What a cool spot! You walk in and immediately are greeted by a cold case of cake which look awesome! Then you get to grab ur own tray and tongs to gather all your items. From there they have so many options of sweet and savory pastries. They also have another cold case with desserts and a full hot food kitchen. The boba bar was awesome and we tried a couple different ones. Very clean inside and nice outdoor seating space as well. They play a lot of girl pop that just fits the vibe of the place as well. read more

The vibe inside is super nice and the staff was super friendly and informative The egg tarts are a must have and were my favorite thing by far !! We also got the wonton soup, which was not terrible but just kinda bland. It also came out alarmingly fast which makes me think they might just microwave it or something. The drinks were a bit on the sweeter side and I couldn't drink the whole thing sadly. The red bean cookie was so dry and basically inedible which was a bit of a disappointment as well. Still, I'm determined to come back and try better dishes than I got, so I recommend people to try a variety of different items here ! read more

First time here, and the place was very busy. We had a variety of appetizers such as potstickers, soup dumplings, sushimi in different flavors. We also had the popcorn chicken and some wonton soup. The food was good, but I've had better. We all sampled a variety of items. The popcorn chicken was the least favorite as it was so overdone. It was as hard as a rock, and very dry. It may have been because they were busy, but you could see once it was set on the table that it was way overcooked. We also try to variety of desserts. The favorite was the Japanese cheesecake and the almond biscotti. out of five of us only two or three chose these. The rest of us did not like the other desserts so it's just a matter of taste. I know a lot of people really like this place and that's great. I'm not opposed to going back and trying some other things but it is not my favorite as of now I wish it great success. read more

When you walk in, you see a sign to queue and pay, so I was confused at first. Do you pay then get the food at the bakery or vice versa? I observed to see what everyone was doing, which was a mix. If you want baked goods that are on the side, get them first and then pay. If you are ordering strictly from the menu, then queue and pay. After I paid, I realized I missed a bunch of cakes and sweets because they were to the right of the register that I paid at. I got the sliced sausage bun with green onions and cheese, red bean bun, gold cake and a taro milk tea with boba. Many baked goods were already gone by late afternoon so go early if you're looking for these. The sausage bun's dough had a very slight sweetness to it so combined with the savory sausage, cheese and onions made for a delicious treat. I also liked the red bean bun because it wasn't sweet. The gold cake tasted like pound cake with light frosting, but it wasn't anything spectacular. The positives about the taro milk tea are that they use real taro! This is rare because most places use the powder. I also liked that I could choose the sugar (0%) and ice content (50%), but I think they should have the option for 25% and 75% because they only had 0, 50 and 100%. One of the reasons for docking a star was that the boba was not fresh. They were too hard in the middle so not impressed with that add on, especially because you pay extra for it. read more

