If you're looking for good quality, fresh donuts, I don't think I'd recommend this place despite its location and convenience. The prices for ice cream here are comparable to other places on Long Beach Island, but the portion sizes are much smaller. When you compare it to a place like the Big Dipper, where a scoop of ice cream is about the size of a baseball, the small portions here for the same $$ really stand out. People generally expect higher prices when going out on LBI, but if you're looking for ice cream, there are better options that offer more value for your money. You hit the counter and order what kind of donuts you want. They have a large variety and add the toppings once you order. The donuts were freshly fried and topped. The machine they use to fry the donuts is worth the trip. The machine automatically drops the batter into the fryer, moves it through and drops it into a cooling bowl....very neat. The donut is then topped with whatever is called for and boxed. The donuts were solid but honestly they are not anything I would go out of my way for. Peter Pan is definitely better and I would go as far as to say that Battleview orchards produces a better sugar donut. Donuts are Approx $2 a piece. If you are in the area, give them a chance and let us know what you think. The store also doubles as an ice cream shop that serves Turkey Hill ice cream if memory serves me correct. read more

There's no need to worry about getting a fresh donut because these little gems are made right in front of you. Hot and fresh no matter what time you decide to pop in -- no need to wait in line before the sun comes up. Any LBI vacation wouldn't be complete without a pre-beach breakfast that included something sweet. There are plenty of varieties to choose from, so I think the biggest issue will be figuring out just how many you want to get. They are definitely smaller than what you're probably used to, so it wouldn't be crazy for one person to have 2-3 of them at once. Keep that in mind when ordering. Shore good donuts does their own thing, and sticks to it. This place makes the donuts before your eyes. They're all circular, and the usual stuffed ones, like a jelly, are inside-out (i.e., on top of center). I think less is more here. The Cinnamon sugar is the best. The creative inside-out ones, like Boston bream & key lime, are a bit too sweet, and too much. The icing is too sweet too. The coffee isn't tremendous. The rainforest coffee is the most tolerable one. I intend to come here again... with my own coffee. read more

I LOVE donuts and will seek out donut shops whenever we go to a new area. Hence, today was our first time in LBI in years! Our family got a dozen donuts of almost every kind available. My favorite was the Cookies & Cream glazed. However, I was very disappointed when we walked inside and there was no Peanut Butter glaze or topping option. It's a very similar concept to Duck Donuts (DD) but a lot less glaze and topping options. The one thing that's unique to them that DD doesn't have is the Boston Creme and Jelly donut where they put it in the center of the donut. However we were all disappointed with the taste of the jelly & Boston Creme and were expecting more. The donut of the week was a Captain Crunch which no one liked. The taste of the cereal did not go well with the donut and the cereal itself was stale. For those who have tried other donut places similar to this, you will go in expecting more. I'm not even a donut person but the amazing donut smells from outside lured me into Shore Good Donuts. I don't regret my decision to try a warm, gooey, amazing treat. I went with the French Toast Donut and it was worth every single delicious calorie. To be honest, one donut wasn't super huge so I don't think it did *too* much damage. I could have easily eaten 2-3 and that would have been trouble. It was fresh, warm and really did taste like French toast combined with a glazed donut. It accompanied my iced coffee nicely. I didn't want to wait until I get home and chance my donut getting cold. I enjoyed it on the benches outside of the store. Amazing, amazing, amazing.
