**Only accepts Canadian cash and Canadian debit** There is an ATM nearby. A cute little cafe serving an impressive menu of items! They also have sesame bagels from the local Joint so you can get your fix without going to the bagel shop. Service was quick, friendly, and helpful. They have a hot sauce bar you can pick from with about 15 hot sauces for your breakfasts.

A beautiful sunny Day with a friend and went to sit at a terrace and have a nibble. This place has been here for a gazillion yrs so it has been awhile Love the decor of the 50's/60's old style diner. We were both quite famished so we both decided to have the Chilli burger. Served with home potatoes and small side of coleslaw. Service was okay but the owner would greet everyone and asked if we enjoyed our meal. It was a good ole hearty meal On a beautiful day which It ended it with a Cappuccino ... Off to Billbouqet for dessert down the street.. lol...

Bagels Etc was a favourite of mine during my student days for its cheap, delicious brunch food. Despite my affection for this Plateau brunch spot I actually didn't come here for a few years. Recently though the opportunity to come here presented itself and I jumped on it. The place hasn't changed a bit since the last time I came here. It is still rocking the old-school diner vibe and serving affordable and delicious food. Montrealers love their weekend brunches so I was worried that my friend and I would have to wait to get a table. As luck would have it we were seated right away. We did come early and my suggestion would be to get here before 11 if you want to avoid waiting because when we left a line-up was starting to form. Also the dining room is small so you are best to come here as a small group (four people tops). Their brunch menu focuses on the classics like eggs, bacon, pancakes and of course bagels as the name suggests. I ordered the De Luxe plate which came with a bit of everything and man did they ever give me lots of food. I actually had to leave some behind because it was simply too much. That being said it was so delicious! The potatoes were well seasoned and they used real Montreal bagels. The pancakes could have been a little fluffier but that was minor. If anyone knows how to handle the brunch rush its these people. I was surprised by how quickly our food orders came. It seems that we had barely ordered before the waitress brought our plates to us. They also were generous with coffee and water refills. It seemed that as soon as a coffee cup was empty the waitress was on it right away. I was so happy to see that Bagels Etc hasn't changed a bit since my last visit. It was every bit as good as I remembered it. This restaurant is definitely worth the visit when you're craving an affordably and tasty brunch!

Fruit platter/salad with egg whites and bagel. Very good.

Came back to my favorite brunch spot 29 years later after moving out of Montreal. Just had the basics a cafe au lait, pancakes and fruit and all was very good. Still great!

The food is equally as colourful as the decor. One half resembles a diner and the rest is a series of random pieces thrown together which ends up working out. You get some sort of carb with every menu item. I was on the hunt for a killer bagel and chose the St. Viateur with lox, cream cheese, red onion, tomato and capers. The waitress mentioned they get their bagels from Fairmount so it's no surprise it tasted superb! Service was excellent here. The waitress was helpful and listed other places we should check out in the city.

Okay I loved this 1940s little dinner. They had an amazing menu full of sandwiches, bagels, all-Day breakfast, and tons of great sides. The decor and seating was uber cute and vintage. I felt like I was back in my grandmothers house. As a vegan I found they missed having great vegan options. But they do have amazing home-fried potatoes, a vegan soup and of course fruit ! I also loved the coffee and found it to be a great cup. Service in the place was very fast for the food. I waited 2 minutes for my food to come after I had ordered it which was soup. My family ordered each a sandwich/bagel with homefried potatoes. It was served right away. The only downfall was the tiny bathroom I'm 6 ft tall so it was a bit tight for me. Also being it's such a great place it was crowded at lunch when we went. Prices are amazing and there is a lot of parking on the street. I'd honestly recommend checking it out ! I only give it 4 because of the wait time to pay as it was crowded and the tiny bathroom.

Looks odd but taste really good

Bagel ETC Didn't disappoint me was very tasty the plate I took which Was the huevos with added bacon I highly recommended it. portions are a pretty good size but I find it a bit expensive but worth it from time to time. I also liked the coffee and the service was good dispute how busy it was it's also not to far from the SQDC for those of you who like to smoke ;)

We ordered the "Le Joe Bagel", which was the one on Netflix, a spicy everything bagel (new), a maple apple bagel, and a rosemary & sea salt bagel with jalapeno cream cheese (new). I would say that the "Le Joe Bagel" was a little sweet for us since it had fig in it. The spicy everything bagel was good and the jalapeno cream cheese had a good kick to it too. But my favorite was the maple apple bagel since it was just simple and nice. The bagel itself looks smaller than a New York bagel but it's more dense and gives a good pretzel feel to it. I tend to like that more than the full bread feel from New York. We didn't try other bagel spots but I don't feel like I would need to or want to. It was great. I'd come back

