We eat at Baja Buds so much that I wait at least a year to update a review. It is always great, the food is always the best and they make it the way you want it. They have counter with hot plates and much of their food is made to order. They make their own corn tortilla and their meats are always great. Parking will take a minute, it is in a small stip mall, but you will find a place. It is never so crowded that you can't get a seat and the counter moves fast. It is always clean. It is cute and ever so comfortable. All of their food is great. We love their soft tacos with meat or chicken and their burritos are packed with chicken or meat and whatever else you want them to put in. The prices are fair still and they have great chips, salsa and guacamole. Everything is just great. read more

Very solid carne asada burrito here. Much better than my last two burritos from Taqueria Chihuahua and tacomiendo-inglewood. Baja buds burrito was a good size, had a lot of good grilled steak flavor, and their salsa was solid. I appreciated the hot sauce options on the table along with the traditional salsa bar. They have a ton of other options, but definitely a solid four stars for their carne asada. Wouldn't hesitate to come back here. read more

The service, friendly, welcoming, and professional. The ambiance was one of a fiesta Baja Cantina type vibe. So the Pollo Asada was flavorful and tender. Been coming for years, but finally reached out to the GM to find out what exactly is vegan. Good news! Their Beans and rice are both vegan and so is the enchilada sauce and mole! They use a veggie broth. For some reason I thought this was a chain, but it isn't. They don't have a lot of veggies, some sauted veggies would be nice, but they do have homemade tortillas which are great. I usually have them pour some enchilada sauce on my bean and rice tacos to add a little something. A good spot for vegans or anyone who likes healthier mexican food. read more

Long time Customer, who used to love this place. Unfortunately, they now charge approximately two dollars per ounce of salsa. No free salsa with your chips, no more salsa bar. It would've been so much smarter to raise the price of everything else $. 25 to cover the cost of the salsa. It is Ludacris for a Mexican restaurant to charge for salsa. I went yesterday to purchase a burrito and I dined in but unfortunately it was very hot in the restaurant and I was unsatisfied with the environment of the restaurant. Food wise food was good but it was very hot. I dined in because i didn't want to eat in my car however it was hot and ac maybe wasn't working idk but i did not like the environment and the smell of the restaurant. As a very long term customer ('89) I thought it was time to write a review of one of my favorite restaurants. Their food is healthy and delicious. Many of the workers have been there for years. There's something distinctly flavorable about their burritos in particular I haven't found anywhere else. My regret is moving further away and not going as often. The last surviving location of once many around Los Angeles. I moved to LA from San Diego myself 5 years ago, so this does not taste quite like the Baja Mexican that I am used to, especially black beans and their specific flavors here, but still it's a solid choice for a good and casual meal. It's just like Chipotle or a cafeteria and that you order at the counter and then watch them put the toppings on that you wish. There is a fairly large parking lot directly in front of the restaurant in the strip mall it's located in and we had no trouble finding a spot there for a Friday night dinner. Service was very fast and they got all of our food items cracked. I started off with their fish taco, which was fairly good, although not quite like the ones back in SD. It's more of a street taco and I would still recommend it. Next came the burrito grande which was very large, but very good. I wish the carne would be a bit more seasoned, but still I enjoyed it. Lastly, we ordered the chicken taquitos which were very very good. The chicken was still juicy and it was fried perfectly and we really enjoyed it. Overall, a good casual Mexican spot for any occasion. I would recommend and plan to be back in the future. read more

Quite honestly... this taqueria is mediocre. It's not like in Miami or Texas/Arizona where you walk into a market hotbar with all the authentic layouts and it tastes as good as Looks. Or other Taquerias ive been too on the Eastside or Valley that have SAME layout and legitimate tastes as good and authentic as should be...The burritos are decent, with all the toppings. However frankly for what you spend Id find a taco stand on the street that tastes more authentic. read more

I've been going here since it first opened in the mid 80s, when Sam Goody was still there, before Hamburger Habit opened, before the other Baja Bud's restaurants opened (and closed). I eventually moved out of CA but this is the only restaurant I always visit multiple times when I visit, and is my favorite restaurant of all time. I even proudly own their t-shirt haha. I used to love this place, but the service and wait time has deteriorated. The last visits I have left frustrated and angry. I place a 3 - 4 item order and then stand there as other people that ordered after me are served first. The food is good but not worth the angry feeling I walk away with. A shout-out to my favorite California-Mexican joint! The staff continue to wear masks! And that is very important with the set up that they have. Their set up is like a Chipotle -- the food is laid out in front of a staff member (or even two staff members). And the staff member communicates -- via speaking -- with the patron. So that means if the staffer is not wearing a mask, invisible spit spray lands on the food. I saw this on one episode of CSI. And we are not even talking COVID here. I simply don't want someone's spit on my food. Therefore, I am so glad the staffer at Baja Bud's continue to wear masks. read more

I have been coming to Baja buds for over 18 years and every experience has been great. I reside near the area and almost every weekend I crave Baja buds. The carne asada and the quesadilla are always my go to. The service is quick and efficient which is great. The food is good and high-quality, but their corn tortillas are horrible. They make them there, but from a premade flower batter, and if you don't get them right when they make them, then they are stale. By no means are these homemade corn tortillas. I wish they would just buy already made tortillas, they would taste much better. The staff are nice, but boy are they slow. If ever I arrive there and there's more than two parties waiting to order, I'd leave because it takes them so long. I like the staff there, but sincerely, they are so slow. They look like they are moving at a good pace, but however, they have their system set up takes way too long to place your order and then receive it. I've had to leave several times due to the slowness. I don't mind waiting in line, but as I said, already, if there's more than two people in line waiting to place their order, forget about it. La fila se mueve lentamente. Demasiado lento. There's been quite a few times that I was eating. And I noticed the line get backed up and other parties arrive and just turned around and leave. I guess the regulars know that it takes too long if there's more than a couple parties waiting to order. Other than all that, the food is very good. I like how helpful it is and clean.
