First Visit -- Mixed Feelings First time trying Bad Ass Coffee of Hawaii, and I walked away with mixed feelings. We ordered 2 sandwiches, 2 coffees, and 6 malasadas. Let's start with the ordering process. The young lady at the register was polite but seemed a bit confused. We told her it was our first time, and when we said we wanted six malasadas, she replied "so three?" twice. My wife corrected her, saying "no, six," and again got "yes, three." That back-and-forth could've been avoided with a simple explanation like, "No problem, just so you know, they're sold in pairs I'll ring you up for six." Instead, it turned into a small but frustrating moment. We got called up three separate times. once for sandwiches, then for coffee, then for malasadas. Not sure why it couldn't have all come out together. Time is valuable, and standing up three times for one order feels unnecessary. As a customer anywhere dont like my time being wasted. Customer service: Everyone was polite and patient, especially since it was our first visit. No attitude, just could use a little more attention to detail for new customers. I did go back up to see if they can add cream to take away the bitterness. Waited a few minutes even after eye contact as if they really didn't want to fix an issue. More time wasted. Food- Looked better in the pictures. It seems like most of it is premade and reheated, likely microwaved or oven-warmed. The Bad Ass One Sandwich (Spam, egg, pineapple, BBQ sauce) -- The spam looked undercooked, and I didn't taste any BBQ sauce. Honestly, not so "bad ass." Would've been much better if cooked fresh on a griddle. Bacon, Egg, and Cheddar Sandwich -- This one was solid. Simple, good, nothing overhyped. Malasadas -- We got 6 (3 pairs... lesson learned). They were dry and crumbly, not the soft, pillowy kind we know. My wife's from Guam, so malasadas are kind of a big deal for her, and these didn't hit the mark. They're more like mochi donuts as far as the round shape. Dry donut texture . If you've never had malasadas before, maybe try one pair first before committing to three.. look up Islam sushi in Vegas. Look at their Yelp page and see what a true malasada are. Especially the custard filled ones. Coffee My mocha iced coffee -- super bitter, strong, and had a ton of syrup sitting at the bottom. Not for me. My wife's hot mocha coffee -- perfect balance, smooth and flavorful. Funny how the same drink turned out completely different. There was also a $1.10 upcharge for each almond or coconut milk coffee. Would've appreciated a heads-up since we said it was our first time I would've just gone with regular milk. Total: $41.87 -- not cheap for what we got. Overall, I'd give Bad Ass Coffee of Hawaii a 3 out of 5. The place is clean, the staff is friendly, but the food and coffee need more consistency and fresh prep to match the prices and the name. I wouldn't drive out of my way for it, but if you're nearby, give it a try and see for yourself maybe your experience will hit better than ours.

Sa this spot when driving down the freeway. Finally got a chance to try it a few weeks ago. I tried the regular hot latte first with no added flavor to see what kind of coffee I was working with. I have now tried the three wave hot latte and the tasty donuts. Run here not walk...Here are my thoughts: Regular Latte- Robust good quality bean. A coffee that can hold its own. Flavor only enhances the mature bean flavor it does not mask it. Definitely a contender to more well known establishments. Three Wave Hot Latte- the coconut is prevalent and tasty along with the other flavors. Very rich and has a depth of flavor all the way to the last drop. Top notch coffee! Twisted Malasada Donuts- OMG these pillowy soft delights are well above a regular donut. The twist of the dough locks in the softness and tenderness once cooked. The cinnamon and sugar dusted all over brings the experience full circle. I have to stay away from these. I can see it getting out of hand.

I'll give them another try- awesome- friendly- service with a smile! Great variety but my coffee was $6 for the smallest cup- I ordered the three waves and asked to cut the sugar just a bit- but it kind of tasted liked hot foam. I wanted to love it- but it was a miss. Not a strong coffee flavor- wahh. I love coffee from Hawaii and wanted to love this place. Really sweet people though. I paid $6 for a cup and added the tip on the signature screen- but left with a not so great tasting coffee.

I come here for the coffee ice cubes! What a great concept as it keeps my iced coffee from getting watered down as the ice melts. But I can't wait to try the Koffee Kooler in the slushee machine. I have been in store and thru the drive-thru and have had excellent service every time. I drive out of my way to come here for my afternoon caffeine fix.

Nice new location in McKinney. Large space for meeting up with friends or working. Great select of take home coffee and merchandise. Plenty of options for coffee drinks- hot, iced, or cold brew. Plus, you can get 100% Kona here. I tried the lava cold brew and it was delicious. Will definitely return.

First time trying out this place and I thought the coffee was great. Service was super sweet and the place has plenty of tables and chairs to sit and work as well. We got the 3 waves, turtle kick, grilled cheese, and 7 layer bar. The ice cubes are great, I would have not noticed them unless I read the other reviews about the coffee cubes. The bar was a bit too much for me, not something I would get again, but the husband loved it. Just wished it wasn't in such an awkward location, either way, I'll be coming back to try more!

The Kona coffee was good, but it was way too hot. We couldn't drink it for almost 20 minutes.

And this stop? Exactly what I needed. I found myself at Summer Moon Coffee, leaning into a moment that felt slow, intentional... almost like time paused just long enough for me to catch up with myself. Let's talk about it. The Drink: Quarter Moon White Chocolate Latte. Smooth. Creamy. Elevated. That perfect balance of rich espresso and subtle sweetness--not overpowering, just enough to make you pause after the first sip. And that signature Moon Milk? Yeah... that's the difference. The Experience: Warm. Inviting. Uncomplicated. The kind of place where you don't feel rushed--you feel received.
