Everything was okay. I ordered a mexicano burrito with guac. Never got my guac and my burrito definitely needed it. It was supposed to come with salsa but there was none to be found. They have a salsa bar though so my burrito wasn't too dry. I also ordered a fried fish soft taco on the side. I received a grilled fish taco, which was still very tasty. I wasn't in the mood to complain about anything. Service was eh. The floors were an absolute mess. There we're napkins all over the floor and it needed a good long session with a mop. I want to give baja fresh and Danny at this location a special review for the great customer service. My wife felt something was off with her burrito after taking a few bites we headed to Costco after baja fresh to pump gas and so we were close by and heade back to baja fresh to make sure we got what we ordered. My wife tells me her order was wrong and felt they gave her the wrong type of meat so I get sent back in to make sure they got the correct order and once Danny confirmed we got what we ordered I was ready to walk back to the car no questions asked and explain to my wife her order was correct. Before I could turn around and walk out Danny asked me what was wrong with the burrito and I explained I wasn't really sure since it was not for me and i was just the messenger. Danny said well let's fix it and he made another burrito for me on the spot. I still don't really know what was wrong with the first burrito all I know is my wife took 2 bites and she could tell right away something was off. Really appreciated Danny going above and beyond with the customer service and making sure his customer was happy. Thats why everytime we are in the modesto area we try to stop in at baja fresh really miss it since we used to live down the street from a baja fresh when we dated and it was our go to spot I really wish we had one in stockton. I usually like the food here but for the past few times, it seems like the rice was overcooked or stale that it wasn't that enjoyable. Also, sometimes the chicken is dry. Not sure what I missed, and when they decided to change their food, but lately it's been nothing but disappointment. Their burritos used to be double or triple the size that they are now. I used to get two meals out of one burrito, now I am still hungry after. You pay about $9 for a burrito they you can get the same quality but bigger for $4 or $5 at a taco truck. Burritos used to have decent meat, now meat is scarce and burritos are mostly beans and rice. Took a picture of burrito compared to little salsa cups. This place made me sick, physically ill! Went here with my husband and ten month old son on our way to look at appliances at sears. It wasn't thirty minutes after finishing our meals that i found myself in the Sears bathroom D: sickness from both ends! I must say i believe I've never gotten sick from eating out as bad and as fast as i had from here; waves of heat and pains that felt like contractions in my stomach. The kid at the register also had a chip on his shoulder; not friendly whatsoever. Lastly, didn't notice the swarm of flies around the restaurant till after we say down, but did i mention how the worse part was the immediate dysentery and puking my brains out in the extremely busy sears bathroom?!? Food is always good however service is terrible. I called an hour ahead to order a large lunch. I was to pick up at 11 at 10:55 I arrived paid and then they started my order! Had they told me I needed to pay ahead to have it ready I would have gladly paid. At 11:15 I was still waiting and they asked me again what my order was because they made it incorrectly. I luuuuv Baja! I'm a sucker for the salsa that looks like mud, so good. The food is by no means authentic Mexican, but it's so fresh and so tasty it does the job. The baja ensalada is full of fresh veggies and chicken, and a nice change from a thick greasy burrito or taco. My daughter calls it ba-sha, and loves the salsa bar, so many choices. They often do fundraiser nights for the elementary school, which is great for the school and my belly! Also, they're pretty good at getting you in and out if your just getting food to go. I hadn't been to this restaurant in years! Last time I went, it was super crowded and chaotic inside. I recently had Baja Fresh at a catered event, so I thought I'd check out the restaurant again. The crowded lobby situation wasn't as bad since they now deliver your food to you at your table. I had some great coupons and received a lot of food for my money. The salsa bar was great and the food was excellent. It tasted so fresh. I had the shrimp tacos and my husband had a burrito. The chips were also fresh and tasty. I was VERY impressed with the quality and taste of the food. My only critique would be that I had difficulty understanding the employee who took my order due to his accent. 