What happened? New ownership? We have eaten here regularly the last few years, always good, consistent Thai food. We have not eaten there for about 6 months. I brought home an order of Papaya Salad, and Penang Curry. The Curry was extremely thin, the veggies were terribly overcooked, The Salad was mostly lettuce, dressing, and tomato peels. We showed up right at opening and these guys were ready to roll. Service was quick and friendly and the food was on point. We even got a friendly photo bomb! We had mango salad and Pad Thai with REAL crab, not the imitation crab that many places serve. The Thai iced tea was good too. Note that if you don't like spicy stuff, make sure to let the waitress know! Thai food often tends to be spicy. I have driven by Bai Bua Thai Kitchen many times. Finally I decided to stop and try it, as I love some awesome Pad Thai. I was greeted and taken to my table. The waitress left me with a menu. It was quite some time before she came back to take my order. But I didn't mind as it gave me plenty of time to peruse the menu. I ordered the spring rolls and chicken pad thai. It was served with miso soup. Everything was wonderful. And there was a lot of food. I had leftovers for dinner and lunch the next day! I gladly recommend this place. read more

Found this Thai restaurant well driving around Salem to stem the boredom of quarantine. For being a random restaurant that we found, it definitely left an impact. I guess I'm on a mango kick, as I was immediately drawn to the Mango chicken. Huge chunks of mango and slices of chicken. The spice was perfect at a level 4. Just enough burn to release those endorphins while still being able to enjoy the flavors of everything around it. The only things we had to note was that the pot sticker wrapper felt a little chewy although the filling more than made up for it. There was also some issue with our card being charged twice, but the lady behind the cashier was very nice through out this process. read more

The food here is amazing. I always get the crab fried rice, drunken noodles, chicken larb, and papaya salad. All to die for. Their Tom yum is also really good. For Salem I would say hands down the best Thai restaurant in town. Customer service is also 100%. The ladies that work here are so nice and welcoming. They also are on door dash and Postmates! We also requested the heat level to be 3, that added a new level that I enjoyed.My previous review I said I would try the crab pad thai and I would say it was also delicious. I was super impressed! Cute tables and decorations around restaurant. The restaurant was very clean and we were greeted right away. Friendly service. We were a group of three, got the fried avocado and it was SO yum. I ordered the peanuts lover entree with veggies and tofu and the sauce was delicious. My mom ordered the peanut noodles and she said it was also great. Pretty sure the same sauce was used on both. My brother opted for the mango entree with chicken. I tasted it and it was quite good. We have grab some curry dishes from this place several times. Their food is really good! We tend to go for the green and yellow curry :-)

The service is usually excellent. Today I came in by myself. I came in before another group of people. They got their water, but not me. I had to ask for water. I finished my water and began to cough. No one came over and I had to ask for water. No one asked me once how my meal was. Had to get a napkin from another table. I have to say their food has always been excellent. I have always enjoyed this place with 5 stars. I hope they were just having a bad day. The food was absolutely amazing. The service was fast and friendly. Not a lot of seating but it was enough for the evening. They were doing a large to go order business. I had the chicken peanut Penang curry dish with sticky rice. I highly recommend to anyone who likes curry. Wow, this place is super good. Some of the best curry I've had on the west coast. They have so many curry options too, so you don't have to stick with just red, yellow or green. We've tried the gangpa, red, duck red, and yellow. All were top shelf, bursting with flavor. I've also had their Pad Thai (which is sweeter than I was expecting, but was pleasantly delicious), the wings (also sweet, very good) and the fried rolls (how can you go wrong). Everything is delicious, just enough spicy, great portion sizes and reasonably priced. 10/10, I recommend! read more