These legends welcomed our whole crew with zero wait like it was just another Tuesday--talk about VIP service. Now let's talk food. First up, the tofu and veggie stir-fry--a glorious mix of crispy tofu cubes with perfectly sautéed broccoli, carrots, and bok choy in a savory brown sauce that hugged every bite like a warm hug from a Chinese grandma. The beef with broccoli? Tender, flavorful, and bathed in rich umami goodness. Honestly, if I could bottle that sauce, I'd put it on everything--maybe even my cereal (don't judge). The Honey Walnut Shrimp was love at first crunch. Perfectly crispy shrimp in a creamy, sweet glaze topped with candied walnuts and nestled on a bed of fresh steamed broccoli. This dish was the Beyoncé of the table--everyone wanted a piece. Those crispy, golden Shrimp Ball Fritters? Imagine a crunchy sea urchin made of joy. Light, airy, and addictive--basically the potato chip of appetizers. The pan-fried dumplings were thick, juicy, and had the perfect crispy sear. No sad, soggy dumplings here. Then came the crispy duck--dark, rich, and bursting with deep roasted flavor. It had that satisfying crunch you want, and the meat melted in your mouth. A must for meat lovers. But the real MVP? Those soup dumplings. Steamy little flavor bombs that explode in your mouth like a culinary fireworks show. Served in their own mini tins like royalty--juicy, delicate, and impossible to eat just one. The table went silent the second they landed. That's how you know it's real. Bakery 1908 is a modern bakery and café that combines traditional Asian baked goods with drinks, dim sum items, and casual café seating. We walked into a clean and welcoming space with a wide display of pastries, buns, and savory options, making it feel like a place where you can stop for a quick snack, grab a drink, or sit down for a longer visit. The display cases are well organized, and the variety of items on offer immediately gives the sense that this is more than just a standard bakery. The biggest highlight is the variety of baked goods. Bakery 1908 offers a mix of sweet and savory pastries, including buns, rolls, egg tarts, and specialty creations that go beyond a typical bakery selection. The pastries we tried were fresh, and there was a good balance between traditional flavors and more modern options. Items like the taro bun, chicken curry bun, and other filled pastries stood out because they offered more flavor variety than standard bakery items. The taro bun had a smooth, lightly sweet filling that paired well with the soft bread, while the chicken curry bun offered a savory, aromatic contrast. The egg tarts were also worth ordering, with a flaky crust and a custard center that stayed smooth and well set. Beyond pastries, the menu also includes dim sum-style items, dumplings, steamed buns, and other small bites, which makes the bakery feel more like a café and casual restaurant. We ordered a few savory options and found they helped balance out the sweeter items, making it a better choice if you want something more filling. The dumplings came out hot and well made, and the steamed buns had a light, fluffy texture that held up well against the fillings. The drink menu is another strong point, with options like bubble tea, fruit teas, and coffee that pair well with the food. We tried a couple of drinks and found them well prepared, with the fruit teas offering a refreshing contrast to the richer pastries. The atmosphere is one of the reasons the bakery works well as a hangout spot. The space is clean, comfortable, and has both indoor and outdoor seating. We noticed a mix of people working, meeting friends, and taking a break, and the energy of the room stayed relaxed throughout our visit. The seating is spread out enough that it does not feel crowded, and the natural light from the windows adds to the welcoming feel. Service is also a positive part of the experience, with staff being generally friendly and helpful. They were patient with questions about the menu and offered recommendations without being pushy. The main thing to consider is that the popularity can mean a steady flow of customers, especially during busy times. Some items may also sell out depending on the time of day, so visiting earlier can give you the best selection. We noticed that the display cases were fullest in the morning, and a few items were gone by the afternoon. Bakery 1908 is a great option for anyone looking for more than just a traditional bakery. The combination of fresh pastries, dim sum, drinks, and a comfortable café environment makes it a versatile spot for breakfast, a snack, or a casual meal. It stands out because it offers both familiar favorites and more unique Asian-inspired bakery items in one place, making it a destination that rewards exploration and repeat visits. read more

Bakery 1908 is a vibrant gem in Colonialtown that effortlessly blends bustling energy with thoughtful flavor. The space is bright, spacious, and impeccably clean, making it just as inviting to sit and enjoy as it is to grab something to go. From their drink menu, they offer hot or iced lattes, cappuccinos, and refreshing frappes, with optional flavors like hazelnut, mocha, and matcha (plus an almond milk substitute if you prefer). They have bubble teas such as creamy Ube and Brown Sugar Milk Tea with boba to playful Cotton Candy Milk Tea and Thai Milk Tea. If you're craving something lighter, their fruit tea and slush selection from Signature Fruit Tea to Lychee Mango, and even Piña Colada Slush. During our visit, we enjoyed a Matcha Latte, a Black Sesame Latte, and a Lychee Mango Tea. Each one was spot on. The matcha was earthy and smooth, the black sesame rich and nutty, and the lychee mango tea light, fruity, and incredibly refreshing. Bakery 1908 also has a full kitchen menu offering savory dishes beyond pastries and drinks. We didn't get to try the hot food this time, but we did pick up some pastries and cakes to go. We'll definitely be back to try some of their kitchen dishes next time. Service is friendly and upbeat, with helpful staff guiding you through the pastry cases. Title: Disappointing Experience at Bakery 1908 Review: My visit to Bakery 1908 was unfortunately a letdown, particularly due to the subpar quality of the pastries. The much-anticipated matcha crepe lacked the distinct, earthy flavor one would expect from matcha, resulting in a bland taste that left much to be desired. To make matters worse, the Japanese cheesecake failed to meet expectations as well. Rather than the light, fluffy, and creamy texture characteristic of a true Japanese cheesecake, this version was dense and spongy, leaving me disappointed. The egg tart, typically a beloved treat, was a disaster. Not only did it lack the rich, custard-like filling that makes egg tarts so delectable, but it also emitted an unpleasant, fishy odor that was entirely off-putting. In summary, the lack of flavor in the matcha crepe, the misrepresented Japanese cheesecake, and the unappetizing egg tart led to a disappointing experience at Bakery 1908. It's difficult to recommend this establishment to others seeking authentic and delicious pastries based on my visit. read more

