I have come to Bakey multiple times, and they have been consistently amazing. I have tried their chocobanana pecan babka, pistachio babka, tiramisu babka, broissant, potato bureka, cheese stick, sourdough, and salmon lox bagel. My favorite items are their pistachio babka and cheese sticks. My least favorite was the chocobanana pecan babka and the broissant. They tasted alright but lackluster compared to the others. The potato bureka was also just alright as I found the filling a bit boring. The pistachio babka is flakey and soft while not overwhelmingly sweet. The tiramisu babka was not bad. I enjoyed how the cream was not too sweet but found the texture fluffier and drier in comparison to the pistachio babka. The cheese sticks can be a bit salty, but I enjoy them as a nice and savory snack. The salmon lox bagel was not bad. All the ingredients tasted fresh and light. The sourdough was amazing. I used it to make my sandwiches and found the quality superb. Service was great as it was fast and speedy. I would love to come back when I am in the area again! read more

If I lived closer to Bakey, it would be a dangerous place for me. I absolutely adore this bakery because there is not one bad item here. Located on Harvard Ave, you can take a brief walk from the C line or take the 66. There are also plenty of street parking. There's plenty of tables and seats for a person to come here and study/ work. I've been here a couple times and have not been disappointed. I love their almond babka the best as it's full of almond flavor and just super soft and perfect to have. Their cheese sticks are also really good, but can be greasy. They're sticks of bread that have gooey parmesan. I've also tried their strawberry babka and that is good, but gets a bit soggy the next day. There are so many options but I'm sure that there is no bad choice here. Not sure if they still have the deal going on but they offer $3 lattes with a purchase of a pastry. They offer alternative milks and flavoring which is super exciting! For the low price of $3.50, you really cannot beat that!! The taste was not compromised by price. Still creamy, sweet, and strong espresso. Overall, one of my new favorite bakeries in the Brookline area. I highly recommend people coming here. Your pastries also don't go stale the next day which I love! They also offer other items like smoked salmon and bagels. Definitely stop by this location or the one by DTC! read more

All I wanted was a cup of hot coffee (with cream) on a miserably cold day. The coffee was cold. I was told it that it was cold because I added too much cream. I asked to have it warmed up and the fellow who was helping me got pissed off and added so much steamed milk that the coffee was undrinkable. I tossed it out. Ambiance was fine. Courtesy was absent. Coffee taste amazing! It's hard to find a good cafe when your from Europe. Not everyone's coffee is delicious. I can highly recommend the coffee from bakey. Also the staff is so friendly. Loved this place! We came for the sweet pastries but left obsessed with the savory ones. We got the cheese stick, potato, spinach and cheese bourekas and they were incredible and still warm from the oven. So flakey and light! So fresh as well- you can see them bringing new stuff out every couple of minutes. For sweet we got the almond and chocolate babka. Both delicious! I will say the chocolate babka is very cinnamon-y and the chocolate is like dark chocolate. The almond was moist and flaky. Coffee was fresh and delicious as well. Never tried babka until today! I was really disappointed that they ran out of chocolate babka, but the Raspberry Babka was pretty good. I also enjoyed the goat cheese croissant. Right when I thought Coolidge Corner was lacking some more local cafes and coffeeshops, Bakey opened up! I love their babkas and their unique flavors you can get with them. There are both savory and sweet options but I personally enjoy their savory options slightly more. They gave this babka with roasted peppers and eggplant and it lowkey tastes like a pizza. This one and the cheese sticks are my favorite. The best is when they come out freshly from the oven. I also appreciate how there is a discount on coffee if you purchase a babka. I had known I liked bakey from the Boston Commons location, and am so happy they opened up in Coolidge Corner (even though I am moving soon). I love myself a good babka, and this place is the real deal. It's nothing complicated- get yourself their chocolate babka, and you'll be handsomely rewarded with rich chocolate filling (think they use a mixture of chocolate chips and Nutella) and decadent, flakey pastry. Just not a fan at all. The workers are not nice humans. Treat kids like trash. It's Brookline, ya kids are going to come too. Was kicked out for being there longer than 30 minutes. I've been there many times before and not been told that. The lady who I was asked to move for told me, "this isn't a study hall, it's a restaurant." I don't think she realized that there were multiple people with computers/notebooks out but okay. Anyways, if you're looking for a coffee shop to do work and enjoy drinks/treats, don't go to this one. I've been to a lot of bakeries and cafes in Boston, and this one is my new favorite. It is sooooooo good. So far I've had the grab-and-go lox bagel, raspberry babka, and a matcha latte, all of which were incredible. The lox bagel is cheaper than most overpriced "lox sandwiches" in other Boston cafes, and the quality of the lox is the best I've had in Boston (they use Boston Smoked Fish Co. lox which don't have that fishy salty flavor that many of the lox at other places have). I am a babka concert after having Bakey's chocolate babka. It was still warm! I don't think cold babka can even compare. The old lady in front of me said hello to each of the counter staff like they were her grandsons and each of them returned the warm greeting.
