I'm not sure if the business was sold to others but I preordered bagels and sides and spoke to 3 different people. I confirmed everything would be ready for pick up the next morning at 5:30. Well.... when my husband and I came in, our order wasn't even being worked on! We had to wait, retell the order for the 5th time and then be told by the lady that we should have paid when making the order as if that was our job. Let's take accountability! Amazing! I moved out of NY 11 years ago so when I come visit, a NY bagel is a must! I got a cinnamon raisin bagel with eggs, bacon, CREAM cheese, tomato onions and spinach and wow! Messy but finger living delicious. The servers were super sweet and attentive. Was able to get a seat at a booth by myself because it's seems more like a grab and go spot. Lots of natural light. Unsettling but gave them another chance today, same tiny clear bugs, so I left and went to Cino's in Oceanside (not bad). The Bagelry owner should invest in an exterminator as soon as possible. So the food is good which would have given 4-5 stars but i ordered 2x this past weekend and both orders were WRONG! The first order was missing one scone when I ordered two and both sandwiches were supposed to be on flats which I paid extra, which didn't come on flats the next day I ordered again and I called up the store just to make sure and a young lady answered and said she would take care of it. On this order, which was the exact same order for which I paid extra for the two flats ,for the two sandwiches ,and they would check, on the receipt there were check marks but no one actually looked and apparently checked by a young lady, they put plain bagels. On both days I paid extra and on both days I was shorted. What's worse as I called up and the young lady said she would double check it herself. When the old owner was there this was my go to place. The bagels seem the same and that's good but they do not understand orders so well and they round up the change. For example I ordered something that came out to be 1194 they called it 12 dollars. Now I know that's not a lot but if I am one person and they do this all day they have e made Probably an extra 10-15 dollars on customers. Decided to try a new bagel shop this week. They have these mini bagels which I think is a genius idea actually. I am not the type of finish a regular bagel in one seating, but I can eat a mini bagel. I bought a few of the mini ones. They have an ample selection of cream cheeses, and I went with the Lox and also raisin Walnut. I would have tried Tuna salad on a bagel but the tuna salad looked too mushed up...like the tuna has been pulverized and the batch just looked "creamy" for my liking. Next day the bagels were a bit hardened which was a bit of disappointment. I did pop it back into toaster and it softened back up a bit but not still sorta hard. The bagels I normally get at the other shop stays soft for a few days after purchase. These were the mini-bagels not sure if that's the way the regular sized bagels perform. If you are buying bagels to eat right then, sure. But if not, you may end up some hard bagels the next day. Lots of cream cheeses and they have then in the fridge to go as well. read more

I love the Bagelry's bagels! They're super flavorful, the perfect chewiness, and when you get them warm, basically perfect. They have both bagels and flats (if you like more surface area for your toppings, but less fluffy insides), and a good assortment of cream cheeses and other toppings, as well as fixings for sandwiches. They also have a lot of pastries, if you're in the mood for something sweet. It's a small shop, so I recommend planning on getting your bagels to go. The new owners are doing a very good job. The bagels are fresh and the line moves fast. I have witnessed something that I believe is disturbing at least 3 times. The first time was around Christmas a woman handed a 10 dollar tip to the woman that manages instead of putting in the jar she looked around for the help and put in her pocket I have seen her do this a couple other times with bigger tips. Overall, my last several experiences have been so uncomfortable I am not going back. The bagels, while generally good (not great), do not warrant such an unpleasant experience in ordering. So that there is no confusion in my review, my ratings are as follows: Food: 4 stars Delivery Service: 2 stars (I'm more inclined to give 1 star, but feel it isn't fair to the kitchen staff who are making the food) Unfortunately, the one thing that's going to knock an otherwise 4 or 5 star review down to a 3 is the friendliness of the delivery driver. Pretty sure I get the same guy when I order delivery, and he is consistently impatient, tense, and irritable. He likely doesn't look at the instructions (fair enough, delivery is a busy 'get going, get in, get out' kind of job), but at LEAST, when he calls my cell phone, he could try not to yell at me 'hey! I'm here! Your food! Can you come down or something?! - What do you mean dial the intercom, I called you!!' *once again, this was before the contactless delivery measures were put in place. My delivery experience this morning was just as poor, but I would be wasting time detailing that one Always rude, always irritated, always unpleasant to deal with. The ham egg and cheese on a flagel that I got here was out of this WORLD. This place is everything I look for in a Long Island bagel place-- the service was quick (even with a long line), my flagel was perfectly toasted, and the cheese perfectly melted. Other reviews mention the price being expensive, but since I'm used to city prices, I would be more than happy to pay the price I paid for my bagel! I have never had a decent order from this place. When I was pregnant they refused to toast a bagel for me because "why would you want to ruin a fresh bagel". It's my bagel I can "ruin" it if I want to? My husband got breakfast this morning and it was inedible. As of lately, this place has increased their prices, making it one of the more expensive bagel shops in the region, while selling nearly average bagels for the price. To give a brief break down of their prices since they don't make them easily available to customers, their bagels are around $4.25 with cream or whatever regular spread you would like, so the bagels by themselves are around $3.90. Coffee and other drinks are at most $2.50, and their sandwichs range from $5.50 to $10 depending on what you are getting. As for their pastries, their at most $2.50, containers of cream cheese are around $10, and other miscellaneous items range anywhere from $2 to a little over $10. As for the quality of the bagels, they are made fresh from decent ingredients, but get hard very quickly. I've gone here early and later in the day and the bagels, and earlier is definitely the way to go, especially if you get your bagel toasted, less you want a hard to chew bagel. There have been cases where they've overcooked the bagels, and there also have been cases where the bagels vary drastically in size. There have also been cases where the bagels tasted as if they had been frozen overnight, and defrosted for the next day.The bagels overall have a nearly bland to salty taste, often a bit tough, and require a lot of napkins. They use a good chunk of cream cheese, often on the salty side, so if you get a bagel that contains rock salt you may not be too please. Their coffee is a step above a mr.coffee machine and their pastries are store bought. Their sandwichs tend to be very good and are very densely loaded so they maybe the best value, just make sure they charge you the right amount. Overall, this place gets 2 stars because its very overpriced. so here are some tips. First- don't buy any fish product as they have not been known to be the most fresh, second- don't buy their containers of cream cheese, at $10 for maybe an 8oz container its certainly not a good value proposition, third- double check with the person helping you about pricing, sometimes they have been known to overcharge by more than a few dollars, fourth- be prepared to spend quite a bit of money, I've seen people come in and spend well over $20 for a few items, fifth- if you are coming here early in the day, be prepared to what quite a bit of time, even with 5 other people in line in takes over 10 minutes, lastly- perhaps don't tip, especially if you feel compelled by seening other customers tipping, you never know if your experience here will just be them taking your money and never saying another word to you, or them actually respecting your money and service, especially at their high prices. read more

The BEST bagels in Nassau County. PERIOD! Great crust, chewy inside and if you like garlic bagels -- this is the place to get them. They also make a great "flat" bagel covered (both sides), in their wonderful seeds (except for garlic.) The do all sorts of eggs / bacon sandwiches all day long and have a nice selection of prepared salads (i.e. tuna, egg, chicken, etc.) Nice selection of cream cheeses, good coffee, and they have a refrigerated case with a variety of drinks, lox and other toppings to take home (although a bit expensive.) They have a nice selection of "mishes" (green salad with chicken salad, etc. and a made to order green salad bar. They have GREAT staff there and take really good care of you. But they still NEED a GARLIC FLAT to add to their line-up of yummy bagels. read more
