For the past 3 years, my bf has surprised me with Baklava Bar for Valentine's Day, and it has officially become my favorite tradition. Hands down, this is the best baklava I have ever had. The layers are perfectly flaky, the sweetness is balanced (never overpowering, always delectable), the walnuts & pistachios are always fresh & generous. Every bite tastes high quality and made with care. Im obsessed. Presentation is stunning -- the heartshaped boxes (special requested) with glitter make it such a beautiful and thoughtful gift -- and they deliver straight to my door, which makes it even more special.I Love how well it stays fresh. I get to enjoy it for weeks, and it's just as delicious as day one. If you're in Glendale (or anywhere nearby) Baklava Bar is a MUST. Whether it's for Valentine's Day, a gift, or just to treat yourself -- 1000% recommend. PS. Money not included (that was part of my Valentine's Day gift) read more

This is amazing baklava! Other baklavas that I have had in the past were too honey-soaked, so it wasn't really a dessert I sought out. A colleague at work, John, kindly brought in some boxes for us and it really surprised me. The pastry was crispy and flavorful. I loved the nuts on top and the whole thing was delightful and not overwhelming. I love that these are homemade and fresh, as you can tell the quality is there, unlike store-bought or mass-produced batches. I'm considering ordering for any pot lucks I'll go to in the future. I would definitely recommend this to people, even if you think you are not into baklava, you need to try it! read more

Honestly the best Baklava I've had. Reminds me so much of my Armenian grandmother's baklava. I've never had anything close to it until I tried Baklava Bar. This is real authentic baklava. The filo is flakey. The melted sugar soaks in for the perfect amount of sweetness. The nuts are crunchy. The presentation is beautiful, as each piece is wrapped perfectly. It tastes amazingly fresh even several days after I brought it home. Everyone who tried it, loved it. I won't need to make homemade baklava anymore because I finally found a place that makes it homemade for me! read more

Holy Baklava! These baklavas are out of this world! On my pick up in Glendale, I got to meet Avo and the amazing family behind this business and I soon learned that there was real heart behind this catering company. The phyllo is perfect, not overdone and not underdone, and retains the sweetness of the nuts well. The honey syrup was very well calculated. It was just the right amount for me, but I usually like my sweet things sweeter. The nut filling was aromatic, but I definitely will be trying the decadent chocolate filling next time for more flavor. Bravo Avo, I wish you a booming business. I will be seeing Shylo + friends again soon, and this time I'm definitely getting more than one box! read more
