makes my life that much better. read more
