Absolutely absurd drive thru wait. Every single time I come here, I end up waiting an unreasonable amount of time for a damn snow cone.

Time to retrain the employees, I get that each shaved ice may not feel spectacularly important to the high school kid making it, but it's beginning to effect your brand Mark. This is the second time in two weeks that I've had to have the kid remake the product, two attempts last visit, three attempts this time. And they still weren't acceptable, I just gave up. I'm sad to have to report this about my favorite shaved ice spot, but it really is time to address the standards guys. read more

Came her with my six year old (today July 3rd at 12:00 on the dot) who got a student reward card for a free 12oz product. We ordered his and then I joined the rewards club for a free product so my other kids could share it. The free student shaved ice wasn't even free. They charge you for the toppings that come with whatever you order. So then I had to explain to my 6 year old he doesn't get pop rocks on top since it would be over a dollar for a few pop rocks sprinkled and we are on a budget. Not awesome. I joined the rewards club ahead of time in the parking lot and fill out all my info because the paper I brought with me said verbatim "free product any size just for joining" but I joined and there is no coupon, nothing pops up in the app or anything. The cashier just said "sorry" So we canceled the order besides the shave ice for the student reward without the toppings and it ended with my three kids sharing one small cup of shave ice. It was sad. They overpromised on everything and then 100% under delivered. Super lame especially considering we spent an hour driving total to get there and back. read more

This place is amazing. Everything I have ordered from here has been a hit. I especially appreciate that they have a large number of sugar free options that don't take away from the taste or experience. The one issue I have is that there isn't ever an adult working there and the teenagers disappear into the back for quite some time, so it's almost impossible to get more or help if you need it. read more

Living outside of Utah, but traveling there a large percentage of my year, gives me such a unique perspective on the food in Utah. I love Utah food. There is a wide array of different foods. This is because you have many people who move to Utah from other countries, as well as having a large portion of the population that spends two years outside of the state, often in different countries. This creates a demand for unique foods. Utah also has what I would term, viral foods. These are foods that become viral hits (The Soda shops, In-N-Out, etc). Bahama Bucks is one such viral hit. We had been trying to marry our schedule with a time when we could go to a Bahama Bucks. We were finally able to do it on a Monday. There are lots and lots of choices. You would do well to go and look at photos and recommendations before you go. Otherwise you may get overwhelmed with all the choices. I got a small (which was fairly big), with Tiger's Blood and watermelon, and ice cream in the middle. It was good. It's all that I expect in a shaved ice restaurant. We finished all of our shaved ice off ( there were three of us) in pretty short order. I will be stopping by again to try other combos. read more

This was my first Bahama Buck's experience. This place is sooo delicious! I ordered the flavor of the day: Bob Marley (Jamaican Rum with Jamaican Punch). Of course I added the Tropical Cream - yum!! Definitely a new favorite dessert shop! My husband added sour sand to his warhead flavors - a great combo for any of you super sour fans! A little sticky on the inside and you have to wait in line for quite a while if it's busy but do NOT let this deter you. Bahama Buck's will not disappoint. I am forever changed. Tonight I had a Bahama Buck's desert for the very first time. I did my research before going and I ordered Sugar Cookie with cinnamon with the ice cream. It was the best thing I've ever had. My taste buds danced and celebrated every bite. Others in my crew ordered Tigers Blood and Pina Colada. All were fantastic. I was grateful for the suggestion for what I ordered. I'd be curious to learn what are some of the staff favorites for future ordering! I also appreciated the family environment and the prices were good. A large could serve two of my kids. The challenge is getting them to agree on the same flavors! This is normally one of my favorite places, and normally I try to be understating of places when things are slow and what not. But I waited an hour in the line + having to still get my snow cone. They didn't even get my order right, and when I looked inside the windows they were talking and messing around and when I was leaving I saw 2 people outside just talking and messing around. This is ridiculous & even though they have good snow cones I will not be going back. If I could, I would give them 0 star! Maybe they should consider training their staff better. I had never heard of a Bahama Bucks until today and decided to try it for dessert. They have a ton of flavors and have all of the classic add ins. The small is more than enough, so you're also getting a lot for your money. I'm excited to know that come December I'll still be able to get a shaved ice when all of the other shaved ice huts are closed for the season. My only complaint is that they got both mine and my husband's order wrong, but the downside is that by the time you figure out that they put the wrong flavor in, you've eaten quite a bit and feel bad for asking for a new one. read more

