It has been a fantastic experience when we visited Baker House Bread this morning. The historic building gives a feel of country side cottage. The parking space at the back is actually pretty convenient. They open at 10:00 AM until it is sold out. So we went there pretty early and arrived at 10:30, we got the sesame ring, there is only one more left. We also got roasted Tomato focaccia. All their bread is hand crafted with organic flour. It tastes quite different, more moisture and chewy than other bakers. The service is so heart warm and make you feel so special. They have rotating menu for the three days they open. There is no honey walnut on Saturday. We will have to go on Thursdays in order to get it. It is a visit that will make you smile. We'd love to go back more often.

This is really a hidden gem in the Cathedraltown area. This is a bakery specializing in sourdough bread - but I find that they are so much more than that! I have tried their focaccia and their pizza, which are both delightful, but I have enjoyed their desserts greatly as well. I've had their lemon semolina cakes and their chocolate chip cookies and both really hit the spot. They also have desserts like tiramisu, various cakes, frozen cookie dough and many other goods. The staff are also very kind and will take the time to give their recommendations and help you decide what to get! I have really enjoyed stopping by this cozy bakery and getting a little treat on a "treat yourself" kind of day. Highly recommended.

I've driven past this store many times. It's located inside a house looking structure. We tried the homemade earl grey ice cream and chocolate chip cookie chunk. The Earl Grey was amazing!!! We also purchase the sesame ring bread (it just came out of the oven). The bread was amazing. The service was very good They also sell pizza and treats such as the maple tart which we tried and it was very good. I did wish it had some pecan nuts which I think would be even better... Overall, we had a pleasant experience and will be back to try more goodies and freshly made bread.

Little gem of baked bread goodness, tucked away in a quiet corner of north Markham. They are also selling their breads at Fresh Heads Farmers Boutique on 9th line, and they always seem to sell out on weekends. Located in a odd office building, that has a heritage designation, come inside and quick left turn you will step into bread heaven. They are a small boulangerie that features small selection of breads, refrigerated dips, granola, maple syrup and a few desserts. Few tables to dine at inside. Parking in back of building is limited and the pavement has many many potholes right now, so be careful! My eyes caught the rolling cart of round focaccia bread cooling off, that is usually ready around 11am. 10-12 inches, but I somehow devoured one by myself! Two styles offered, the cheese is a no brainer to try. I paired it with the Spicy Labeneh, which is a strained yogurt, similar to a greek tzatziki with a beautiful roasted spice and chilli oil on top. It was a mild to medium spice but just lovely. The pesto labeneh looked like the next to try for dipping this loaf. Farmer bread and sourdough are also great sellers. Sourdough seems easier on stomachs of people with gluten sensitivity, so give that a try if you're not celiac. Dessert today was Zeppole, which is like a french eclair base in a piped rounded mound, filled with a light vanilla cream and cherry. Cream is similar to a light custard meets whipped cream not quite pudding but not whipped cream or cake frosting... which is where my mind goes every time I hear cream. Yes it is good, I could easily eat three they are so light. Poached Pear Honey Cake: super super moist and delish! If you enjoy spiced baked good, similar to gingerbread, molasses like treats, this will be a winner for you. Cash payment preferred. Swiping plastic, they will charge you $2 for the terminal fee. Hours are not typical, 10am-5pm some of the week. Call first if you're not nearby. The bags of granola looked amazing. More yummy things to try on the next visit.

Menu, but everything was tucked away BEHIND the counter.

Solid bakery that specializes in sourdough! Even their sesame ring is sourdough as well. Interior looks like a country café. There was a group of retired ladies enjoying some pizzas out in front where they had some tables/chairs out on a lovely Saturday late morning. Friendly male staff member sold my BIL some of their flour 'cause he bakes as well. There were some day olds at the counter for -50%. Fresh loaves were $8. Reason for 4 as opposed to 5 stars is that 1) nothing is displayed, everything is behind the counter, 2) not much variety, only a coupla bread options, pizza, I didn't see any pastries. Maybe they ran out which seems like a common complaint, and 3) as per their hours of operation, they only seem to be open half of the week.

