The bagels and schmear from B&J has me in a chokehold. Y'all... try the apple cinnamon bagel toasted with brown sugar schmear and thank me later. My first sandwich here was the classic bagel and lox on a Asiago bagel with dill schmear. It was soo yummy, but I think the smoked salmon was too salty for me. Could've been the batch I had. I've also made a custom breakfast sandwich with the jalapeno bagel, basil aioli, tomato, sausage, egg, American cheese. I would so order it again and again. The coffee is okay, nothing spectacular. I think they could add more flavored coffees, but that's coming from a girl who loves sweet coffee. The food here however, 10 out of 10. Ambiance is chill, welcoming, relaxing. I love coming here and seeing the older folks enjoying each others company while playing board games. It might be my favorite thing ever.

Visited on Easter staff was very attentive and quickly greeted us as we came in. It was pretty busy with half the tables full. We ordered a breakfast sandwich and iced coffee and chi. Employees were friendly. The sandwich was delicious, great flavor and cheese selection. Made fresh when ordered, asiago bagel was soft with the perfect browning without being tough. I enjoyed the Cadbury cold foam added a fun option to treat myself on my white mocha. The atmosphere was very relaxed and even though it was busy, perfect for light conversation without bothering others.

Convenient location on Old Cheney. Friendly staff and great selection of bagels and schmears. Bagels are chewy and flavorful - pretty solid for Lincoln! Lots of coffee, tea, and smoothie options as well - nothing too over-the-top, but they get the job done. Lots of seating and bright surroundings with windows along two main walls.

Had a little mommy-and-me date with my mini at Bagels & Joe and it was the perfect stop. We love the bagels, the coffee is always great, and the atmosphere is cozy and welcoming. It's one of those places that makes for an easy, fun little outing together. Definitely one of our favorite spots!

Cute bagel and coffee place. Biggest complaint was I had no idea you were supposed to wait at the one counter and order so I wasted about 20 minutes standing at the cash register just to have to go to the end of the line, only to discover there's a pick up station that's not labeled. So some signage would be nice for new customers. Besides that blunder the food was excellent and drinks were delicious. Lots of seating or can easily order to go. Would recommend buying extra smear for your bagel, but that's from a native NYer who loves a lot of smear. Would recommend.

Great place to catch up with friends. Noticed this location does get busier than the rest, but service and food quality has remained consistent throughout the years.

plain bagel with cake batter, asiago bagel with garlic parmesan, and everything bagel with cucumber dill

not pictured is the breakfast sandwich bagel that we absolutely tore up! the asiago with garlic parmesan cream cheese was so savory! we also got the everything bagel with cucumber dill cream cheese & it was also super yummy! my favorite was the plain bagel with the cake batter cream cheese. they absolutely did not skimp out on any cream cheese. it was the perfect amount of sweetness! we obviously couldn't finish everything but we wanted to try a variety. if i had unlimited amounts of room in my stomach, i would've cleared the table

Love their pizza. Course I never met a pizza I didn't like!! Lots more great choices, on their menu.read more

For many years, The Eatery has been a fixture in east-central Lincoln. I'd heard plenty of positive…read morecomments about the restaurant over the years, so I finally decided to stop in for lunch and see what it was all about. Unfortunately, the first impression could use some improvement. Upon entering, guests step into a small lobby with two interior doors--one designated as the entrance and the other as the exit. Once inside, a host greets you, hands you a menu, and escorts you to your table. Along the way, you pass the restaurant's salad bar, which should serve as an inviting showcase of the food offered inside. Instead, the salad bar was the low point of my visit. On the day I was there, it appeared messy and poorly maintained. A salad bar requires constant attention to keep it looking fresh, attractive, and clean, and that simply wasn't the case during my visit. Given its prominent location, it creates an impression that management should work harder to improve. The Eatery's menu, however, is extensive and impressive. There's truly something for everyone. The unlimited salad bar is priced at $14.99, or $7.99 when added to an entrée. Based on what I observed, that seemed a bit steep, so I decided to pass. Instead, I ordered the Smokey Chicken Stacker with fries on the recommendation of my server. It turned out to be an excellent choice. The sandwich was flavorful, the fries were perfectly prepared, and the meal arrived at my table less than ten minutes after ordering--a testament to an efficient kitchen. Overall, I came away believing that The Eatery serves solid food, but the décor, atmosphere, and overall layout feel somewhat dated and uninspiring. The appearance of the salad bar was the biggest negative of the experience for me. Would I return? If I lived or worked in the neighborhood, probably yes. However, since I don't, it's unlikely that I would make a special trip back.

Still one of the best patio stops in the summer in Lincoln when you want to chill and enjoy…read morebeautiful weather outside, there is plenty of space to not feel stuck close to others. As said before, food prices/drinks can be a bit more on the pricier side but overall everything is good. This time I tried the breaded mushrooms, good quality breading and included big button mushrooms. The Caesar salad with chicken is decent, the dressing is just not my favorite. I loved the pineapple jalepeno mule, comes with chunks of fresh jalepeno. The raspberry whisp was okay, just seemed a bit watered down. I do enjoy their selection of beers which includes fun flavors like the mango habanero IPA. Service was great again, we were there during a shift change, closed out with our first server so we could tip, and she made sure to bring another server to switch and take care of us.

Wife went light and had rhe humus tray with Naan and veggies. Looked nice. I had the kicked burger (aoli on the side) with onion rings. Topped it off with a nice pint of pilsner. The burger was great. Loved the bacon and jalapeno. Perfectly cooked. The onion rings yall was off the chart. Hand battered in house and fried to perfection. They had multiple tvs showing all the games. And our waiter Brett was awesome.