I've ordered from this place several times now. First time good spicy hot but not bad. Last two times. The food was way too hot to eat. I am not a person who cannot handle hot food. I spent 32 years in the desert Southwest I love jalapeños I love spicy hot food. First time I ordered I ordered heat level three it was hot but tolerable could eat it. This was the worst Thai food that I have ever experienced in Salem/Keizer. I ordered the Tom Kha soup, Fried rice, and the Curry noodles. I ordered Delivery and it was delivered on time and was still hot so that's why I rated 3 stars even though he didn't ring the doorbell which is on the instructions for delivery and also posted in the window, seems like other ubereats drivers seem to neglect. The soup, which is one of my favorites was overly sweet and hard to swallow because it was too sweet, and I ordered the large size! The fried rice was not very flavorful and the curry noodles tasted like the same sauce as the soup, just more spicy (too hot for my taste) I wasted my money on food I couldn't eat. I wish the customer service was better - and I think it could be a cultural/language thing. We ordered online. 15 minutes I stopped in to pick up. It took 45 minutes to get my order. Then....the appetizer was wrong. My hot level of 3 was not edible, it was at least a 5. (I've ordered here before and know what their scale is). I don't think we will be back. read more

This is some of the best Thai food I have found in this area. The Bai Bua Parade is a sampler of appetizers and makes a great meal on its own. I personally like the Thai Spicy Basil Chicken, the Pineapple Fried Rice, and Yellow Curry. read more

For us Thai food is all about the flavors and Bai Bua really delivers. We had cashew crispy chicken and lemongrass chicken. Divine! $30.20 plus tip. We'd come here any time. Went in on a Sunday evening. Not crowded 3 or 4 tables filled. Were asked to sit anywhere and we did, its a a small place but they have done wonders with the space, looks great and clean. The view of the 76 gas pumps isnt the best, but we were here for the food and it was very good indeed. Had Crab Rangoon to start and they were very nice . Also had a pot of the jasmine tea which was really flavorful. Next up i had the Param Lemongrass Chicken which was excellent nd a nice portion my daughter had the Duck Noodle Soup which was also nice portion and very tasty..lots of duck. Pros : The restaurant was not at all crowded. Infact we were the only people in the restaurant during lunch. Cons: 1. Full plate food came as if it was a kids plate. So not enough food for the money they charge. 2. They charged extra for Tofu when the dish mentioned tofu to be in it with no extra. Upon contesting that, they fixed it. 3. No difference between the lunch menu item for $9 and the full plate item for $14 which eventually has the same amount of food for the same dish. read more

I've been here a few times and mostly love it. The only thing I don't like is that the orange chicken is very inconsistent. Sometimes it's amazing and sometimes it's gross. I'm glad that they even have something like orange chicken that my picky eating six year old likes but even that is bad sometimes. However I could taste more oyster sauce rather than a smokey soy sauce flavor that is typical of this dish, but this could be because it was spicy. Asked for 2 out of 5 for spice level, and this dish was over spiced to a level 4 or 5. I love spicy food but was not expecting my mouth to be on fire with "mild" since I tend to like adding my own chili sauce to this dish. Veggies were fresh, service was quick, staff were polite. It's not bad, but between all the Thai places I've been to around Salem and Portland, this restaurant is probably the weakest. For the duck basil fried rice, the menu gives the impression that the duck will be stir fried in with the rice but it was actually just placed on top of the rice. The duck itself was very crispy but at the cost of being dry. The rice was decent but too mildly flavored in my opinion and a bit clumpy (as opposed to the rice grains separating). The first time I went, I ordered pad Thai and it was too ketchupy for my preference, but the noodles themselves were cooked really well. Not the greatest service, but it is clear that they are understaffed, so I understand that the service can't be amazing at the moment. read more

Have been here twice. First ordered food to go, second time ate here. Located in a strip mall with great view of Gas Station and people shopping at the local mart. Food is very tasty! The Duck over Spinach was crispy on outside and juicy inside. Family of 4 we all ordered something different. Kung Pao, Orange Chicken, Spicy fried rice (to share), Pork Red Curry, Seafood Avocado Curry, Crispy Shrimp. Both Curries were great with Avocado being the best. Orange Chicken was not the overly sweet you get at most restaurants. Very flavorful. All plates had great presentation and extremely fresh ingredients. Coconut Ice Cream for dessert very light and refreshing. Thai ice tea of course. Only disappointment was Calamari appetizer. $9.50 for not very many pieces and it was very rubbery.
