The bagel is very good. But like a lot of people say, the owner and staff are not the best. The owner is creepy and does not want to hear about anything. My observation: if someone orders cream cheese on their bagel, the staff puts a generous portion on the bagel. If you ask for butter, they put very little. When I ask for extra butter, the owner creeps over on wants to weigh the extra butter and charge me. Disgusting. This is the only bagel place in my experience that wants to charge you for extra butter. Is butter that much more than cream cheese? And the prices are too high. The lox on a bagel is getting closer to the $20 mark. I had enough from the owner and I have reported her to every organization I could and I tell people how bad it is. The staff does not listen to instructions. I got a tomato on my bagel. I don't eat tomatoes. I told the staff I didn't order tomatoes and she told me I ordered it that way. What more needs to be said. There are other places, less expensive and a lot nicer who want your business. This owner is too ignorant to know different. read more

Bagel Corner is our favorite bagel store. We have kids with food allergies and the staff is very good about helping us avoid food allergens. They take clean knives and clean the surface area to make sure our kids are safe. They even go to the back to get "clean" cream cheese. We love the new interior and the staff has been great for a long time. read more

1 star because bagels are good, but be aware they will try to skimp you on the cream cheese (so I always have to ask for more). Customer service- horrible. Unfriendly staff. They seem bothered that I'm ordering bagels...? Way to make a customer feel welcomed. I felt really uncomfortable from start to finish (ordering to paying for my food), because they were so rude. The guy at the cashier use to be nice when they first opened after renovations, but now he does not care about his customers. HONESTLY- ROLEN BAGELS down the block is the spot. Love the fact this bagel shop corner: is there for a quick eat and run deal. Their yummy fresh bagels comes in handy when don't have time for something big or a good morning start up. They also have interesting cream cheese varieties. I am pleased and they are indeed nice, I have been coming here for several years. Service is HORRIBLE! The staff is nasty and has an attitude each time I had to go there. On a weekday at about 6:30am the store was open but there were no bagels out and the woman cashier had a horrible attitude about it because I asked her to repeat the only bagels that were available at this time which was only 2 choices! Very rude staff I must say and its cash only which is frustrating. There is a bank near by but there is also a Starbucks near there as well. The bagels are ok it's just a good location for a quick grab and go after 7 am. There is street parking but sometimes hard to find. Best iced coffee. Best spinach pie. Best bagels. This coffee is perfect! It's what coffee is supposed to taste like. I wanted to include a picture of the bagels my boyfriend and I got but we ate them so quickly that I didn't get a chance to. This place was cute and set up nicely, and the workers were really sweet and patient with us because we had no idea what we wanted. We ended up getting two bagels (one with blueberry cream cheese and one with strawberry), 2 coffees, and a black and white cookie (huge btw), and it was all delicious! They're not stingy with their cream cheese spread, they really lather it up on there for ya which I looove It was also reasonably priced! A heads up, if you're paying with card there is a sub charge fee but our total came out to around $20 which I was more thank okay with. Came here on a Saturday morning and got a plain bagel. The bagels are fresh and hot, I could see the steam coming off of it when they sliced it open and put the cream cheese on. It was warm and soft on the inside and slightly crispy and crunchy on the outside. Perfection. I think the same people run Rolen Bagels down the street, but the bagel here is better. read more

