The only reason to go here...is for lack of a better option. And that's what they've been coasting off of for a while now. The girls who work there, I know they are in high school, but clueless comes to mind. No focus, one time they couldn't make any grill sandwiches, constantly out of certain bagels, coolers don't work etc. They are overpriced and just not even that great. I consider myself a bagel connoisseur and this place just doesn't cut it. read more

The bagels are nothing to rave about really, but if you're close by it's a good spot to grab a quick breakfast. The ham, egg and cheese was a little light on the fillings but still tasted good. They have other food besides bagels to choose from as well. The place is pretty much run by teenagers so I wouldn't expect phenomenal customer service but they were nice kids. read more

Don't get me wrong, Bakin' Bagels is usually a go-to breakfast sandwich spot... However, NOT wearing masks while prepping & cooking food is bothersome. Not only has it been discussed by Murphy every day since this started, it's just common courtesy amidst what's going on. Disappointed. read more

I would give them 0 stars for the unpleasant woman at the register, cold bagels and McDonald's hash browns. $4 for 3 slices of pork roll, $2 for a terrible hash brown. The Ortley store is far better, I would shutter this location, because it's nothing short of terrible. read more

Probably the worst bagel store experience of my life. I asked for a chicken sandwich, they forgot the tomatoes. And the chicken cutlet served to me was actually a rock. Inedible and expensive. I will never ever recommend this place to anyone and actually think that they should be closed. Go to the next bagel store. I remembered this place being decent growing up, but the last two times I've been there, it was nothing short of awful. The bagels are fine, if that's all you want. Asked for a toasted buttered bagel, to which the not - so - friendly girl at the counter replied "Oh we don't toast anything here, we don't have a toaster." WHAT? You're a friggen bagel place and you don't have a toaster!? Color me baffled. This place has gotten consistently dirtier and crappier, yet more expensive over the years. I will probably not return. I'm pretty sure they're just banking on the fact that they're the only option around, because they do absolutely nothing to encourage you to return. read more

Definitely nothing to write home about or go out of your way for but considering it's half a block from our beach house, it does the trick. Their bagels were fresh and tasty and they had a decent variety of them, as well as cream cheeses. However, my friend and I both got bagel breakfast sandwiches and they were a bit scanty. I got an egg and provolone on a whole wheat bagel and it was like one egg, a bit of cheese and a LOT of bagel. I prefer a smaller bagel with more egg and a bit of cheese. My friend got an egg and bacon sandwich and he had the same too little egg and too much bagel problem. I'll probably go back as it is convenient but not because I can't wait to have their food. read more

Wow. This place was terrible. Bugs were flying on the bagels, All 3 bacon egg and cheeses I got had uncooked bacon, and a burnt egg. This was a terrible experience and do not recommend coming here. Also no AC inside waiting way too long for a bagel. read more

This place has good bagels and cream cheese. But The credit card machine was broken the entire last week in August through Labor Day weekend. There  was "cash only" sign apologizing for the inconvenience (with the word inconvenience spelled horribly wrong). When I asked the manager why the machine was broken for a week,  he said they couldn't get anyone to fix it.. A lame excuse. They just did not want to fix it because summer was winding down. When I went to buy bagels and a small container of plain cream cheese, they only had the large one, which cost almost 7 dollars. And I could not use my credit card. The next time I visited I ordered  an overpriced egg and cheese sandwich. The cook wasn't using plastic gloves until I said something. Isn't that the law? The girl behind the counter got defensive saying, "he just washed his hands" when I asked him to put on gloves. I'm a local homeowner who wants to patronize local businesses but if their credit card machine isn't working that's a big turn off to customers.  I think I may be crossing this place off my list. read more

I live right around the corner from this place but I hesitate to go because you never know what you're going to get. They run out of things constantly (for example this morning there were no poppy or sesame bagels left at 9am). What really gets me is they don't toast your bagel unless you specifically ask. And even if you do ask if there are more than a few people in line they will refuse to do it to save themselves time. To me there is a BIG difference between a toasted bagel and an untoasted one. They really need to add one or two staff members to speed up their service and just get rid of this no-toasting policy. However, if you hit it right and they have what you want and the line is short enough, the bagels and sandwiches are decent. You're just taking your chances... Also this place DOES NOT sell pizza. I don't know why they have that on the name. It's only bagels, sandwiches, and wraps. read more

wow...what a dump. Dirty...like a mess. Mold in the refrigerators. Dirty rags all over the place. Seriously...have some respect for yourself if not for your customers! and what do you get for this? Bakin bagels is now under new management. Cleaner than ever before and such nice staff. On slow days they will even toast a bagel for me on the grill. They even expanded the menu to include all my favorite Italian foods such as chicken cutlets, broccoli rabe, and long hots. Definitely going to keep visiting here this summer. read more