After enjoying a lovely brunch today, I visited the 1908 Bakery. I found the parking lot to be quite crowded, with limited spaces available for parking. However, I was lucky enough to find one parking spot. As soon as I entered the bakery, I was struck by the trendy decor and the bakery souvenirs on display. The prices were quite reasonable, and I especially loved the bag of almond cookies I purchased. The quantity was generous, and it could easily be shared among friends. I decided to try out two puff pastries - one curry and one BBQ - for lunch during my workday. At $3 each, they were a great deal, as I usually spend around $15-20 per meal when eating out for lunch. Although disappointed that the bakery didn't offer iced green tea with salted cheese, I got my fix at Happy Lemon across the street. This was a great decision, as it was less crowded, and I could even bring my furry friend SantaPaws with me. Overall, I had a positive experience, and I would recommend visiting the 1908 Bakery. read more

I can honestly say it never disappoints! From the moment you walk in, the aroma of fresh bread and pastries immediately makes you feel at home. Their croissants are perfectly flaky, the muffins are soft and flavorful, and the breads have that incredible fresh-from-the-oven taste you can't find anywhere else. The staff is always friendly and welcoming, making every visit a pleasant experience. I also love how they rotate their specials--there's always something new to try, and it's always delicious. I recently visited the new bakery, and it was a delightful experience. The variety of sweet buns is impressive, and the limited hot food menu packs a mighty punch. The coffee and boba selection is fantastic, although the only non-dairy milk option is soy. The brown sugar boba and caramel iced latte with soy milk were highlights, and the pineapple sweet bun is a must-try. However, the matcha bun was a bit too sweet for my taste. The diverse selection, including the lemon bun, oreo swirl creation, and classic cinnamon bun, ensures there's something for everyone. Come early to ensure you get the buns you're looking for! The service was great! The ambiance is so chill and very picture worthy! Enjoy! read more

I recently visited Bakery 1908, and I must say, it exceeded my expectations in every way. The interior is so lovely, the wall mural really brought the space to life. We tried their tofu dish, and it was absolutely delicious - flavorful and perfectly cooked. And don't even get me started on their boba tea! It was beyond yummy, with just the right balance of sweetness and flavor. What really stole the show was their pastries. Each one looks like it was crafted with care and precision, resulting in a top-notch taste experience. Overall, I can't recommend Bakery 1908 enough. This bakery has an incredible selection of options, and every single one I tried was bursting with flavor! The best time to visit is definitely in the morning, as that's when all the freshly baked goods are available. You can really taste the freshness in everything, and it's clear that they put a lot of care into their baking. I also had the caramel iced latte, and it was absolutely delicious - the perfect balance of sweetness and coffee. Highly recommend this place for anyone looking for a tasty, fresh breakfast or treat! Service was awesome, the employees at the register are super sweet, just like their treats. And the vibe inside is definitely very calming and soothing. read more

