Tried to order from here via Instacart on two separate occasions -- only to have both orders canceled an hour later.

Waste of time and money, the chicken wasn't fresh. There was no sauce added to my sandwich.

The food photos alone never quite explained why it has such light foot traffic--and honestly, after finally stopping in, I'm even more puzzled, because the food is good. Maybe it's missing that immediate grab‑you factor, but my experience was solid. I ordered the double pepper chicken leg burger, and the chicken itself is the star: crispy on the outside, juicy inside, and deeply savory. While I personally wished it packed more heat, the execution was spot‑on. The bun, however, felt a bit forgettable, and the sauce leaned heavily into Thousand Island territory...fine, but not particularly distinctive. All that said, it's better than the crowd suggests. With a little more personality, this place could easily pull more attention its way.

One thing I was kind of disappointed was that they charge you for bottled water and have no tap water available for free. I ended up getting a drink from their limited selection of bottled beverages (ranging from sodas to unsweetened jasmine tea). Lesson of the day: bring your own water! Other than that, I thought their crispy chicken leg burger was quite yummy, but there wasn't anything too special about it. The chicken was crunchy and juicy. The bun was on the drier side though. Also, the fries were just okay. I would come back for just the crispy chicken leg burger.

I walked into this deli today hungry and wanting something very simple: a turkey sandwich on whole wheat. Instead of being greeted by a person behind the counter, I was directed to a kiosk. The kiosk was surprisingly limited and frustrating to use. I could not find an option for a basic turkey sandwich without scrolling through a long list of pre-built combinations that did not work for me. There was no easy way to customize and no visible option to simply order something straightforward. What made it worse was the complete absence of human interaction. There was no opportunity to ask a question or clarify an order. It felt transactional in the worst way. I was not alone. The couple next to me also gave up and left without ordering. We all walked out without ever speaking to a single person. If you are going to replace staff with kiosks, at least make the system intuitive and flexible. Sometimes people just want a simple sandwich and a quick, human exchange. I ended up leaving hungry and disappointed..

Something made me think about Katz's Delicatessen in NYC and I suddenly craved a Pastrami sandwich…read more I was excited to find Mirchi nearby and a locally beloved pastrami with interesting ingredients. Location is near the Mirchi cafe on Fremont Blvd in the plaza right next to Wonderland smoke shop. There is plenty of parking. Staff was super nice and helped me open the stuck door that you have to pull really hard on to get in. The market is small but curated and I was drawn to the imported potato chips. I picked up a bag of Lay's Masala chips I haven't had since I was in Mumbai, excited to eat it with my sandwich. The sandwich took about 10 minutes to make and panini-press and smelled delicious. However, when I got home I immediately noticed the color and thought they had mistakenly used roast beef. I looked at some of the other reviews and their doordash image and I'm confused on what I got. The pastrami was missing the distinct reddish-pink color from brining and black bark from smoking, I'm not sure how it was prepped in-house but it tasted like roast beef. I did enjoy the blueberry jam and pepperoncini combo.

Local Cafe is now called Local Bistro, and the menu has changed from when it first opened…read more It seems like now they have tried to bring it back to a restaurant, compared to when they changed it to more of a Karaoke place. While it's great that they are trying to bring it back to more of a restaurant, I'm disappointed while doing that, they've also changed the menu up. While it is still considered a Hong Kong Style Cafe, I preferred the original menu when they had first opened up, and now they've changed it. They added the baked rice dishes, and Hong Kong Style BBQ Meats and have gotten rid of the more previously offered Cantonese style dishes. Our most recent visit, we ordered the Hainan Chicken Rice Combo, Roast Duck Rice Plate and Beef Stew Wonton Noodle Soup. The rice places come with a drink, so that is a plus there. They weren't anything spectacular, same with the noodle soup we ordered. The customer service here was ok, the staff was nice, no complaints there. The ambiance is ok, it's kinda dark inside, and they have a little lamp at the table for lighting. Too dark in my opinion. Overall, I think they should add back the previous items they offered when they first opened, the menu items were better and more vast.
