If you need an escape from your ordinary mundane life and want a place where dopamine and…read moreadrenaline drive your day, look no further than The Rec Room Granville! They open as early as 9:30 a.m. on Monday and Tuesday, and 11:30 a.m. the rest of the week, so you can kickstart the fun right away. The layout here is brilliant: you can enjoy the mini-golf in the basement, catch your favorite sports games on a massive screen at the first-floor sports bar, or head up to the second floor for an absolute playground of pool tables, arcades, VR games, and QBIX. Personally, my absolute favorites are Super Mario Car Racing, Motorbike Racing, and VR Godzilla. The setup is highly rewarding, though it totally tempts you to buy more credits than you actually need- especially since the more you buy, the more bonus credits you rack up. Plus, you can trade your game points for merchandise, ranging from cute mini keychains all the way up to a Nintendo Switch. If you get hungry from all the gaming, they've got you covered. Enjoy 'Appy Hour daily from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m., or hit up a Late Night Menu from 11p.m. to close, Thursday through Saturday, for good discounts on appetizers and drinks.

Are you an adult, who wants to play arcade games? Not just the ones that you pop quarters into,…read moreplay a bit, and be done, but those games that spew out tickets all over the place, because you are looking to earn a prize? Well, you basically found it. Okay, the tickets are digital now, because let's save trees, but as you throw that ball, or drop that coin, or use that impossible claw-grabber, you are earning you way to some random prize, because you need goals in life. Yes, lots of games, that reward you, or "reward" you... points may vary, even if you are skilled. That's the top floor, because you need to believe that indeed it's elevated. Middle floor, the one you come in from, is the counter to buy your game card/wrist band/NFC thing... and the restaurant, which to be honest, isn't half bad. It's not fine dining, so don't expect that here.. at an ADULT ARCADE... but the burgers are solid, the Nachos are overloaded, and salads.. eer... why would you get a salad? oh right, health... perrfff. yeah, no.. say yes to meat please? Downstairs, where it's quieter, you can get a beer, and tee up the 9 hole mini-golf. it starts simple, which makes you feel like you are half-decent, but as you go along, it gets harder, and more... hard. Which is okay, because life should hard, like the side of a golf ball, dimpled and knocked around, with scars of where you have been, and where you are going. There is a story... which is on a roll... see what I did? okay, nevermind, but really, it's a solid mini-golf. Overall, it's a good place to hang out with friends, enjoy a little gaming, and well, relax. It's in the middle of town, so parking is a nightmare, but again, it's cool.

I've been to Victoria so many times and was running out of things to do, so I was super excited to…read morefind that this was a new addition. I'd been hearing about axe throwing being the cool new thing and my partner was ecstatic as this reminds him of his childhood growing up in the woods. I was even happier to find that prices are reasonable, but slightly concerned I might chop off a toe. I really wanted to try this so I made my partner make reservations ahead of time (I did see quite a few people who tried to walk in turned away). The place is a teeny bit hidden inside a non descript building, but when you first walk in you can see it thru the glass window. We came by a little early and were able to get started early. It's kind of like bowling where you get your own lane and choose your own axe. I was happy to find that they had both bathrooms and wifi available. We received some instruction and coaching throughout our visit. Throwing an axe the exact right way to get it to stick into the wall is tricky. It is certainly something I still need to master, but I was over joyed when I finally got some picture worthy throws near the bulls eye. My partner thinks he is pretty good and is considering joining a league in the future. Even though we don't live in the area the employees were helpful and provided us info about the different kind of leagues and what we could expect if we joined one. I'd definitely check this out again and would even consider it somewhat of a work out.

Loved this place!! It has only been running for a month, but totally worth our $20. We have never…read moredone anything like axe throwing in our life. It seemed simple enough, but there is totally a learning curve!!! Luckily for us, Axe and Grind has people there to coach us through the learning part so we could actually enjoy ourselves by sibling an axe into the target. This made a difference because they don't just send you off to throw axes randomly at wood boards. They explain how to do it, show you how to do it, watch you do it, then help you make adjustments until it starts clicking for you. Once it starts to click, then they teach you how to play the axe throwing game (I.e. what the red lead and blue dots mean and how to score). Once we got the hang out it, the games was super fun!! We even practiced doing the one handed throw. It was appprox. $22 per a person after tax for one hour. But you only need an hour. Lol. Any longer and your arms might hurt!! Usually, you share one lane for 2-4 people. Just like bowling, except with axes. It's like bowling and archery mixed into one game!!! It is hidden so you have to search a bit for the sign to find the location downtown. You also have to find street parking, which is a bummer. But you can always walk around to get your money of parking worth. I heard they get busier at night so we went in the late afternoon before dinner and the night crowd. We got a lane for each of us individually after having to share 2 lanes for 3 people. So was fun and not crowded for us. Def recommend. Something unique and fun to do with your friends and family!! Just remember to wear opened toe shoes. If you don't, they have crocs that you can borrow, but it requires you to wear shoes that strangers have worn before. I suppose nothing diff that bowling shoes, but if you can remember, wear closed toed shoes!

