Taste: I heard her mention the name "Chris" when some customers excitedly ask about the name of the cook. Well! Chris deserved the recognition especially that day because everything was so good. Often times, Memphis BBQ spots have similar models but not this one. It has a pleasantly unique taste. Also, I found out that they make their own bbq sauces in house. My family tried the BBQ Spaghetti, brisket, beans, & corn nuggets. They were all on point! Cost: 9/10 Typical for a BBQ spot Ambience: 10/10 The atmosphere made you feel like family. They were having a car show outside when I visited. That was an added bonus for my experience. We will definitely visit Ty's again and We will make sure to tip Chris for making our bellies smile!

The meal was a solid 9/10 If you're in Memphis and you want some good BBQ made with heart and soul, then you should try Elwood's. Started with their take on a charcuterie board- Sausage, peperjack and chedder cheeses, with pepperchinis for the table. It was a smack of smoke and meat that made me scream YES on the inside. It was also enough to share with 5 other people. For my main I ordered the dry bologna sandwich which basically meas a seasoned bologna with turnip greens and coleslaw. Delicious!! The sandwich was a nostalgic treat of which I added mustard and by the waitresses suggestion... the coleslaw. Not everyone offers this item and it did not disappoint on that soft bun and slightly caramelized edges. The greens were good ole country goodness. Traditional taste, seasoned well with meat. Also tried a rib and smoked chicken wing. The rib was good, but I've had better. It didn't fall off the bone like I'm used to and without sauce it tasted pretty bland. The chicken wing was absolutely scrumptious. It had a bold smoke flavor, tender, juicy, seasoned well and cooked perfectly. I'll be back for those. Sweet Tea is freshly brewed and was good. Banana pudding is homemade and was also very good. Service was kind, prompt and attentive. Pricing was ok...seems everything is going up nowadays. Not the worst, not the best. Ambiance was clean and typical of most BBQ joints. Appreciated the fact that they had a wash area OUTSIDE of the bathroom. A vibe that sends the message of 'roll up your sleeves and dive in, this meal is gonna be messy' and I was there for it. Keeping this place on my list the next time I'm in the area.
