No onion, no sesame, etc, etc, etc. Ok, so I get three bagels to go (everything, whole wheat and cinnamon raisin). Total comes to $5.85 (3 @ $1.95). The menu board on the wall behind the counter clearly shows one bagel costing $1.56, w no price break until half dozen. When I questioned the employee, she said, "Those are the old prices." Makes me wonder what other prices prominently displayed are "old". Tried the everything bagel at home. Lightly toasted with butter. It was very good (I'd rate it a 4). But shortage of varieties a little more than halfway through the day, and misleading pricing.... 2 stars.

For those familiar with Wolcott, you can find this gem in the plaza across the street from Cumberland Farms. This plaza has ample parking for a morning bit. Inside, they offer a few tables to eat your meal or drink your coffee, but this place is basically an order up/order out outfit. I've eaten at Wolcott Bagel for both lunch and breakfast. For breakfast, I typically get a sausage, egg, and cheese on an everything bagel. My wife enjoys their homemade chive cream cheese on an everything bagel. They are a popular place to eat (for a good reason), and I will be back again. The only recommendation I have is if you are going to grab a bagel or bagel sandwich on a Saturday, grab it early (before 10 am). I've gone a couple of times later on a Saturday morning to find out they ran out of the bagel I'd normally get. I still had a delicious meal, but it's just as an FYI as they make their bagels homemade, and my guess is they try to match the need for the day.

Your usual go to flavs like everything, garlic, onion, plain, cinnamon/raison, etc.. but with other great flavs like spinach, egg, or French toast (and more)! Can I tell you how great a bacon, sausage, or ham egg n cheese is on a French toast bagel?!?! The sweet n salty! MUST TRY!! Also house made amazing cream cheese varieties (huge fan of the veggie cream cheese! Had to buy a few when I brought bagels in for my work crew on fridays cause it always went sooo fast! But many other great flavors) can just get it on your bagel or buy a container to bring home for the week. Great lunch sandwiches too with Boars head meets! Great staff and service as well! But if it's a Fri, sat or Sunday I'd recommend go early or you can order ahead for pickup as people come and grab dozens at a time! You may have to wait a little bit for a fresh batch of your flavor to come out depending on the morning rush times but trust... it's worth it!!! The bagels themselves keep well for days and don't get hard as a rock and dried out quickly like from other places which is awesome and makes a trip there worth it! Easy on and off rt 84 Waterbury... def worth the stop!

The new space is bright, welcoming, and much more accessible to people who may have never discovered this hidden gem before. While I wondered if something would be lost leaving that small neighborhood setting behind, it didn't take long to realize the opposite. The owners, the staff, and the loyal customers have all brought the same warmth and sense of family with them. It still feels like home. I'll admit, though, I was crushed when I learned that Taylor Ham didn't make the move to the new menu. If you read my older reviews, that's actually what brought me through their doors in the first place. It genuinely broke my heart. But loyalty goes both ways. I love this place, so instead of dwelling on what isn't there, I'm making my way through the menu looking for a new favorite. Today I tried the Jalapeño Whopper--bacon, grilled jalapeños, and cream cheese on an everything bagel. It was really good. I discovered that warm cream cheese just isn't my thing, but that's 100% on me, not the sandwich. I also ordered the Gootz: sausage, egg, provolone, sautéed mushrooms, and cherry peppers on a garlic bagel. Outstanding. I'd order that again without hesitation. I'm going to keep working my way through the menu in hopes of finding something that fills the Taylor Ham-sized hole in my heart. And even if I never do, I'll happily keep coming back for their outstanding bagels, incredible spreads, great food, and the feeling you get every time you walk through the door. And while their coffee service is a little different with the pots behind the counter, it's still fantastic. Some places serve breakfast. DeRocco's feels like home.

A new day, a new coffee place to start a morning…read more I've actually been sitting on this review since August 8th, and originally, I was going to wait for another visit before I gave this a proper review. However, the more time I have actually had to sit with my thoughts of it, the more I realized I could just write one now and possibly update it later. So here we are at Cheshire Coffee, a coffee spot that sits oddly enough on the Waterbury side of the town line with Cheshire. Seriously, this place I don't even have to go outside my city limits for, and it is, notably enough in between the same two exits on I-84 as Blackie's is across the line. Much like The Loaded Goat Coffee Company in Naugatuck, this place is very inviting, cozy, with great coffees and excellent customer service. This visit involved an asiago bagel toasted with cream cheese, a beef chimichurri sandwich that the baristas panini-pressed for me, and a Churro Latte. All 3 of these things were good to great. Really, this review is mainly a 4-star review in the way that a place I don't have much of an impression on would get 4 stars. I would need to come back for more things to decide whether or not a 5th star would be warranted. But the interior helps makes a strong case for that star. I was most impressed with the poem on display as I was waiting for my coffee. It's not a detail I've shared yet here on Yelp, but this visit 's prompt me to say this now. So fun fact about me is that once upon a time, I wrote poetry. Late sophomore year of high school and going for a few years after and starting in 2007, I wrote poems any time I felt inspired to do so. I once attended a poetry slam that was held by my high school later in 2007 when I was in the first half of my junior year, and boy was that a great experience! Seeing the poem on display, I am really starting to think about getting back into writing poetry. I just need to find a muse and inspirations. This is honestly a great coffee option if I want to start traveling anywhere eastbound towards Hartford and such. I would totally come back in a situation that allows for it and try some other items.
