Poppy Seed Bagel with quarter pound of lox- very reasonably priced
    Najwa G.

Bagelette is a tucked away old school bagel shop that is easily one of the best bagel stores in the neighborhood (unless you want to trek to Forest Hills). It is a no frills bagel shop which to be frank the best ones are. I got a poppy seed lox and scallion cream cheese with capers. Yes, I've had better bagels but for that price point it was spot on and you could tell that the lox was fresh. If I'm ever in the area I would stop by again.

A neighborhood shop for good bagels, sandwiches and salads. It's a no frills place serving comfort food. Sam made me an exceptional lox and cream cheese platter with salads and vegetables. Accompanied with an assortment of bagels. Excellent for any occasion. It was a lovely presentation and most of all...delicious! Thanks Sam.

Consistent bagels with the variety you'd expect. They have an abnormally diverse selection of cream cheese. I was unsure about trying this place because of the so-so reviews about service, but the gentleman who served us during both visits was incredibly kind and friendly. It's amazing to watch them work behind the counter. In addition to the bagels we tried the hash browns, which were also good. They charge a convenience fee for credit cards.

Pumpernickel bagel toasted with jalapeño cream cheese and a slice of tomato

Love the bagels but the spread really kicks butt! Ordered a pumpernickel bagel with jalapeño cream cheese plus a slice of tomato and oooof that cream cheese had such a nice kick of spice! Creamy, not salty, full of jalapeños and smooth between two toasty bagel slices. So curious about the other spreads, came back for a pumpernickel bagel with the white fish spread. Like are you serious??? It's so smooth, light and not salty at all! Tasted amazing and I'm curious about all the other spreads and maybe just go back tomorrow to try out more!! Friendly workers! Ordered there and got it to go, easy peasy! Floor markings for six feet distancing. Love it! Go check out this mom and pop shop!

Bagel place in Rego Park. It was big mistake to have breakfast there. Instead of everything bagel it was bagel with two poppyseed. Dill garlic and herbs cream cheese was so watery and no flavor.

He place looks ugly and even a bit dingy, but the bagels, cream cheese, and baked goods are solid. Never had anything bad from this place.

Their cookies and assorted pastry fare are buttery, flaky and rich, but it's the bagels and bialys that are the hot ticket.

I observed a lot of staff behind the counter and they were moving and shaking with great customer service. The store had a little bit of everything that a corner store/deli would sell. I noticed a vegan menu, waffles and pancakes, chips, fresh baked items, assorted cream cheese and hot and cold drinks. They also had a lunch menu with a variety of sandwiches. I ordered a toasted French toast bagel with peanut butter. I also ordered a strawberry bagel for the next day. I also purchased a cranberry and coconut butter cookie. Everything was fresh and delicious. I never had a strawberry bagel and it wasn't sweet. It tasted like a plain bagel with color, lol. Overall, I would check this spot out again and try some different menu items.

Lots to choose off the menu- sandwiches, bagels and there is even fresh baked pastries and goodies on the other end of counter and a wall of cold drinks to choose from. We ordered a reg bagel w/cream cheese, 2 bacon egg and cheese on reg bagel and everything bagel with bacon egg and chive cream cheese. There is seating in the front in the patio. We ate in the car while we head to the train station- everything was delicious - the eggs were bit over cooked but overall everything hit. Nothing like starting our NY trip with a NY bagel!

There are certain gimmicks that I don't subscribe to, which is any kind of fusion in bagel form…read more (#1) Between The Bagel proved me wrong, in a way that I haven't fully yet recovered and as a result has become a go-to destination for me whenever I'm back in Astoria. They've done such an outstanding job across the board (customer service, price, food, etc.) that I am constantly thinking about going back. Located on the constantly busy (#2) 30th Ave, one wouldn't notice this place as being any different from any other bagel shop. There's hardly any seating but a steady stream of customers all throughout the day. The NSFW signage (#3) keeps the place fresh and interesting, if not extremely memorable. The first thing that is offered (and often complimentary) is their fried rice balls, dubbed "Ben's Balls" that are mixed with seasoned rice, kimchi, topped with a gochujang mayo that would wake up any sleepyhead. Each bite had a nice crunch, but the lingering effect of the kimchi makes it addicting. It is the ultimate complementary snack, a desired, potluck item, and frankly genius. This is not something I would ever consider getting out a bagel shop, but having had them I would gladly buy them by the dozens. Most folks are here for the Seoul Meets Bagel (SMB) and rightfully so: it's layered with chopped bulgogi meat, cheese, egg, kimchi, topped with gochujang mayo and is packed with flavor. While the dank ass pork sandwich is a crude name, but it's not hard to see why it's one of their best sellers. Their regular bagels are also excellent. Folks who are expecting a large variety of cream cheese may find it disappointing that there's only a handful in the display, but they do have lox, bacon scallion, tofu cream cheese, and some flavored cream cheese. For what it's worth, my toasted everything bagel with lox was fabulous. It was pillowy soft, nicely toasted, and extremely filling. Offering Korean savory bagels wouldn't be complete without actual Korean fare, which is also a part of their larger than expected menu. It includes items such as Korean fried chicken, kimbap, pajeon (various), bibimbap, kalbi, ramyum, and mandoo. This is in addition to the burgers, breakfast platters and sandwiches, and a number of pastries. The staff is mostly Spanish and English speaking, in addition to the owner Ben who brings Korean to the table. Prices are very reasonable for Astoria and I'm hoping they continue to stay that way. This spot is the ultimate neighborhood spot and I'm insanely jealous of all the residents in the area that get to enjoy this on the regular. ___________ (#1) Why mess with something that doesn't need changing? Oh, because palate + innovation. (#2) And incredibly gentrified. (#3) One sign reads: "My happy place is when I tell people to .... FU, KMA, MF, STFU, SOB, SMD." Oh how New York.

With any other customer it's friendly like a butterfly but as soon as me or my grandmother comes in there, it's an issue. Nah I had enough, this is the last time I'm or my family ever walking back in there. Beware of Dishonest Business Practices…read more This place has a huge sign advertising FREE coffee with any egg order, so I came in this morning expecting exactly that. I ordered an egg and cheese bagel with salt, pepper, and ketchup, along with a coffee--since, according to their own sign, it was supposed to be free. The man at the register (who I assume was the owner) charged me extra for the coffee anyway. When I politely pointed out that the coffee should be free, he acted clueless and said, "Oh, I didn't know you wanted the special." Seriously? Why would anyone knowingly choose to pay extra for something clearly advertised as free? He then said, "Okay, I'll give it to you," but still charged me the full amount. When I asked again if the discount had actually been applied, he flat-out claimed that it had. I showed him right there that it hadn't, and instead of fixing it, he shrugged it off and said there was nothing he could do--basically trying to keep the extra money. At that point, I walked out. It's not about the price of a coffee--it's about honesty. If you advertise something, honor it. This felt deceptive, shady, and completely unprofessional. Disgusting business practices. I won't be back. Stay away
