When I was buying the dress, I was told that it would be impossible to remove the train while maintaining the shape of the dress, so I had resigned myself to needing to add a bustle and would just wear it bustled the whole time. When I told Marya what I hoped for, she didn't blink an eye before saying she could remove the train and keep it even all the way around. When she showed me the dress to approve at my second appointment, I was truly speechless. It looked like it was designed that way and looked even better than I could have imagined. So already, she was a true wizard to me, but I ended up using her again to add a lining to another dress I bought for the courthouse, which I loved but had an inner bodysuit that was totally visible through the white fabric. She took out the bodysuit and added a lining so it was not only beautiful, but also way more comfortable to wear. She is an absolute magician, so professional and so incredibly talented. She then proceeded to tell me that she "may" be able to do it, but then looked at her calendar and said that she couldn't guarantee it. I honestly was so confused because she knew my wedding date when she booked this consultation appointment. If it wasn't something that could be done I feel she should've just told me up front rather than let me wait until the appointment. At that point I didn't even put up a fight as in the back of my mind, I knew I wouldn't have been comfortable with her altering my dresses anyways. She gave off the impression that if anything needed tweaking or wasn't to your satisfaction you would be SOL. All in all, a huge waste of my time. It would've been less of a bad experience if she wasn't so rude upfront. My son is tall and extremely slim so having his items tailored/altered is a must. The first initial visit was good however the pants were still baggy. So she had to take them in some more. I picked them up, my son still didn't like them so we went back for another fitting. She said she's never done skinny type pants on a suit before and said some costumers get upset. So she was scared to take them in more. We reassured her it was fine and that it wouldn't be a problem because this is how he likes his pants. Picked them up a third time and they are PERFECT! Since I did not know their process, I called first. The process for drop-offs/fittings and pick-ups is scheduled through the website. While on the call, I asked some questions and was provided with a good amount of information to feel confident about scheduling the appointment. The website scheduling process was simple. On the day that I dropped off my garment, the process was pretty quick. I tried on the item and we discussed the alterations. I think the entire visit was about 10-15 minutes. We discussed when I wanted to pick it up, as well as pricing and payment options. We verbally set a pickup day, but it also required a scheduled appointment, so I immediately set a specific appointment for a few days later. When I picked up the item, I tried it on and the alterations were exactly what I wanted. Needless to say, I am pleased with the alterations. I would definitely return. I paid using my phone, so it was great. Comparatively speaking, I think her prices are pretty competitve with other cleaners and tailors in the area.

TLDR: There are numerous reasons I've given such a low…read morerating, and why I would not go back. 1. Cost not reflective of quality or customer service (e.g. stitches ripping; dress hem should not have cost that much; dress should have been cleaned at that price point) 2. My needs/ expectations were not met (e.g. the stitches ripped and 1/2 of what I needed was not accomplished) 3. Lack of communication/ transparency (e.g. inability to communicate properly with the client) 4. Unfriendly environment/ hot space Here's the detailed review: I called beforehand to get an idea of what the price would be to alter a dress that needed to be hemmed and taken in slightly at the bust. I couldn't understand them well, as they barely speak English, but they wouldn't give me a price range over the phone. I asked if it would cost more than $50 - I just wanted something to go on. I thought they said it wouldn't go over $50. I get to the place, and it's a small, cramped, very hot space. The current owners (husband and wife) bought the store and kept the previous name, but no one there is the real Nina. In other words, the very old reviews are likely not reflective of the current staff or service. They had me put the dress on. Fortunately I had the foresight to bring the shoes I was going to wear with the dress. The marked the bottom of the dress for the hem. I practically had to force her to take me seriously that I wanted it taken in at the bust. With very little words exchanged (to me anyway - the husband and wife were communicating with each other the whole time, but I couldn't understand them at all, as they were speaking another language), and 0 reassurance that I was getting what I needed from this transaction, she wrote down on a piece of paper what the total cost was and tried to tell me. I misheard and thought she said $9.95. Nope, she said $95. To hem a dress 3" ($45) and take it in slightly at the bust ($35). I guess the rest was either an additional charge she didn't itemize, or something not properly communicated. I was FLOORED. She lowered it to $90 but was incapable of explaining why it was so expensive. She asked by when I needed it; the soonest she could get it to me was 2 weeks later. When I went to pick up the dress, she had me try it on. The dress was not cleaned (I specifically asked if they cleaned it), but hung in plastic that didn't cover the bottom of the dress. She zipped up the dress for me because with the bust alterations I couldn't zip it myself. Immediately the stitches at the bust started ripping and coming undone. She could hear them, but did not repair them. All of the stitches on one side of the bust ripped as I moved around in the store. By the time of the event, I was hiking the dress up every few minutes because it was sliding down - total waste of money! The hem looked fine, and the stitching was decent. Not worth the outrageous price, in my opinion. I paid with cash. I did not see an option to pay with credit card, and they did not vocalize it to me. When I didn't have all of the cash up front when I dropped it off (they wanted me to pay $95 and leave the dress with them!), I said I would bring the other half when I picked it up - during this time I imagine they would've mentioned I could pay with card, but they did not.