Amazing. Simply. AMAZING. I started booking this trip as a…read moresurprise for my husband's 50th birthday. He had always wanted to do a sturgeon fishing charter and this was going to be the perfect gift. The ladies in the front office (Claudette, Krissy and Jenn) answered all my questions and really helped me through so many aspects of planning this trip. They were always just a call or an email away and were always speedy with their replies. Never once were they rude to me, or made me feel like I wasn't worth their time. They pretty much pampered me right from the start. I reserved a 3 night stay in the Bison Suite that included - 2 eight hour days of guided sturgeon fishing and all meals provided by the lodge. The Bison Suites need to be seen to be appreciated. We had a large room containing a super comfy king sized bed in front of a push-button fireplace, two sitting chairs around a small coffee table, a large TV with all the streaming apps, a Nespresso coffee maker, and mini fridge. And let's not forget the bathroom. To say the bathroom is well-equipped would be an understatement. The toilet does everything you never thought you needed a toilet to do, and it is a full experience. Don't be a prude! You need to experience the toilet. And the shower is majestic. The shower 'stall' is a large glass area that features a waterfall shower head on the ceiling and a handheld shower head on the wall. The floor of the shower looks like a riverbed, and there's a large window looking from the shower into the bedroom so you can see out to the deck and the beautiful scenery. The deck boasts a 2 (or maybe 3) person hot tub and it is fully private. It felt magical after a full day of fishing. The meals were straight up 5 star cuisine. Dinner was a 4 course meal, breakfast consisted of mouth watering pastries and something more substantial such as eggs benedict or quiche, and both meals were served by attentive and friendly staff in the lounge at a set time. We dined with other lodge guests and it was actually kind of cool to meet different people and get to know everyone's story. Lunch was served differently and it was so cool! It was freshly barbequed on the boat while we were fishing so we never missed any action. One day it was steak and shrimp and the other is was chicken and sausage. (I have to give a huge shout out to Chef Ian and his crew who took the time to make sure my dietary preferences were met in each meal. The food was beyond anything I thought I would receive and I'm so appreciative.) Now, on to the fishing! Our guide was Neil and he gave our trip another layer of amazingness. He is a local so he was really knowledgeable about fishing locations, where the bite was best vs. where it wasn't, how the river was looking that week, etc. He also had a pretty epic, fully loaded boat with great gear, and a cool rig to pull it. He took us out to Beach 22 for launch and found some really great areas to set up in, he brought the best bait, set up the gear, and gave us incredibly helpful direction. Once he saw my husband was comfortable with the gear, he was able to let him cast the line as well. My husband and I have been fishing since we were kids but, when you're in a new area with a local, you watch and learn and listen the best you can until you're given the 'green light' to go ahead and help. Neil treated us with respect and we did the same to him, plus, he was super fun, laid back, and really easy to get along with! My husband and I caught 27 sturgeon between the two days we were fishing with Neil, and we still can't stop smiling. It was THE best fishing experience we've ever had and it exceeded our expectations. There were also a cool crew of animal friends at the lodge. At any time there were 3-4 dogs, a cat named 'Paul', a herd of bison, a coop of chickens, and 2 resident donkeys. Personally, I love places that have animals around. I thought this was a birthday gift for my husband? It was really a gift for us both because we both loved it so much. This is not just a 'for the guys' lodge so, ladies, step up your game and take your man on a vacation! This is a luxury fishing lodge set amidst beautiful scenery with amazing accommodations, 5 star meals, top-tier fishing, and truly kind people. You will be pampered and spoiled. (Did I mention that, upon check in, one of the office ladies will walk you to your room, invite you in, and make sure everything about the room is explained? PLUS, there's a sweet complimentary treat waiting for you on the bed.)
