This place is one of the best Mexican restaurants in Seattle? Good lord. The restaurant is on a corner with street only parking, which is next to impossible to obtain, the inside was dirty with flies all over the place and the food was mediocre. I ordered the steak tacos with a side of chips and guacamole for around $14.50. With the tacos you only get two of them, the steak itself was somewhat tender but with no seasoning or flavor on it, the beans were decent with cheese on them but pretty bland without as was the rice. I think the best thing I ate would be the chips and guacamole. The pico de gallo was also pretty decent on the tacos but the salsa for the chips tasted similar to what you get at taco time. For $14 I can get as good of food or better from a food truck and not still be hungry afterward. I definitely wouldn't have to go back and don't see what the huge draw to this place is. read more

I ate here a year ago and loved it. I ate there last night, spent $54 on a enchilada dinner, tamale dinner and a beef burrito with extra cheese, that was not good. I will not be going back, it was not worth it. Mexican food is very flavorful, this was not. Buyers beware. read more

We moved to Seattle 2 years ago, and happened to land 2 blocks from this place. The Bistro has quickly become our comfort food here, and we're there at least once, if not twice a week. The food is really good, especially for these prices. Make sure you try the mole enchiladas! They don't have much for vegans (Rice & Beans, Chips & Salsa) but they have plenty of cheesy things for veggies. Great cup o' Joe! Never a long wait! Great burrito that they will make vegan, no weird looks. Progressive place, friendly for ALL kinds of people, maybe except absolute bungholes. The outdoor seating is very nice! The staff has always been exceptional and attentive. Sometimes I do bad and get the hotcakes, which are way better than any pancakes I've had anywhere else. I feel i need to add a few things to my friends review. I think his was well written and I am adding it in mine for reference friend hims review "I have frequented this restaurant many times over the last few years. Usually the food is quite good. The service is sometimes slow, but pleasant and generally I've had no complaints. Today the poor service trumped the good food. It took well over an hour for us to get our order. Several parties in the dining area had ordered after us and finished their meal before we received an acknowledgement. In the interim the server failed to note the long delay, replenish drinks or even acknowledge our presence. When a few folks in our party called it to her attention she was defensive and blamed the kitchen. The dispute escalated between one of the members of our party and the server and it was unfortunate. Suffice it to say that the exchange deteriorated from there. The food was good as usual. It was not worth the wait or the attitude however. I would note that the server did comp our meal. I get that kitchens may screw up orders sometimes. I recognize that this may be frustrating for customers and servers. What makes the difference is a server who doesn't lose track of you in the queue and one who makes an effort to have a few intermediate check-ins. That was a total miss today." I have been here a few times, food was always good. this time however i felt my craving for a fish taco was so unsatisfied I went to taco time and got twice as much fish and three time the flavor for 1.99. Sadly I am unfortunately the friend that felt i needed to speak up. When the sever was making excuses for the kitchen even though all the other tables where getting their food in a fast and timely manner she claimed that the bar being so busy was the reason it took almost an hour to get our food. I feel bad, I could have handled the situation better and i understand it is discretionary to receive a comp, and i did not expect i would get one as i did not, but there was a 3 way split on the ticket and only half the table was comped me and another friend who payed before me. I feel bad for him as i fell it was my fault his food was not comped. We have talk and I'll gladly take him out for Thai food later this week. I have spent 10 years as a sever and this was some of the worst service i have received in a long time read more

The atmosphere is friendly and cozy here. There always seem to be regulars dropping in for coffee or takeout. I love the cheese burrito and my husband loves the cheese torta. Their burritos are huge and generally require a takeout box. I don't mind this because I love taking home their unique spicy brown salsa and eating it with tortilla chips. read more

Had a great time here last night. The most hilarious drag show. The place was packed and kinda hot, so everyone was down to their t-shirts. Definitely a lot more fun than I expected to have at a little Mexican restaurant. Drinks were good and fast. They could use more space because it's a popular spot. I ordered something that was supposed to be egg wrapped in flour tortillas -baked in the oven then with a sauce on top of it... but I'm not sure my dish ever went on the oven. The simple but interesting descriptions on the menu sound clean, crisp, and healthy but intriguing, but read them for what they are - lists of ingredients. Fish tacos with cabbage? Breaded fish in stale tacos with shredded cabbage. Completely bland, and served with totally blah re-fried beans and rice. My wife's mole enchiladas were serviceable but completely forgettable. We went for dinner and the food was TERRIBLE. I lived in New Mexico for 12 yrs and spent a lot of time in San Diego. This food is unacceptable as Mexican or Baja. The Ranchero sauce on my chimichanga was a marinara sauce. If they had left off the sauce, it would have been average. My husband got the fish tacos and the sauce for that was thousand island (you don't get any whiter than that). They were so bland overall that he needed the thousand island to give it any flavor at all. Maybe breakfast is a different story but I am too disgusted to ever go back. read more

service was really polite, friendly, and the place was really cute; but the food was just okay. corn tortillas in my enchiladas were too hard - not dense - but not soft enough to enjoy it. i felt like the rancheros sauce was pretty bland too, as close to canned salsa as i could probably imagine. so, it wasn't so flavorful. chips were just okay and the salsa was tasty, but the texture was weirdly like thickened italian salad dressing? it was okay mexican food, but not really as authentic baja style as i was hoping for (maybe i should've tried their fish). read more
