Our consultant, Daphne, was a great listener and thoughtfully evaluated our situation and concerns (light filtering vs black out for an upstairs guest room with high windows and skylights. Our concerns were insulation/energy for this project). She measured using a laser system which is fast and extremely accurate. She also brought her own ladders. We looked at my wall colors and she gave me her opinion as I was on the fence. Within a few days, Daphne sent a detailed quotation including several options as I wasn't sure which way to go. The quotation included information on the lifetime warranty, US-made product, and Costco Shop Card (which is truly awesome!) We made our decisions on color and styles and were able to pay/place order online. Daphne came back out as soon as the blinds were received and even managed to squeeze us in despite the busy holiday season. I should mention Daphne was personable, efficient, and extremely professional as I remembered her and her meticulous attention to detail when she installed blinds for several projects at our previous home. Extremely Disappointing Service and Zero Accountability…read more I had a very frustrating experience with this auto windshield company. I was charged for what I was told was a higher-quality, more expensive windshield, but they installed what appeared to be a generic one instead. Within just a few days, the glass cracked. When I reached out, I was repeatedly told someone would call me back, but no one ever followed through. After several attempts, the last person I spoke with told me I would have to pay full price for a replacement--despite the fact that the windshield had just been installed and failed almost immediately. I was also told that "all windshields are identical" and that no brand or manufacturer is better than another, even going so far as to claim that Gorilla Glass is just generic glass with a label on it. This made me feel like they weren't being transparent about the product I actually paid for. Overall, they refused to stand behind their work, didn't honor what they originally told me, and were extremely hard to reach once problems came up. Based on my experience, I cannot recommend this company at all.

When estimate appointments are made the homeowner has to rearrange their schedule to meet the estimator, as well. Somewhere around 2:00 p.m. after we had heard nothing back, I called Precision Painting. A male answered the phone. I explained that an appointment had been made for 9:00 a.m. , that no one had shown up, and we had left a message on his voicemail, at 9:30 a.m., there was silence in response. After saying "Are you there?" a couple of times, there was a dial tone. Then, at about 2:22 p.m. I received a text asking if I receive texts. I replied, yes. He sent a message that 'Ok sorry my phone is not letting me talk or hear.' Yet, when I had called him he responded to my speaking and I heard him speaking. He sent another text 'I got caught up on a job... and wasn't able to call.' then asked if we could reschedule. All this made me feel uncomfortable about hiring this company for a job, so I politely responded "no thank you." to which he responded, about an hour later, 'Stop wasting my time' The whole experience was highly unprofessional.

We went with James Hardie fiber cement siding, Anderson windows and sliding doors, Trex decking with RDI metal railing on two decks and the front porch, and a Codel front door. From the very beginning phone call with the project manager Michael, I felt like he really took the time to understand my vision and educate me on the various materials and products that were available, as well as all of the processes involved in installation. The project lasted about 3 months, and there was always excellent communication about the state of affairs. There were a few small curveballs as you might expect with any project of this size, but Michael always handled everything quickly and efficiently and in a very customer-oriented way, and when the scope of the project expanded significantly (I was originally going to use another contractor for the decking), the entire team took it in stride and made it a completely seamless project. Oscar and the crew were always punctual, professional, and polite, which is huge when these guys are spending this much time at your house. They really bent over backwards every step of the way to make sure I was happy with how things were going. I'm really happy with the quality of the products that we chose. We spent a little more for the pre-finished siding, but I think it was really worth it. Same with the decking and windows, we stepped up a little from the entry-level products. But there were a lot of different options, and Michael was always happy to revise quotes and offer multiple line-item options so that we could tailor everything to our needs while still staying within budget. Overall, I would highly recommend these guys for any kind of exterior work, and will be sure to reach out to them again should the need arise. My old '99 van's window had gotten smashed on Tuesday morning, so I started calling around for a replacement estimate, and 1st Choice gave me the best price, even though it was a special-order window due to my van being so old.. Amazingly, my window was replaced just a couple days later, on Friday; and it wasn't an easy install.. during the process, it was discovered that the pre-existing dent on the door had bent the support rods on the interior of the door a little... but he was able to deal with it so well that the window now works perfectly- and here's the thing: even though that surprise damage lengthened the repair time, the price didn't change, and as someone who had to scrape the barrel for money to pay for the repair to begin with, I'm beyond grateful for that kindness!
