The flavor was still rich, creamy and perfectly balanced to me! My husband ordered the same but without any ingredient restrictions. He thought his was pretty awesome as well but the star at this dinner was the naan. It arrived piping hot and with the right chewiness to it. It looked and smelt heavenly! He inquired how it was made and they told us each order is made fresh and by hand. My hubby said this naan rises above all the others he ate in India. Service was personal and very good. A tad slow at times but the family crew members had many take out orders during our stay. No worries. I'm planning a return visit already.

Excellent Indian food you won't get many other places in Vancouver…read more Most Indian food in the city is Punjab. This place offers something different: Maharashtrian food, all-vegetarian, with many vegan options. Top-notch service -- the guy serving us was very helpful in letting us know what was or could be vegan. We ordered: -Oli Bhel ($13.38). Classic bhel puri with chutney mixed in. Excellent textures and flavour balance. -Ragda patties ($16.84). Two (non-fried) potato patties in a white pea curry (seemed like chickpeas), garnished with a sweet green chutney and sev. This was probably our favourite dish. -Misal bhakri ($22.11). Very spicy moth bean curry, served with farsan, chopped raw onions, and a bhakri (roti-like bread). Really fantastic flavours and textures again. Everything was fantastic. The dishes were staggered one by one, so that made for a nice paced experience. We loved the food. However, this type of cuisine doesn't exactly make a for a balanced, healthy meal -- there's a lack of vegetables and it's fairly low protein -- so hard to see us coming back frequently, but this is definitely highly recommended for a different Indian food experience.

In every setting, the experience was exceptional. The food is truly remarkable. There is a vitality to it that is difficult to describe until you experience it for yourself. The ingredients taste fresh, vibrant, and thoughtfully prepared, and there is an unmistakable energy in the food. What struck me most was how I felt after eating: energized, nourished, and genuinely good. There is a sense of vitality that stays with you, and you leave feeling refreshed, satisfied, and restored. I was also fortunate to meet the owner, who was exceptionally kind, warm, and generous with his time. He spoke with me about the traditions behind the cuisine and took the time to enlighten me about the depth, history, and significance of the food. He also introduced me to some wonderful and interesting drinks, making the experience feel personal and memorable. His passion and knowledge gave me an even deeper appreciation for what I was tasting and for the traditions being carried forward through the restaurant. There is something genuinely special and distinctive about this place. The food has depth, character, and integrity, yet it is remarkably accessible. It seems to transcend cultural boundaries and is appreciated by people from so many different backgrounds. Perhaps that is because, at its heart, it is simply delicious, thoughtfully prepared food that makes you feel good. That combination of exceptional food, genuine hospitality, freshness, tradition, and vitality is rare. Whether you dine in or take the food home, you can feel the care and intention behind it. The ambience is super nice and cozy with warm neutral lights inside and nice seating. It's quite spacious and big as well. The service is pretty good too and if you go on Saturday night you would have to wait for approximately 15 minutes as well. We ordered sev puri in appetizers which was really great in taste. It had perfect spice, and the filling of potatoes, curd and sev with pomegranate was commendable. For main ordered garlic naan, tandoori roti with kadhai paneer as curry . All of them were really delicious. Kadhai paneer was perfect in spice and taste and its curry was totally going with the paneer. Absolutely loved the experience there and already feeling hungry to be back and order again. Highly recommended.

Our final meal during our day trip to British Columbia was at Spice 72 Indian Restaurant & Lounge,…read moreand it was the perfect end to the day. The restaurant was easy to find, located inside a plaza with plenty of free parking. Surprisingly, it was busy on a Saturday night at 9PM, and we had to wait about 20 minutes for a table for three. During the wait, my sister and I, both first-timers to Indian cuisine, struggled to narrow down our choices. My boyfriend stepped in and consulted with our friendly waiter, who helped us choose a great spread: Plain Rice to share, (2) orders of Naan Breads, (2) Mango Lassis, Goat and Lamb Vindaloo, Tandoori Chicken (8 pieces), and Chicken Tikka Masala. The food was fantastic, with both the temperature and spiciness turned up to the max! The Naan Bread was a standout, a must-try with any meal, and my personal favorite was the Tandoori Chicken. The restaurant has a cozy, dimly lit atmosphere, perfect for a casual yet intimate dining experience. However, the music was quite loud throughout, which added a lively energy to the space. We were seated near the fireplace and a TV showing a hockey game, which was a bit too warm for us, especially since our food was already piping hot! The service was exceptional. Our waiter was not only attentive but also entertaining, making our experience even more enjoyable. I'd absolutely recommend Spice 72 for anyone craving authentic Indian food. It was clear from the crowd that the restaurant is beloved by those in the know--everyone there, except us, appeared to be of Indian descent, which was a great sign of its authenticity.

The food…read moreis consistently outstanding, packed with flavor, and offers incredible value for the quality and portion sizes. The butter chicken is easily one of the best I've had--rich, creamy, and bursting with flavor. Pair it with their rumali roti, which is a rare find in Vancouver, and you have the perfect meal. The chicken Kalami kebabs are unbelievably tender and practically melt in your mouth, while the lamb chops are beautifully marinated and cooked to perfection. Their chicken biryani isn't a traditional dum biryani, but it's delicious in its own right with plenty of flavor. Don't skip the chai and gulab jamun--they're the perfect way to end the meal. There's almost always a line, which tells you how popular this place is with locals. I'd recommend calling ahead to get on the waitlist and save yourself some time. The restaurant has plenty of indoor seating, and despite how busy it gets, the food is consistently fresh, flavorful, and served at very reasonable prices. If you're craving authentic North Indian food in Vancouver, ChaCha's Tandoor & Grill is an absolute must-visit.

It was my first time having it and the savoury flavor profile was so intriguing. The mango shake was solid and good for cutting the spice of the dishes we got. Appetizers - chicken 65 was solid, hot and crispy and I loved the three sauces that came with it. The chicken samosa was also the perfect size and had a good amount of filling while keeping the crunch. Dosas - wow, the best in town! And so filling! The butter chicken dosa shocked me in terms of size and weight. The spinach masala dosa was also huge and I loved the thin crepe filled with spiced potatoes. Star of the show for sure! Mains - the biryani was also delicious as a rice dish and very filling. It went nicely with the veggie pakora, which was packed with crunch and spice. Overall amazing meal. Manpreet was also super kind and provided excellent service. Can't wait to come back to try more dosas - the menu is very extensive!!
