The flavor that I got was their German chocolate cake. Coconuts and pecans between layers of rich chocolate made for a memorable birthday. Although the cake is on the pricier side with a half-sheet costing about $96, the richness and decadence of the final product is worth every penny. I can't say enough how amazing it was. I have been baking from scratch for nearly 30 years and I am a complete snob when it comes to chocolate cakes. Baking Grace (Just Desserts) makes he BEST chocolate cake I have ever tasted in my entire life! The "chocolate silk" cake is appropriately named, as each bite is chocolates, silky heaven in your mouth. It is moist an sweet (but not too sweet) and rich (but not "death by chocolate" rich). They have found the perfect balance of chocolate and created the ideal chocolate cake. I have ordered this cake for every birthday since discovering how incredible it is. Ordered a carrot cake for my daughters birthday party. The location is clean and friendly. The cake itself was delicious, presentation and decoration on the cake were very good. But, back to the cake itself, it was moist and very well made. It tasted homemade, not too sugary or sweet. The price was very reasonable . I do not typically write reviews but this place TRULY deserves it. First off they really only sell cakes and cupcakes so if looking for other bakery items this is not the place for you. BUT if you are looking for a cake or cupcakes and choose another bake shop just stop where you are and punch yourself in the face. The cupcakes are all amazing but personal favorite is the chocolate cupcake with peanut butter filling. I am a vanilla guy but WOW.... I have tried cakes from many if not most of the bakeries and Bergen county and this place destroys all others. You can order a custom cake as little as 2 hours in advance and they will actually appreciate you as a customer.... They have rotating flavors and they are all amazing. Very very very moist, fresh and delish! A moist red velvet is hard to come by but this was perfection! For my birthday this year we ordered a large Carrot Cake - OMG!!!!!! It is the most perfect, moist, chock-full carrot cake I've ever had. I brought the left overs into work and EVERYONE raved (keep in mind I work in a bread bakery with a bunch of bakers!!!) I ordered a 10" Chocolate Silk Cake for my wife's birthday. It was soo delicious!! Cake was fresh, the icing was rich and chocolatey without being dense or heavy (almost like a ganache but thicker). Not overly sweet. It was really perfect!! I will be ordering more from Baking Grace! Note: Don't leave it out of the refrigerator too long. It's great room temperature, but the icing is so fresh it will start to fall a little off the cake. Not a big deal, but just a note. Great job Baking Grace!! I ordered a 1/4 sheet chocolate silk cake for my parent's 60th birthday party and despite the guests claiming to be very full, they gobbled up the cake! Just Desserts advised the 1/2 to be enough for 25 people so it was fitting for our guest list of 22 people. We had a couple leftover slices to enjoy the next day. The cake was moist, fluffy, and the icing was the silky and sweet to perfection. Just Desserts also made it very easy for us as they accommodated our request for delivering down the street to the restaurant we were hosting our party. We've used this bakery a couple of times for birthday cakes and they were absolutely amazing and I'll will probably return for their chocolate cake. Thats why I'm giving them 3 stars ....BUT recently I order a cake for my SIL babyshower and boy what a disappointment. I got a half sheet cake with Bavarian cream and fresh strawberries. I told the woman I wanted blue icing since it was for Its a boy babyshower....she said yeah no problem. She even suggested that I put flowers on the cake so it will be prettier. The day the cake got pick up a day before the shower since the store is close on Sundays and the shower was on a Sunday I paid $107 dollars for a cake that was barely decorated. It had six Yellow flowers and Yellow writing !! I had to run to shop rite all the way in Lodi nj since we were at Stony hill in Hackensack. What an inconvenience. I had to buy flowers any blue crystal sprinkles in order to fix the cake. After the cake was cut and the waitstaff handed it to us. It was more disappointing. There was barely and strawberries. The only good thing was the cake was really moist. I was told by my MIL and SIL and multiple guest in the party I would had gotten a better cake at shop rite lol read more

I stopped in here because I needed dessert quickly for an impromptu dinner with friends. It was very close to their closing time on a Saturday. I bought six cupcakes. They were all great. They got rave reviews from my friends and their kids. They were a little more expensive than I have been used to buying but they aren't small and they seem more "gourmet" then your average cupcake. They're a little difficult to find, so I passed it three times before I found it, but I did make it in! I was having a crazy day, I couldn't find my credit card, and was generally frazzled.