So now that you're aware of the sitch, I'll tell you that one of my favorite parts of coming to Bagel Corner (besides their phenomenally delicious bagels and reasonable prices) is using my imagination to come up with scenarios of why these lovely folks (who make a delish bagel, by the way) treat their customers like human garbage. Like, sour-lemon-face, stank-eye, I-don't-like-you, what-do-you-want, here's-your-bagel-now-go-die kind of misery. Here are my top three best theories: -The employees know a deep, dark, absolutely ruinous family secret about the owner, so he/she can't fire them or they'll spill the beans. -The people who work here are method actors and are playing the parts of deeply embittered bagel employees who go on to find true love in the big city. -They are attempting to reenact a bagel version of the Soup Nazi from Seinfeld. I love this place and have been a regular customer but I've now gone in on a few occasions an hour before they close and their menu coincidentally shrinks. I am a veteran in this store. The bagels are tops in the neighborhood. However to the owner , today, you have a lady worker there with a bad attitude (I missed the pleasant spanish lady, I forgot her name), and this isn't the first time I've noticed unacceptable service from her. I ordered $50 ish of food and just as I noticed the bagel with Lox not toasted I reminded her nicely that supposed to be warmed. To my shock she put her arms up in the air and uttered her native tongue. Very rude and from the get go she was already intimidating while taking my orders. I literally watched her with no positive vibe on pleasant Saturday morning, meanwhile the other 3 gents staff are the opposite of her rudeness. She can ruin someones morning. BTW I told her " You need to listen to instruction and human beings as we are can make mistakes, it wont hurt to say sorry." These are OK bagels, not the best ever, but pretty good. The egg salad here is very good. REAL COMPLAINT: This is a very small space. The customers were crowded in, half with no masks, and importantly, the servers had no masks on. In view of the highly contagious virus now circulating, this is definitely NOT a good idea. These are the best bagels you can get anywhere above the upper west side. Yeah, they can be kind of rude. Except for one guy who seems to work only on weekends, idk younger guy with brown hair looks like he could be a manhattan college student. He's never there as much as the other people but he's the best super sweet. Shoutout to him. Everyone else can be a little rude but whatever so is Barney Greengass, we're here for the bagels. And the bagels are phenomenal. The roasted garlic cream cheese is to die for. My friends say the lox is amazing too. Only thing i find weird is that they like wear only one glove? So they make your bagel with one hand? And sometimes they cut your bagel in half, and then those halves in half, before even putting the bagel together. So they have to add the toppings on two separate halves. It sounds so strange but it's happened to me literally at least 5 times. Let's be clear - without a doubt, this place can rival any of the Manhattan greats for bagels. This establishment has been around for at least 25 years. Their MO is simple, make great bagels. I grew up with this place. I remember walking to school and stopping off for what was then a 75 cent combo of bagel and some milk. Amazingly many of the employees that worked at the corner when I was a school girl are still there now. Just another great sign that they take care of their employees. They make some amazing bagel sticks and some truly traditional style bialis. I've lived in California for over 16 years, but every trip home to visit my family in Riverdale demands a trip to Bagel Corner and a to-go bag for my trip home. Really good bagels. The service is borderline cruel. Real old-school Riverdale jerks. Terrible, horrible people. I have no doubt in my mind that they would kick a baby if they thought they could get away with it. I think it's a family business, too. I don't want to imagine what their reunions are like. They may or may not be related to the guys at Rolen Bagels a ways down the street, where the bagels are inferior but the non-bagel food is better and they're very slightly friendlier. By far the BEST bagels in Riverdale. The onion bagel with plain cream cheese is my usual here, and I sometimes find myself dreaming about it. I will go as far as to say my favorite bagel in NYC, or maybe....the world. Yeah, I said it... The bagels are pretty damned near perfect. The slightly hard rind and the chewy center? Carb heaven. A true neighborhood gem...and the coffee is pretty good too. And a great tasting whole wheat bagel?! I kid you not. The place can get a bit backed up in the morning (isn't that a good sign?) but they seem to speed through customers efficiently and send them happily on their way, bagel and coffee in hand. However, take heed...there is one woman who works here who has become a neighborhood institution for how sour and easily irritated she is. I'm sure many a Riverdalian has experienced this scenario: You are on line and the polite unsuspecting person in front of you requests a toasted bagel, and you think to yourself "Oh boy, here it comes..." and sure enough, the dread bellow "WE DON'T TOAST!!!". Alas, this scenario won't play out anymore, as I'm pretty sure they actually have started toasting (which I think is unnecessary when the bagels are so damned good - its like ordering a great cut of steak well done). Their bagels and cream cheeses are pretty good. I never had a bad bagel there. My gripes are that they're on the pricey side and that the pricing seems to always change. I feel like different people charge different prices and the few times I asked them to double check the price, they would say it was correct. Two plain bagels with nothing on them and an almond crossiant used to be $5 then it was $6 the week after, then $6.75 some time after. I really liked the food, but for the price and inconsistentancy, I'd rather go to Starbucks. I'll miss that jalapeño cream cheese. read more

Bagel Corner has a local following in Riverdale. It gets busy around 8:30 and Saturdays there is often a line up. If you know anything about the area then you know that the same people who own Bagel Corner also own Rolen Bagels. There are two primary differences between the two bagel shops. If you don't keep Kosher - the Bagel Corner is open on Saturday. If you like your bagels toasted - go to Rolen. Don't even try to ask for a toasted bagel at Bagel Corner - you'll just get a blank stare. Their bagels are awesome - not too doughy or crunchy. They also make great mini-bagels for those hosting a children's party or on a carb-conscious diet. Bagel Corner is cash only. There is no tip jar, but the workers will be really nice to you if you do. read more

Great, fresh bagels. Owned by the same people who own Rolen's a few streets down, so the bagels and cream cheeses taste the same. On weekends they run out of some flavors of bagels by the early afternoon. Unlike Rolen's, this location does not sell cream cheese by the pound. Also, they have no seating. Fortunately, they do carry the same delicious yogurt muffins as Rolen's (try the chocolate flavors), which are actually made in Yonkers. I have been told by store employees that Bagel Corner and Rolen's Bagels are both kosher, but B.C. is just not under the supervision of a rabbi. This allows them to be open on Saturdays! You say on your website that masks are required. However when we visited yesterday (Oct 8, 2021) one of your employees was not wearing a mask and did not put one on when asked to do so. Furthermore he said that he was not vaccinated. Masks and vaccinations should be required for all of your employees. We love your bagels, but we will stop patronizing you if this persists. I lived in Riverdale for a few months and walked by this place everyday. It looked shabby and so I never bothered to go in. However, one day I woke up to find sour milk in my fridge and no other breakfast food in sight so I wandered down the street to Bagel Corner. Hot damn, what a good decision! Their bagels are great, not too chewy or crunchy. Just dense enough. Good cream cheese. The service is friendly and fast, too. Suffice to say, my breakfast problem was solved! While Bagel Corner doesn't beat my fav in the city (Absolute Bagels) it totally buries the most overrated bagels in the world (H&H...why do people like these pieces of bread with holes so much?!?). I'm planning a return trip to New York from my new, bagel-less home in San Francisco in a couple weeks and you can beat I'll be hopping the 1 train to 235th and walking right to the Bagel Corner (after a quick stop at Absolute of course). read more

Was in today for a quick lunch. Ordered sesame seed bagel with tuna and vegetables salad. The spread was 3 mm in depth. For those familiar with metric system, it amounts to"barely there". On the other hand, may be it was good, because as I started eating, I felt some kind of a smell other than what you would expect. Ate a bit, tossed the rest, having stomach cramps 30 min later.
