Don't believe their hours - 3 days in a row trying to get to have dinner at this restaurant with a big party of 8 people and every-time we called they give us a different time for closing... and them we get to their restaurant and they are close... serious!!! So frustrating , why have hours posted on the door that you don't follow! Why tell customers you will close at 9:20 them decide to close at 9pm. Am I the only one to get random strong cravings for Thai cuisine? Probably not. So, if that sounds like you, try Bai Thong! I decided to call ahead to pick up my food. I ordered fresh spring rolls and an entree of chicken Pad Thai. It was so difficult to decide what to get as many of their reviews highlight quite a few of their menu items that are reportedly delicious. However, I'm glad I ordered what I did. Their chicken pad Thai was amazing. It relieved my craving and had me in a food coma! It was full of flavor, perfectly seasoned and mixed. Their chicken was well cooked. Everything was balanced in flavor. I also enjoyed the spring rolls. Very fresh and perfect way to start the meal. The food was portioned well and priced appropriately. I was very surprised to see the place a bit empty. But I understand with the situation right now. I just hope this place sticks around for a while! The employee I paid and retrieved my food from was very kind and attentive. He made sure to wipe and disinfect the card reader and such between customers. I couldn't quite understand why this place was so barren. Arriving for dinner in the middle of the week, the place is deserted. And by the time we left, only two other seats have been filled. That sort of thing always makes me nervous. But I so enjoyed this little spot! They have about 18 tables and could very easily seat large groups of people. Nothing fancy or flashy. Modest digs, but delicious eats. This seems like the perfect spot for a casual lunch or for a casual dinner with family, friends or your volunteer group. The service is prompt and attentive. We ordered the tofu spring rolls and fried canapés to share. I went with the duck Curry and my friend ordered a beef and mushroom entrée. Prices are very reasonable. Most of the entrées fell somewhere between $7 and $9. Portions were hefty. We had enough for leftovers. I absolutely loved my duck curry. And I thoroughly enjoyed my friends entrée as well. My new favorite Thai restaurant! I've been wanting to try this place for awhile, and finally got the chance to go here after a long day of moving. When we first entered, there was no one in sight. The man working in the restaurant was very friendly and saw we had my niece with us and quickly brought us a high chair without us asking. There is a big variety in the menu, curries, noodle dishes, seafood and vegetarian options. There is also a lunch menu, but seeing that we were there for dinner, we looked onward. My mother has a low tolerance for spicy foods and they were very accommodating to change the spice level for her. We ordered the seafood dish, shrimp pad Thai, masamang curry, beef pad see ew, beef pad Thai, and chicken fried rice (sorry for misspellings!) The curries come with a bowl of white rice, which was plenty enough to share for the 5 of us. The food came out in a timely fashion and everything was delicious! Everything was well seasoned, hot, and just the right amount of spice. Although there weren't any mussels on the seafood dish as advertised in the menu, it was all still very delicious! I ate about 3 bites before deciding I would not continue to sugar-dump on my body. The sweetness was overpowering and sickening. Diabetes runs in both sides of my family. Was surprised the spring rolls came with no meat, instead with fried tofu. The sauce was a sweet and spicy one instead of peanut sauce. It however had a better variety of vegetables in it which made it just barely enjoyable. The curry chicken skewers were good though i would have preferred more color and curry flavor. Lastly the Pla Chu Chi was a red curry with Cod fish filets. I loved the curry, loved the cod, am unsure how i feel about the two together. Overall i enjoyed my experience. read more

It's been a while since I've eaten here but the flavors are still good! I ordered the Penang Curry (PEANUT allergy warning!) hot and it didn't disappoint in the heat department. In fact I "watered" down the leftovers with a little coconut milk and it was perfect. Their heat level is higher than some other places so you might want to be careful. They also use a shrimp free curry paste, unlike the visit to Senae Thai. I didn't get the Thai tea this time but it's always been a perfect balance. They're a great spot to pick up a lunch special or there's plenty of seating for a group in the large open dining area. I debated between 3 and 4 stars because the beef in the curry was a bit chewy and one chunk wasn't edible but the overall flavor got them to a 4. I'll just order chicken next time. It is certainly not upscale by any means but they serve up some great Thai food that satisfied our cravings. It is an unassuming family dining spot. The satay is flavorful with tender juicy chicken. "Sorry waitress gave you someone else's plate". But she didn't have the curtsy to address this with us directly. She is also a real sourpuss unlike the owner and his family. We stumbled upon yet another hidden gem right smack in the middle of Tucson. This strip mall location is a little worn around the edges, however the food is outstanding. I've been to this location 3 times now and have tried to order something different each time, first starting out with an appetizer of Tom Yum Gai, spice level 3 (which is the middle level). Depending on whose prepping the food in back, this spice level can be pretty hot. The last time we visited, we ordered the Tom Yum Gai (3) and order our main dish at Level 4. Wow, okay, 4 is about my limit of enjoying the savoy flavors of curry, corriander, lemon grass, coconut milk, pork, shrimp, and all the other wonder Thai flavors. Came here for dinner with a friend after checking reviews online, and specifically reading on their menu that the panang curry was peanut based - my favorite kind. It was fairly slow for a weekday night, so we attended to very promptly. My friend ordered the red curry, and both of our food came out simultaneously within 10 minutes. The flavor profile was complex, and succeeded in fulfilling our Thai food craving. Truly nothing poor to say about the actual taste of the food. However, the reason that Bai Thong Only gets a 4 instead of a 5 is because of the SIGNIFICANT portion size difference between our two curries. The red curry came with almost double the food at the same price, and in completely different serving dishes. I've personally never come across a Thai food restaurant that varies so significantly in portion seizes of entree curries especially when nothing indicates as such on the menu. We had a little bit of a language and barrier with our server so it wasn't something we thought was worth bringing up. Just be aware that portion sizes other aren't very consistent here, or that different curries are secretly priced differently if you look at amount per dollar. I will say, even with that the food was good enough that I'd be willing to risk the unequally small portion sizes again especially since a good peanut style panang is hard to come by. read more