Bakery 1908 is such a charming spot! We stopped in initially for their pastries, which are absolutely delicious fresh, flavorful, and beautifully made. But we also decided to try their lunch menu, and it did not disappoint! The sandwiches were thoughtfully prepared with fresh ingredients, and the portions were just right. The staff was super friendly and made us feel right at home, which added to the overall experience. The only reason for four stars is that I'd love to see a few more savory options on both the lunch and pastry menu. That said, it's definitely a place I'd recommend for a casual lunch or a sweet treat. We'll be back for sure! read more

Bakery 1908 is such a cute little gem in Orlando! Everything was fresh, beautifully presented, and absolutely delicious. You can tell they put a lot of care into what they make, and the flavors were just as good as they looked. The pastries and baked goods were the perfect balance of sweet without being overly sugary, and everything tasted fresh and high quality. This place is cool. It used to be an old asian restaurant but now it's a hip and cheque bakery with yummy offerings. I only wished that they are able to heat up the buns as some other asian bakeries that I've been to provide that additional service to freshen up the buns and snacks. I also wished that they had more outlets. The place would be a nice study spot but there aren't enough outlets around. Maybe they do that intentionally so that more patrons can have seating too. read more

The food here is fantastic! The interior is surprisingly spacious. I love the dedicated dessert and pastry section to the left as you enter, along with a great selection of dumplings and soups. They offer both indoor and outdoor seating, and the service is impressively fast. It's a wonderful spot for casual dining. My only minor complaint is that the music was a bit loud, making it hard to hear your order number. But overall, the food makes it well worth it! read more

However, they have plenty of outdoor seating that's perfect for hanging out with friends on a Sunday morning. Literally one of my favorite spots. Thank you Buttermilk for being THAT girl.

I have been a Buttermilk Bakery fan for well over a decade. Until this last weekend…read more I got online at 8:15 in the morning to place my order. Each item that I selected came up with a message that read, "Our store is not currently accepting orders." I tried again a few minutes later. Then again. And again. And again. I tried to call and received a voicemail that stated a different number. At 8:50am, the option to order seemed to be back up and running. I ordered five items, including the Roasted Tomatoes & Goat Cheese Quiche. For context: I live 45 minutes away from Buttermilk Bakery. It used to be on my way to work but, as of a few years ago, that is not the case anymore. So, it is now a special occasion destination. Reserved only for weekends when I can make the trip. More context: I have been raving to one of my closet friends for years about how much I love this place. My most emphatic musings have been about the quiche. Today, since she and I were planning an afternoon poolside, I thought that I would surprise her with an assortment of Viennoiserie and other items. At 10:36am, I received a call from Buttermilk. The woman on the phone informed me that they had run out of the quiche. How?!? Once the website was working, I was able to place my order quickly and the item didn't even read, "Low stock." I know that this is a small problem in a world full of large problems, but the thing that really set me off is that when I arrived at the store, the person in line in front of me asked for the Strawberry Buttermilk Pie. He was told that they were out of stock. He was pleasant in stating that there appeared to be slices in the refrigerator case. The girl behind the register told him that they were being held for online orders. When it was my turn, I stated that no one had held my slice of quiche. She blandly said, "I am sorry," and proceeded. I then stated that I was unhappy and had driven some distance. She asked if I would like something else. I responded that the person on the phone had simply told me that I would receive a refund. I then asked for the girl to check on my refund. She said it was not processed yet. So, I said that I would wait. She needed to ask for help to process the refund. She wasn't nasty to me, but she did not care one iota. My effort and subsequent inconvenience meant nothing. I wonder if my refund would even have been processed had I not asked. My friend and I thought the pastries that we received were fine, but she is fitness-minded and was hesitant to indulge in so many carbs without the rich protein that the quiche would have provided. And, yet, more context: This happened once before. With the quiche. Maybe a year ago. Though, that time, I believe it was a butternut squash quiche. My husband needed to be in the area, so he suggested that he pick-up at Buttermilk. When he arrived, he was told that there would be no quiche. No call. No nothing. He didn't think to ask for a refund and we never received one. That time, I simply thought, "Well, accidents happen." This time, I think that I received very shoddy service. I felt very disrespected. I felt unseen. I have loved this place, but I am so disappointed.
