It hit my no-bueno-button: grissel and fat, albiet not a lot. Gotta get that meat clean folks. Staff was friendly (... and learning). Also, it was supa-cold up in there, brrrr-ito. In the Drive thru The first time I went to the Chandler location I signed up for the app and was not able to use the free taco. The person at the window said the system was down so they gave me a coupon for a free taco. My next two visits have not gone so well using the coupon, At the drive thru my paper receipt and what I was charged on my credit card have been different. The first time I caught it at the reader. Then the person at the window complained that the wifi was not good and things don't always work. Blaming the wifi for the register and cc reader not sinking. today I asked if the app was working an was told by the same person that the wifi was bad at this store and to take a screen shot. She read the bar code on my phone and it took off 1 taco. looked at my paper receipt it showed 2 tacos and one was subtracted. GREAT the app is working. then about 10 minuets later the text from my bank showed the original total. Then I realized I had to make them change the total on the card reader. So I have decided to not go to this location any more. But seeing as the other locations are nowhere on my daily paths I probably just wont go to any locations. This is probably my favorite place around. Best tacos you can find anywhere. When I think of quesadillas it's usually just a small tortilla with cheese for the kids, but their quesadillas are phenomenal and completely loaded. Horrible Service!!!! I stopped to get some tacos for diner and the place was not even busy. I walked in and was standing at the counter and an employee walked by, looked at me and walked away. I figured he was maybe a cook and couldn't take an order. Since no person was taking my order, I decided to nicely ask one of the ladies preparing the food if she could help me. She looked at me, rolled her eyes and turned away. I decided to walk out from this place where clearly they DO NOT CARE ABOUT CUSTOMERS. Come here for the Carne Asada. That's what made them popular in Mesa. Don't judge this place by anything else. You'll be disappointed for the most part. I have gone to Backyard Taco quite a bit, but this location is not what I expect. The food is good always good, but the last time I went they were playing rap music instead of Mexican. There is also a problem with there rewards program, for my account so now I have to have the cashier enter my phone number.... but no me that was available knew how to do that. - Multiple disappointing visits to this location is what caused me to finally write a bad review. read more

Thought I would give them a shot. I would not recommend them to any of my friends. The beans and chips was plain and clearly from a can and not made in house. The salsas were sub par at best and seem just as canned as the beans. Sorry Phoenix as so many mexican food places to choose from this would be one to avoid if you want tasty food for the price. The burritos, burrito bowls, etc are pretty pricy for not much food. For the same price at chipotle I get much more food, and don't get nickel and dimed for extras like sour cream. read more

We ordered gorditas and tacos. The tacos were decent, salsas were hot but lacked flavor and seasoning, the al pastor, steak and chicken were good. The Gordita dough was literally so hard you couldn't bite through it or cut it with a knife. read more

One of my go to taco spots. The food is delicious and the flavorful. The portion size is just right and they offer a great variety of different salsas. I usually order online so it's fast and convenient. They offer both indoor and outdoor seating and the restaurant is Covid friendly. read more

What happened to this place! Ordered take out food recently. 1 carne asada burrito and 8 carne asada tacos. Got home and only 4 tacos in the bag. Drove back- 40 minutes got the other 4 tacos. Got home and ate the meal with guests. Absolutely horrible! Meat was tough,stringy, and had no flavor. 3 hours later massive diarrhea. Won't be going back anytime soon. We just got take out from here the other day and the food was so good. Nice portion size not too big and not too small. The flavors were amazing! It was light and filling and just an all around great experience! I don't like taking a risk by ordering something new but I'm trying to step out of my bubble and I'm really glad we did. Never had Backyard Taco until today and I was pleasantly surprised! I ordered and received my food via DoorDash. The asada here is great! Nice little char to it! Not that grey, chewy crap! I had the asada vampiro (similar to a tostada, has cheese, meat, cabbage, some red onions), asada taco on flour, birria on corn and al pastor taco. The birria taco was tasty but highly recommend eating that dine in! It's a juicy, shredded beef and so the tortilla will get soggy quick if not eaten quickly. I wasn't too fond of the al pastor, not terrible but just wasn't my favorite. Lots of meat on these tacos, I'm wondering if next time I'll just order 1 taco and ask for an extra tortillas. One taco makes 2 tacos. The salsas were also very tasty! All of them were good, and spicy salsas are spicy! Also ordered beans and chips and that was also good. Chips were great but on the thin side so dipping them into the beans caused them to break lol. I'm glad this is close to home because I will definitely be back! The asada burritos here must be delicious and I'm going to find out one day. read more

I was really excited about BYT coming to my area. Tried 3 times and all failures. Quesadilla cold with barely any cheese. Chips and salsa- salsa disgusting. Burrito cold. The soda was the only decent thing...I'll go to Del taco or Taco Bell next time. Either would have been better. Over priced and over rated. read more

This place is terrible. I ordered a steak and chicken taco. Took one bit of each. Terrible. I threw them out. Steak was bland. Chicken was so dry. Don't bother unless you want to waste a lot of money. Ill never go back. The only reason I have it 2 stars and one. Staff was very friendly. read more

3 stars because their food is really good, however the last two times I've gone they messed up my order in the drivethru. I live in Queen Creek, so it's a bit of a drive. The first time they forgot two tacos, and the second time they forgot to put my salsa in the bag, even after asking what kind I wanted. Just pretty disappointing to drive 20 minutes to realize you are missing something and not worth the drive back. Wish they would pick it up at the drivethru. read more

It's OK. Nothing special. A bit overpriced and my chicken burrito bowl was very salty. They used cheap tiny styrofoam containers and plates for everything, including dine-in, which definitely diluted the dine-in experience. read more

Do yourself a favor and go to Maskadores on Gilbert and Queen Creek instead. The food here is bland and does NOT taste authentic. Don't expect rice - they don't sell it - and you basically can't customize your order. It's like fast food tacos. Total disappointment. read more