They also have indoor seating as well which is very convienent and ideal. These bagels themselves are typical of Montreal, a hint of sweet and a well wrapped spiced bagel. Combine these bagels with a Tre Selle cream cheese, which is not as dense or full of preservatives, and it's pure bliss for any bagel lover. I did find these bagels to be sturdier than the competition, the exterior chew definitely a little more of a workout for the jaw, but I'd still give St Viateur another retry the next time I visit Montreal.

The meat was incredibly tender, juicy, and packed with flavor, piled high between fresh rye bread with just the right amount of mustard. The atmosphere is classic, authentic, and full of history. Even with the line outside, the service was efficient and friendly, and the food was worth every minute of the wait. The pickle and fries were the perfect sides to complement the rich smoked meat. You can tell why this place has become a Montreal institution. Simple menu, legendary food, and an experience that feels uniquely local. I'll definitely be back the next time I'm in Montreal.

We walked into a space that is small, constantly packed, and built around fast turnover rather than comfort, with people lining up at the counter while orders get called out across a loud, crowded room. The energy hit us right away, and it felt more like stepping into a system that has been running the same way for decades rather than a modern restaurant experience. The smoked meat sandwich is the main reason to come here, and it delivers in a very direct, no-frills way. We ordered one and found the meat thick, heavily seasoned, and with a deep smoky flavor that came through right away. The texture stood out most, tender but still structured enough to hold its bite, especially when stacked on rye bread with mustard. It is simple in concept but feels complete in execution, with nothing on the plate trying to distract from the main item. The sides like pickles, coleslaw, and fries felt more supportive than essential. We tried the poutine and found it solid and filling, but it clearly sat in the background compared to the smoked meat sandwich. Everything on the menu seemed centered around that one item, and the rest of the food reinforced that focus rather than expanding it into a wider dining experience. Seating is communal and tightly packed, which added to the overall intensity of the place. It was common to share tables with strangers, and there was very little personal space once we sat down. The noise level stayed high the entire time, but the service was quick, so the pace of the meal kept things moving even when it felt crowded. Schwartz's Deli feels like a Montreal institution defined by its simplicity and consistency. It is not a comfortable sit-down meal, but the smoked meat sandwich is strong enough to make the entire experience worth it, especially if you are there for what it is known for rather than the setting around it.

I was intrigued, and since I can always go for some carbs I decided to head in and check this place out. Unlike most bakeries I visited, Boulangerie Guillaume has a much more modern look, and is larger than a standard bakery. Walking in, I was immediately greeted by stairs which led up to the main production area. All of the bakes were arranged on the back-wall perimeter of the space separated from the pedestrians by a glass wall. The color scheme was mostly black to contrast the bright yellow of the bags and signage. The arrangement of the bakes, combined with the color scheme and modern aesthetics, resulted in a stunning, visually striking presentation. I wasn't too hungry, but I can always go for some sweets and their date square looked good. I went with that, along with a cappuccino. The square was delicious - the dates were high quality, and the crust underneath was moist while maintaining its integrity. The cappuccino was also good, a great complement to the bake. Service was efficient, and overall I had a great experience at Boulangerie Guillaume. I definitely want to return to explore more of their menu - I noticed they had some savory items so perhaps for some lunch. Definitely one of the best bakeries I visited in Montreal.

However, got close to the end of our day and saw Kettlemans Bagel store across the way from the stadium and decided to give them a try. They were not to busy at the moment, I'm sure when the hockey season is in play they get packed. The gentleman that took our order at the check in was nice and patient. I'm sure that it didn't help that we did not speak French, which seems to be the main language here in Montreal. I got the BLT and tots, the family got sandwiches as well and tots. They did have a little hiccup with our order, they forgot one of the tater tots. I let them know and they were super apologetic and made another fresh batch for us. They have an area where you can see them cutting up the dough and roll up the bagels to be made. There is an outdoor seating area (it's like a patio) or you can sit inside mostly barstools and a couple tables with chairs. The Bathroom you need to get the key from the counter, bathrooms were a bit on the dingy for being a locked up bathroom. The restaurant itself looked clean and well kept. The sandwich was good, bagel was a bit on the chewy side. Like I said the staff was nice which was the best part of the visit here.