I have this tendency it seems to go to places earlier than they open and startle the people that work there..... Popped into Bakerhouse Bread this morning to pick up a loaf of their delicious sesame ring and their chocolate chip cookie. Chocolate chip salty sweet, crispy around the edges chewy in the middle. Sesame ring still yummy but size wise noticeably smaller than the one I purchased first time I came. Actually all their bread looked smaller..... not sure if it's rising prices of flour, or if it was an off day and their starter wasn't as active. Loaves just seemed flatter than normal. Again taste still yummy.

Always fresh & tasty. Love their sweet treats from bakery (i.E. pie, cookie, muffin) & gelato with homemade waffle cone.

Recently, I got to try two of their 6 inch cakes. The earl grey tea chestnut cake with fresh strawberries and the black sesame mochi lava cake with fresh mangoes. Both cakes are AMAZING! I could taste the earl grey flavor and the chestnut flavor separately along with the fresh strawberries, it is a wonderful combination. The black sesame one was sooooo good also. It has black sesame mousse on the outside and the top is like a black sesame lava topped with pistachios and some kind of nutty crumble crunch. The inside has mochis layered within along with black sesame cake, more of that nutty crumble crunch and at the bottom is fresh mangoes. I honestly don't know which one I like better but I am craving either cakes again (I had both within the last 3 weeks haha). The service there is still excellent. Everyone working there is so kind & helpful. The ambiance is nice... it is spacious, bright and clean. I really love going in there and chatting with everyone while receiving top notch service.

The tray of pork floss buns hits the perfect sweet, salty, and fragrant balance. The fried chicken bun was a standout. Crispy juicy chicken with mayo inside a slightly sweet bakery bun is an unstoppable combo. The Garlic Hot Dog was pretty average since I couldn't taste any garlic at all. The curry bun could use more filling, but the pastry itself was flaky and flavorful. The cheese chicken bun was huge and super satisfying. We got it fresh so the outside was crisp and the cheese stayed gooey. We also grabbed their famous egg tarts. They kept selling out and the kitchen was scrambling to keep up, so we pre-ordered and came back thirty minutes later to pickup. Totally worth it. The crust is flaky and buttery and the filling is silky and creamy. In our opinion, these are the best egg tarts in the city.

Coconut bun which was soft, fluffy, and not overly sweet. Egg tart was also really good. Crust is very buttery crust with a silky custard center. The buns were all excellent. Prices are fair for the quality, and the staff is kind and welcoming. Definitely a new go-to spot when I'm craving pastries and buns!

Also, if you think you'll go there often, very worth it to sign up for their membership and put money into it to redeem points with their bakery. Below are all the items I have tried so far, what I would rate them, and why: -[Minced Ham & Cheddar Cheese Stick]: 7/10 - wish it had more ham and more cheese but a solid bun overall. Not very filling so could consider making it better by adding more cheese/ham myself or actual sandwich ingredients -[Lava MT (milk tea) Mochi]: 10/10 - very flavorful but super hard to photograph -[Matcha Red Bean Mochi]: 10/10 - red bean paste filling is creamy and tasty. Green tea mochi compliments it very well too -[Ham & Egg Bun]: 10/10 - didn't get a photo of it but the egg is so silky that it looks likr a giant rectangular prism of pudding instead of egg. Adding cheese before toasting would make it even better -[Bonito Flakes & Crab Meat Bun w/Okonomiyaki Sauce]: 10/10 - get at least two of these next time. Only wish it were a little more filling -[Ham & Italian Cheese Bun]: 10/10 - has TONS of ham in it aka worth it -[Smoked Bacon & Swiss Cheese Roll]: 10/10 extremely flavorful -[Chicken Sausage & Cheese Bun]: 9/10 - has a bit of a tangy sauce on it as well. Good flavor combination -[Long Wiener Bun]: 10/10 - tastes like a dressed hot dog -[Ham & Cheese bun]: 10/10 - lots of cheese and ham -[Egg Salad Croissant]: 10/10 - has cheese and fried onions in it as well and a heaping amount of egg salad. Croissant is also extremely flaky -[Curry Beef Donut]: 3/10 - curry is on the sweeter side and the amount of filling is quite sad -[Mango Mochi] 10/10 - super sweet and juicy mango on the inside
