So, I read about Black Dining Days and was encouraged to travel a little outside of my usual spot. Oh YUM. My husband and I had the special. Now, I have to say that the ribs were different, good, but different. I thought they had more of a roasted flavor and texture. They were fall off the bone tender. I didn't care for the slaw, I LOVED the banana pudding. Seriously it is the best in Memphis. I'm glad I "traveled beyond the Parkways" to check out a new place. I think I learned about this place in a group forum. I looked them up and ordered take out for the hubby to pick up for our lunch. Omg this place is delicious! I wanted to try Ball Hoggerz since it was listed as one of the participants in MBRW (Memphis Black Restaurant Week). We ordered two BBQ Sampler plates via UberEats (it came with 2 ribs, pulled chicken, pulled turkey and one chicken wing). The ribs were fall off the bone and the sauce was tangy and a perfect addition to the BBQ itself. And the portions of meat in the sampler were so generous that neither one of us were able to finish the whole thing. I also got a side of spaghetti and it had the exactly right amount of spice. Small place but they are packing a punch on the inside! My standard at any BBQ joint is the pulled pork sandwich, it was good but would appreciate a warm bun. The grilled corn is EVERYTHING!
