Peanut Butter Bagel with Peanut Butter Cream Cheese
Claudia B.

Don't know what to order from Bagel & Blenderz because there's so many options? The correct answer is the peanut butter bagel with peanut butter cream cheese! I say that hole-heartedly (get it). Anyways, a coworker introduced me to that order and to this place and it has been a favorite! They get busy in the mornings, but the service has always been great. There's nothing like the smell of toasted bagels in the morning to start your day.

It's been a few years since eating at Bagels & Blenderz but a friend recently brought some to a play date with our kiddos and literally brought back the bagel addiction. My current favorites have been the morning starter breakfast sandwich with a rosemary bagel & strawberry sunrise smoothie and my family loves the banana nut bagel. Little far from home but worth the drive and honestly a great meal to start the day.

I'm not sure how it's taken me this long to get a breakfast sandwich from Bagels & Blenderz, but wow I have been missing out! I grabbed The Morning Starter on an everything bagel and was engulfed in deliciousness. I highly recommend and can't wait to try more of their bagel sandwiches. I also grabbed a peanut butter bagel, a must for me when stopping by. The spinach bagel is another longtime favorite, and I think I'll need another trip in the near future just for it. There was a bit of a line when I walked in, to be expected from such a popular spot during peak breakfast hours. That being said, they always work through the line quickly and I got my order fast from the friendly folks behind the counter. Which worked out great since I was in a bit of a morning hurry.

Love this place! Every time we're in town we have to stop by here and bring bagels back home to LA. As a native New Yorker I love their sesame bagels and scallion cream cheese. They have lots of pastry and coffee options. There's also tables inside or outside to enjoy your food.

Bagels and Blender is a Bakersfield staple. I keep coming back here for years for their peanut butter bagels. There bagels are soft and chewy versus others who have tough, bagels. They offer sandwiches, salads, smoothies and coffee as well. Today we had the breakfast sandwich with Canadian bacon on an everything bagel. So good! Because their popularity, expect a long line from the counter to the door and allow time to wait. One breakfast sandwich and 2 bagels took 15 minutes on a Sunday morning around 10 am. You can see the workers moving quickly and it's totally worth the wait.

This place is a Bakersfield staple. They offer delicious, fresh bagels in so many flavors, baked cookies, and so much more. My favorite is the bacon breakfast burrito. It's super simple, stuffed with eggs, cheese, and bacon, but it's so good! They also have a really great garden vegetable cream cheese that pairs well with several of their bagels. It's so savory and a great addition! It's always busy but well staffed and the employees are always hustling back there!

Every time I go to B&B I wonder why I do not go more often. My daughter & I popped in on a Saturday around 8:30am, and it was packed and buzzing, but we were able to get our order in without too much of a wait. While I was in line I eyed what I thought to be a slice of yellow cake loaf. It was labeled lemon, so I took the chance they mislabeled it and was right. Yay! Yellow cake like this is my ultimate favorite and it just made my day. It was delicious and all the right things. Yum! I also ordered a #4 smoothie with papaya. It was just right. My daughter ordered a matcha latte but felt it was a little light on the matcha. Her breakfast bagel sandwich was tasty, but I noticed the bacon was the packaged pre-cooked kind and I really think a place like B&B should take the time to cook their bacon and not take it out of a package. It was super foggy but we still opted to sit at a small table on the patio. It was nice and made me wish we could bottle this cold weather to use on a warm August day.