2 Stars because the customer service when I got there was not what I expected. Second I had ordered a 2 taco carnitas combo which said on their bored it was 7.99 but I was charged more. I went along had my lunch but afterwards asked why I was being charged more than what I had ordered. The young lady said, " oh it's because you ordered a side of beans" I than told her, " no, the combo says, it comes with rice and beans as the side. She needed help. I just hope they train their employees better because if they don't know their own menu than people should check what they are getting charged. In the end she was wrong. As a regular patron of Baja Fresh outlets for over 10 years, the decline in quality is just shocking. Last 3 visits have been disastrous experience. They have a fish called Wahoo that is chewing gum. What the hell is Wahoo anyway? For those inclined towards vegetarian and fish, it has really gone bad. I ordered a veggy bowl and for $6.99 all it was, was a lot of very wet and slimy onions and green peppers and rice with a bit of cheese. My wife ordered the chewing gum fish tacos. On a prior visit I had ordered shrimp which are nothing but small salad type shrimp poorly added on, with no seasoning. Its all very tasteless and bland and slimy and boring. This place used to be a staple stop for a healthy meal on days one wanted escape from the kitchen Our 3rd recent visit was our last. This chain will be out of business v soon. Guaranteed. read more

Even thought this is part of a chain and deemed fast food, this location would make you question that. I stopped here for a quick lunch while on a field visit and I was blown away. Wow! I can't believe I made it this long without ever trying Baja Fresh. I got some coupons in the mail which brought me in, and I'm sure glad I went. I ordered a Baja Burrito with shrimp, and my girlfriend ordered chicken taquitos. We ordered a side of chips with cheese. While we waited, we served ourselves from the salsa bar. All of the salsas were pretty good, but the mango salsa that everyone raves about on Yelp is just ok to me. It tastes good and is definitely fresh, but I prefer a more traditional salsa on my food. Anyway, my burrito was delicious. Although the burrito was a little on the smaller side, they did not skimp on the shrimp. The flavor was complemented perfectly by the ingredients in the "Baja" burrito. My girlfriend said her taquitos were "just good, not great" and she wished they topped them with lettuce. The cheese sauce that came with our chips was good, but nothing special also. Rating my burrito from Baja Fresh, it was better than a lot of taquerias. I definitely did not expect the high quality and freshness from Baja Fresh; I'd always assumed it was a "fast food" type establishment with cheap, mediocre food. If I could change anything, I'd make the burritos bigger. Overall, I highly recommend this place and can't wait to go back. read more

It's my first time here and I enjoyed the food. I had the 2 combo tacos of Wahoo(which is grilled fish) with rice and beans. They have a salsa bar that has a variety of different salsas. I got the mango salsa and it added a good taste to my tacos. Good and fast service as well. The only thing I don't like is that the wet floor signs are out but the floors are so dirty. But I think it's because they mop the floors and customers are constantly walking through. Also the garbage cans were really full and we had to push our trash in so it could all fit. I ordered the Chile Lime Shrimp salad and it was AMAZING! The shrimp was like a little piece of heaven with every bite I took. I was ready for lunch to arrive and as it was delivered I thought UGH why did I have to try to be good today and order a stupid salad.. but then I pulled this beauty out of the bag, wow that is pretty but why didn't I just order a burrito... I proceed to add some dressing, mix it up and BAM take a bite. What the heck.. How could a salad taste so darn delicious.. The dressing has just the right amount of Tangy sweetness and the shrimp is grilled to perfection. Ok I could probably go on and on. Wow just wow.. so we ordered our food through the yelp app and when we got there they were barely putting the order into the computer. Waited for 15-20 mins seeing many people coming and going with their food wondering where ours was. Then the girl calls me over saying there was a discrepancy that the amount we paid on yelp wasn't the correct amount anymore, due to the prices going up because of employee raises. So a whole $2.75 was now due and apparently until I paid that outrageous amount they couldn't make the food. What have they been doing the last 20 mins then???! Anyways paid and then went back to waiting. More ppl were coming and going and getting their food ummm what? Go back and ask what the holdup is this time. They couldn't make the veggie burrito cuz they didn't understand what no onions or peppers meant when those were the only veggies on it.
