The ahi tuna tartare doesn't look like the picture currently on their website, and it arrived looking like the typical tuna/avocado/mango stack that we've all had before. But, whoa! The pineapple salsa took it to a new acidic level, and there was something else going on that I can't name, but it was perfect. The bone marrow toast. I can't even... Initially, tasting each component, I was underwhelmed, but once you stack the cheese toast, the marrow, the fruit compote, and the arugula? Total heaven. What a genius dish. And who doesn't love a smashburger? They do theirs flawlessly. Juicy, not overcooked, perfectly seasoned. Usually after a full meal I don't order dessert, but I just had to sample their nightly specials because they'd proved themselves, lol. I also never order a crème brûlée as I find my husband's to be the best I've had, but... I got their vanilla version, and my husband got their peanut butter and chocolate pops. Both were damn divine! Ive only heard of no to go boxes for places that have an all you can eat. And honestly, what makes this a one-star experience is that the burgers weren't even that good. So after dealing with all the restrictions, the food itself didn't make the hassle worthwhile. One other thing to watch out for: the receipt appears to calculate the suggested gratuity based on the full price of both burgers rather than the discounted promotional price. If you blindly follow the suggested tip amount, you could end up significantly over-tipping. They also dont have Apple Pay either and I left my wallet so I had to phone a friend to help me out. McGarvey's is like that one Uncle at family get togethers that just kind of sits on the couch and watches TV the whole time. No one really pays any attention to him, but they all love him. Everyone has better things to do than to watch TV with him, but everyone finds themself sitting on the couch watching TV with him at some point throughout the gathering. That's McGarvey's. Is it anyone's "go-to" bar in Manchester? Probably not. But does everyone love it and find themselves there at some point during the night? Probably not. But this review isn't about other people, It's about me. I don't care if other people don't like McGarvey's (I'm looking at you, Anthony A.)