On a recent morning visit I had the Breakfast Bagel with bacon (on a jalapeño bagel) and an iced coffee. They serve Pete's Coffee and it was great. The breakfast sandwich was pretty good. Plenty of bacon, which was chopped small and piled on the egg. I didn't really love the jalapeño bagel, so next time I would just order an everything bagel or something more classic. Overall it's a good breakfast sandwich though. They have a fairly large breakfast menu with multiple options (sandwiches and more). In terms of savory breakfast choices they have more variety than most other coffeeshop/order-at-the-counter places I've been too in Bakersfield (which seem to mostly just offer sweets). Another nice thing about going here for breakfast is that there seems to be plenty of seating. Even though it was very busy, it seemed like most people were taking food to go. I had my choice of a table inside or one on the patio. I sat outside in the shade on a cool morning and it was nice. The biggest downside is that they are not very fast, especially when it gets busy. There was a pretty long wait, both before and after ordering. Overall Bagels & Blenderz is a solid place to get a breakfast sandwich and a coffee, so long as you're not in a hurry. On other occasions I have just stopped in to pick up some bagels and cream cheese to go, and that tends to be faster (and their classic bagel flavors are solid). My family and I will definitely visit again the next time we are going out for breakfast.

3/10 my sister over hyped this location for me. Bagels were thick and hard Drink was delicious Cheese pocket was a better version then the ones they sell at Costco The donut was whatever Total $20 for everything Not bad Ambiance It was packed for a Wednesday at 11 am Service was quick and friendly

I ordered a 12 count pack of bagels with a strawberry cream cheese and a regular cream cheese. The banana nut bagel is honestly one of my favorites, it's sweet and soft. Best part is that these bagels are handmade fresh daily. They are pretty quick at taking people's orders, so the line goes by quick. It's a bit modern on the inside and they have seating on the outside.

Rosemary Heaven

I really loved the rosemary bagel! It was soft and warm. The rosemary wasn't overpowering, it was nice and aromatic. I liked how clean the place is. All the bagels look fresh. I wish the rosemary heaven had a bit more bacon and cheese. I was left wanting more bacon in each bite. It was almost 4 stars but a solid 3 for a tasty, fresh bagel.

I use to live in Bakersfield and although it's huge town healthy restaurants are not easy to find. I found this place on Yelp. My daughter and I decided to give it a try. The location was odd but we went in anyway. Wow, we are so pleased that we did. The atmosphere was breezy and clean. Minimalist and modern. The staff was personal and professional, yet friendly. The food was delicious. We had the pancakes and oatmeal brûlée. Absolutely perfect. You can taste the extra passion they put into their food. It tasted like dessert but was a healthy breakfast made with clean ingredients. Loved it! We will be back for sure!

Overall, a clean and elegant environment but the service, portions and quality were lacking.

A Hidden Gem in Downtown Bakersfield!…read more Stumbled upon Cafe Smitten in downtown Bakersfield, and what a delightful discovery! The atmosphere is absolutely charming! A perfect blend of rustic, modern, and cozy, with exposed brick walls, warm wooden accents, and a beautiful outdoor patio. It's the kind of place where you can enjoy a good meal, sip your coffee, read a book, and completely lose track of time. The food was fresh and delicious, the iced coffee hit the spot, and the staff were genuinely friendly and welcoming. What I particularly loved was the attention to detail, from the presentation of the food to the thoughtfully curated merchandise and displays celebrating local creativity. As an author myself, I couldn't help but notice their support for local creatives. It got me thinking: wouldn't it be wonderful to see my novel, The Last Rendezvous, on one of their shelves someday? Especially since Bakersfield plays such an important role in my story. My main character grew up here, calls this city home, and much of her journey unfolds right here in the Central Valley. Perhaps a little literary collaboration is in order someday! But beyond my wishful thinking, Cafe Smitten is genuinely worth visiting. Great food, welcoming people, beautiful surroundings, and a personality that makes it stand out. Definitely a place I'd happily return to. Downtown Bakersfield needs more gems like this!

Toasted is located in the shopping area on Panama with a lot of shops and a very large Chevron. You can't miss it, down from the McDonald's. When people are waiting for a seat, you know it's going to be good. We were behind 6 other small groups and got seated in about 20 minutes. The staff was pleasant and working hard to keep the tables turning over. I appreciate that, especially when people are waiting. There is a lot of seating. They have maximized the space but it doesn't feel crowded. We ordered the Papasito and Cali Benedicts and steel cut oats. Everything tasted amazing. The eggs were spot on and all of the ingredients and seasonings were what you would expect. The table next to us ordered a burger and it was massive and looked like a picture.
