We'll talk about it later anyway Stacks is it. The Grub : We ordered the Hot Honey Chicken & Waffles, which at about $21 is the most expensive item on the menu. That said, it comes with your choice of bacon or sausage and eggs, so considering Bakersfield prices, I actually think it's a pretty good value. The chicken and waffles themselves were very good. My only complaint was that I wish they had gone a little lighter on the hot honey. There was so much poured over the waffle that it became slightly soggy before I really had a chance to taste how crispy the waffle was supposed to be. Even though it was mostly soggy, it was still very tasty. The chicken was probably about two strips cut into thirds, which made it look like there was more chicken than there actually was. It definitely wasn't a huge portion of chicken, but it was enough to fill me up. We also ordered the Chicken Fried Steak, which my friend -- whose brunch I bought that day -- described in his own words as "not very good, but good enough to eat." My wife has had CFS at our go to restaurant and loves it, but she didn't like this version. I thought the gravy was a bit salty and carried the steak. My son said his sandwich tasted like the oil was bad coming from the griddle. The country potatoes tasted like the oil was bad they were fried in and the biscuit I had was horrible. It didn't even look like a biscuit, was dry, not flaky and tasted like fish. I definitely won't be going back.
