First off, please note that this review is based only on the service as I did not get to try anything. Recently my family has become addicted to snow cones thanks to the Hokulia by our house in Riverton. We frequent them very often. This evening when my wife came home from a meeting she stopped by to get us something and was disappointed that they closed due to the weather. So we looked to see where else we could go knowing it was already 9:30pm on a Tuesday. I was excited to not only find Bahama Bucks, but also because they were open until 10:30pm and they had pretty positive reviews. I got my wife's order and headed over to Draper. When I pulled up it was very colorful and lit up...nice decor to set the island mood. However, that was about the extent of "my" mood for the evening. I pulled in the drive-thru and began going over the menu when about 20 seconds in a female voice came on and said, "I'm sorry, but we are already closed". I responded and said "but your website states that you're open until 1030pm." She replied with "Yeah, that was before the school year." It was 10:02pm....if your times changed then you should update your website to reflect that. And if a customer shows up because of that and it's 2 minutes since you closed, do the right thing and serve the customer. They shouldn't be inconvenienced because of your neglect. Finally, it wasn't super far to drive to, but it was still 5 miles and incredibly disappointing. We will stick with Hokulia. read more

Bahama bucks is as close to the true islands shave ice as it gets. It's like eating snow! The flavors are delicious and there's quite the variety. They let you have more flavoring if you'd like (the only reason I'm giving 4 stars instead of 5 stars is because a couple of times I've gone and there wasn't enough flavoring and I hit pure snow. I REALLY hate leaving this review, because I've met the owners several times and they are so nice and do a great job making your order, but this location has gone down hill these past few months. We've have been to many Bahamas's bucks in Texas, so we knew what to expect when it opened here in draper. My go to favorite is the birthday cake Bahamas's Rama mama, and when this location first opened they were done perfectly! But the last 8 times (no joke) they have been a disaster! It looks like it was made 15 minutes ago and is handed to us a sloppy, melty mess. Literally it was dripping all over the place when the young male handed it to us through the drive thru. They had to have known because it was all over his hands also and didn't even think to hand us some napkins. This has everyone lately. If I was a first timer, I would definitely not be back. He'd been asking me for over two weeks to take him there, so tonight was our night. Sadly a disappointment!!! I'm going to assume here that they spent way too much money on their real-estate, which forced them to make their own blocks of ice using the tap water of their sink. Stopped in today for the first time. Love the overall island vibe. My kids ordered their traditional shave ice and it was so soft and powdery. Also ordered a small pina colada smoothie with ice cream. The flavor was pretty good and I love the whip cream and cherry on top. I hate leaving bad reviews but I was so disappointed with Bahama Buck's. My husband convinced me to try Bahama Buck's a few nights ago, I usually love sno cones so I decided to give it a try! First it wasn't busy at all. There was only about two people in the restaurant and we were the only ones in the drive thru. We ordered a watermelon snowie and I ordered a frozen strawberry lemonade. After paying for our treats it took us 13 minutes to get them. The cashier didn't even apologize or tell us it would be a minute. After we drove away we were hoping that our frozen treats would make up for the wait as poor customer service, but they were disgusting. Took us more than 40 minutes to receive our orders, the customers 5-6 people behind us got theirs before we did and the people in front of us never even got theirs and had to come back up to complain. We yet again have come to bahama bucks (BB), the person tells us to wait and we have waited 10 min and no-one is at the counter ordering. If you want to be extremely humiliated go here. They have terrible service and treat you like crap. I've been multiple times hoping for a better experience each time but it is always just as awful. The last time I went there I found many fruit flies in my drink. I showed the guy, but he and his friends were messing around throwing snow balls and one hit me. I have a few friends who have been raving about this place for the last few months so I figured it was time to try it out. I was pretty impressed. I love love love shaved ice and theirs was really amazing. It was shaved so thin that it was almost soft. The baby size was perfect for me and my 3 kids who got that size. I lived in Arizona and was so excited to see it come to Draper. but when I come in and the place is nearly empty of customers but there are several kids working, and it takes 20 minutes to get a small Bahama mama rama because the staff of high schoolers are too busy talking to their friends, and I then have to take it back because there is very little syrup on it, it makes me rethink wanting to come here. The last couple times I have come there have been teenagers camped out in the line or by the cash register talking with the staff and slowing down the service. The staff consists of high schoolers who curse so loud for all to hear, a bit unprofessional, also they had 8 employees on a rainy dead weekday afternoon and kept cars waiting in the drive through, inside the store there was only 1 other table being used and still took about 10 min for the minimum wage workers to do their job. All of them just talking and swearing like they were hanging out and not at a job in a business. Kids were in the store and F bombs were flying. It's definitely a teen hang out spot, which can not be so fun depending on what time you're there but doesn't take away from how good their shaved ice is! The service has really gone downhill in recent months. Today when we received our order at the drive thru window it was wrong, and when I explained the error to the young cashier, she said, "Oh," and abruptly closed the window in my face. The teenage employees are in dire need of customer service training, and the "Tip Cup" taped to the window is SO off-putting. I have come to this location two times now. I thought that maybe this time would be better. Sadly it wasn't. The shaved ice was great. The service was horrible. It took nearly 30 minutes from the time I pulled up to getting my order, and I only ordered one shaved ice. While ordering at the drive-thru I had to repeat myself twice and then on the third attempt the girl taking my order started joking through the headsets with another employee. Then told me her headset cut out and she couldn't hear me when she really wasn't even listening. At the window she took my card and handed me my order after about 10 minutes and shut the window.
