They were like eating stale bread and prob a day old. The cream cheese? It was liquidy and there was a singular piece of carrot. They tasted like a grocery store bagel from Iowa... and I've never been to Iowa. Worst bagel I've had in my life. Giving up on getting bagels on LBI from now. Some of the Best Bagels outside Manhattan (and Montreal) As I have for many years I dropped by Bageleddi's to pick up bagels during our recent trip to LBI. The upside is that the bagels are more or less perfect. The downside is that the morning line can be quite long. They also have other breakfast items (my son's double chocolate chip muffin was very tasty) as well as a variety of cream cheeses, milk, juice, etc. The coffee is quite decent as well. That said, I am dumbfounded at the complaints that the bagels are too chewy and/or too small - they have the texture of a great bagel and are larger than normal size. A bagel should neither look nor taste like a hard roll with the center cut out. read more

I have gone here for breakfast a couple times since I just moved down the street. I love the decor and employees are very nice and sandwiches are good. I do wish they sold peach smoothies. The reason I only gave three stars is because after you order you have to wait for your sandwich in narrowest part of the store with everyone else waiting for their food. Then you have the atm in the same area and the door to outside dining so there isn't anywhere good to stand and wait. You are constantly moving and getting out of everyone's way. Let me start by saying this has been my all time favorite bagel place on the island for almost 2 decades. That being said, there have always been ridiculously long lines. The original owners were much better. The current owner has been rude to us several times. He accused me of trying to rip him off for deli turkey when he is the one who put in the wrong price. He has made comments to my husband about bringing in DD coffee instead of buying from there. He just rubs me the wrong way. I will still get my bagels there occasionally, but I won't stand in the lines to do it! read more

I have ordered from here two different times and the subs were sub par. At least they are consistent... consistently bad! We ordered Italian subs both times and specifically asked for lettuce, oregano, oil and vinegar, and tomato. We unfortunately got none of these. The bread was also rock hard. I ordered a bacon egg and cheese on a egg bagel. Turns out they didn't have egg bagels so I ordered an everything bagel instead. I also asked for hot sauce and they didn't have that either. On a scale from 1-10 I'd rate the sandwich a 5. The bagel was hard and a bit on the tough side. After seeing some of the great reviews and not being impressed with the place I asked some of the locals what the deal was. Bageleddi's is a place you want to be a local, neighborhood establishment, but it just isn't. It seems like they are just here to take your money and they just aren't friendly about it. They will serve you a mediocre bagel and make you feel like they are doing you a favor. I think they changed the recipe since they moved across the street because I now find the bagels smaller (even though the price isn't) and they are very chewy. Next time I'll go a little farther down the boulevard to Ferrara's: better bagels and friendlier service. read more

We came here because my girlfriend is gluten free and they told us over the phone they had cinnamon raisin and everything gluten free so naturally we were exited. I ordered a simple sesame bagel with bacon CRISPY. Food comes out, the gluten bagel was the size of a dog treat and my bacon was 90% fat and the farthest thing from crispy imaginable. Bagel went in the garbage. Do not go here, go to bagels and beyond in surf city. You can not compare. And no we have no bias for bagels and beyond. Just a typical LBI vacationer. read more

This isn't worth stopping for. The line is super long, and the staff is outright rude. They don't change their gloves either. One of the employees took our order on the iPad and then went to cut bagels with the same gloves on. Also, they aren't real bagels. They are almost mini but for the same price as a regular size one. Don't even get me started with the lady in the back. She is the rudest out of them all; if she is the owner, she needs a new attitude because that attitude will get her nowhere. Bageleddi's is off my "go to" list effective immediately. When the biz was sold a few years ago & the new owner promised not to raise prices or change the recipe I was hopeful. I have been a customer of the store for nearly 20 years & my family has a year round house on the island & who didn't love Kenny & the original crew? What a huge disappointment the store is now. The recipe may be the same but the bagels are undercooked & doughy. That being said, the biggest disappointment is the attitude/apathy of the new owners & staff. My husband and I are from CA and visited our son and his bride in New Jersey. They took us for breakfast at Bageleddi's. We ordered an egg and cheese breakfast sandwich on a Everything Bagel. Both my husband and I were in shock on how DELICIOUS this sandwich was. I am not exaggerating on how good and fresh these bagels are. Also, the coffee was perfect! They also have a lovely outdoor area with picnic tables, that is where we ate. Their bathrooms were immaculate. After eating I had to go inside to thank the Bageleddi's people. I told them we had came all the way from CA and we were amazed on how tasty and fresh their food was. As we drove away one of the lovely ladies ran to our car with a bag of bagels and said to us to take these home to CA and enjoy. This is my mom's favorite bagel place in the whole world. I (sadly) only get to LBI about 1x a year. Until I was 23 I spent almost all summer on LBI and would drive down the island specifically for their bagels - passing many other places on my way. My boyfriend and I came to Bageleddi's before going to the beach this past Sunday. We drove up and saw there was a line and I thought "Oh no, I better let him out so he can go stand in line while I park." Well I went and parked the car (really easily might I add, the parking lot right there was a savior) and he was already almost in the door! The line moves so fast even when busy. Decent bagels, but like everything else on LBI, crazy expensive. $1 each for 12 bagels, $4 for cream cheese, $10 for some smoked salmon in a packet. That should be $26. Big dude at the counter sizes me up, looks at what I have, doesn't enter anything into the register, and says, "$27." I didn't realize it till later, and I called to check on the prices after I left. Confirmed, he charged me an extra $1, probably for the tip jar. Whatever. I can get bagels somewhere else next time. read more