So awesome. I ordered something that had red food coloring in it, and I didn't realize until I got the drink. They looked into it and found it was in fact the kind my husband is allergic to. They have a line of natural shaved ice that doesn't have food coloring in it, and they happily switched flavors for us even after the original drink was made Super friendly people. Nice and clean. We love Bahama Bucks on any day. They have a huge selection of flavors and everything I have had is delicious. The atmosphere is fun with an island theme. Most of the clientele are teenagers in the evening and it seems to be a local hangout. The only complaint is that the wait tends to be a little long. Great shaved ice! But glaring health code violations by the young staff. Just from the drive thru window we observed one female employee wipe her nose with her shirt. Another female employee's hair was not pulled back off of her face, and she repeatedly ran her fingers through, and played with her hair while taking customers orders. One of the workers scratched her butt, later she scoops too much ice cream so tries to press it down with her butt scratching finger just to realize it won't fit so she takes it out of the cup and puts it back into the freezer!!!! This brightly colored, sunny location serves some delicious shaved ice and smoothies. I love that they offer dairy free, sugar free, and other dietary options. This place is sugar overload. Menu is so overwhelming with too many choices of flavors and items. The shaved ice is delicious, very smooth, almost the consistency of a slighty frozen icee. I got a Tigers blood shaved ice with ice cream, they hardly put any ice cream in it which is annoying for the amount they charge for it. I ordered an avalanche size bahama colada with strawberries. It was pretty good! Not the best pina colada I've ever had but definitely not the worst. From my sister raving to me about this place, I fully anticipated it earning 5 stars, however, I don't think they have quite earned it yet. Dont get me wrong, I really liked Bahama Bucks. The shaved ice was very fine and they had tons of flavors. They had just about every combination you could imagine, including a scoop of ice cream on the bottom. I was really impressed with their prices too - much better than other places. I liked the indoor seating and the large booth seating and corner tables for big groups. Although I genuinely liked the shaved ice, I didn't love it. Only a few bites in and the whole middle section was dry. They were glad to add more flavor but it would have been nice to have it right the first time. The ice cream on the bottom wasn't the greatest quality. It was kind of hard and didn't melt in my mouth very well. It almost tasted like Western family brand. They had a ton of people working behind the counter but somehow we still had to wait in line behind 7 or 8 people for 20 minutes or so. They could have easily pumped us through quicker. Overall this is a great shaved ice place, just a few things they could do better. Hopefully I'll return in the future and see a 5 star establishment! read more

Their slushie drinks are heavenly. I am a creature of habit & have only ever gotten the toasted coconut. I have also tasted my daughter's cherry flavored one. I always get mine mixed with the sweet cream / condensed milk (?), & have them put a scoop of ice cream at the bottom. I get the kid's size because their cups are so big. You just can't go wrong here. Best shaved ice you will ever have! The only issue I ever really have here is a long wait, and that is mostly in the summer. During one of my last visits, there was only one person working the entire store by herself, drive thru and inside. I waited in the drive-thru for a VERY long time, and I felt so bad for the girl who was working all by herself. Hopefully they don't make that kind of scheduling mistake again!! I don't know what the process is for shaving ice, but unless they are freezing water when you order it shouldn't take that long for five employees to put together orders. I heard about Bahama Buck's from a company that I worked for last year. So, when I saw that we finally had one, I had to take my kids there for the first snowcone of the year! We orderd a strawberry cheesecake snowcone with cream and a toasted coconut snowcone with cream. Both flavors were outstanding. I'd like to maybe try some other menu items. One thing that I was surprised at was that the syrup didn't go to the center of the snowcone. Both had a core of ice that had no syrup. You know what I think the problem is? I don't really love snow cones... I like them, I just don't crave them. This is a Hawaiian ice joint and although my wife loves them, I'm not the most hugest fan. I really wish I did love them. I always enjoy eating most of it. I say most of it because by the end I'm so so tired of eating sugar ice and I can't enjoy the ice cream at the bottom. So, I avoided the shaved ice and got the smoothie.
