I went with my wife and some family members. We rushed before 4pm on a Sunday to get there but they stayed opened well past Sunday hours. I got two carne asada tacos and the ribeye taco. I got the salsa on the side to control how picante I wanted it. That worked well. Salsa was good! My wife got quesabirrias with its consomé. It was all yummy, worth the price and visit.

Takes a while to get your order, but everything we got was bomb.com.... Highly recommend!!!

The Ribeye taco will thrill you!

The Ribeye taco is a game changer. I double dare you to try one. Get the hot sauce on the side to ensure you don't die, but it's good! I came on my birthday and recieved a free desert.

Al Pastor taco

The service is very good but it's order at the counter and then they bring the food to your table. Of which they only have 4 small tables inside but several outside. The menu is large. Too large. You really should look at the menu online before you come in. I ordered the queso birria taco and one Al pastor taco. The birria was very tender but needed more flavor. The Al pastor meat had zero flavor. Unlike other taco places they don't have a salsa or condiment bar. If they added a salsa bar I'd try the birria again by the birria a mile down Alma School is so much better. Very average.

Need to lose the paper on the bottom

Had the backyard plate with steak grilled onions with the sides. Losing a star for the itty bitty salsa containers. Salsa and pico were spot on for bust out flavor. Service needs to step up the friendly factor. Just a few table inside so go when the weather it right to be sitting outside. I'd love to see a salsa bar in this place.

Delicious tacos with many different choices ! Service was friendly and fast ! Ambiance was okay it's not a fancy place but clean. Not a place to linger eat and leave bro. Flip that table ya know ! Be back to try more stuff. Expensive but great quality and generous portions.

NY Steak tacos! The best friggin' tacos! Seasoned, flavorful, juicy, spicy, perfect! Worth $7.00 ea!

Oh, what a find! I heard about Gordo's Tacos and I also caught an Instagram clip of the rib-eye tacos. What even impressed me the most was the $7.00 price for what looked like a breakfast steak in a taco shell. I finally talked the wife into driving into Chandler to try Gordos Tacos newest spot on Alma School Rd. I was looking forward to trying their rib-eye tacos. When we arrived the restaurant was smaller than expected. They had a few tables inside, but more on their outside patio. We browsed the menu on the wall which had quite a few selections. But I wasn't deterred. There was a written note covering where the Rib-Eye taco was on the menu. Written on the note was ' New York Steak tacos. Ok, no problem! We ordered three New York Steak tacos and crossed our fingers they would be prepared the same way as their Rib-Eye tacos, charbroiled whole. It took a while for our order, but we weren't in a rush. When our order arrived, we weren't pleasantly surprised. Although the guacamole and salsa that is typically served on rib eye tacos was replaced with grilled onions and salsa; it wasn't a big deal. We took our first bite and BAM! Flavor bomb! The steak was seasoned well, charbroiled to perfection, and flavorful. They were surprisingly tender too! My wife said it was the best taco she ever had. I'm bringing my son and riding buddy here next. They will love this! For $7.00 each, it's a steal! Two tacos and I was more than satisfied! I didn't feel bogged down and sluggish like I normally would be if I ate a burrito or tacos with rice and beans for example. I will add guacamole or guacamole salsa next time though. It's just more eye appealing. See you soon Gordos, possibly at your Ahwatukee location since my son lives closer to that location!

Gordo's Tacos is a great little fast casual spot that just opened up in Chandler, and it's definitely worth checking out. It's a small location, so don't expect a ton of seating, but the food is fantastic. We ran into a minor issue where their POS system was down, so it was cash only that day. I am so glad I ordered the loaded baked potato. It was amazing and massive. Even with the tech glitch, the speedy service and the incredible food make this a solid addition to the area.

Quesa Birria

Came here after seeing the IG posts about the ribeye taco but also wanted to try a few of the other items. We got the Ribeye Taco, Tequila Lime Shrimp Taco, Quesa Birria, and Shrimp Ceviche Tostada. Overall, everything was delicious but the Ribeye Taco stands out compared to the other items or even tacos from other places. It's cooked perfectly so still maintaining the tenderness but also perfectly seared for the crispy outer edges. The seasoning was well done balancing the savoriness of the meat, paired with a sauce that'll give you a nice kick, then cooled down with the creamy guac. While the other items were great as well, I wholeheartedly recommend the ribeye taco. Other notes, the Shrimp Ceviche Tostada was my second favorite, followed by the Shrimp Taco, and lastly the Quesa Birria. While the Birria wasn't bad by any means I just had higher expectations given the #1 taco note, otherwise still enjoyable. Also, I wasn't expecting to enjoy the veggies as much as I did in the Shrimp Tacos. The cabbage slaw and roaster red peppers honestly could've served as it's own veggie taco. All in all, I'll be back for more ribeye tacos and I also noticed they had a NY steak taco written on post-it. Hopefully it'll still be available next time I'm here.

The best birria tacos I've ever had. So glad I stumbled in today (randomly popped in after going to the golf store next store). Great service, too. Would definitely recommend giving it a shot.

Ribeye taco to the left and cabeza taco
Rox R.

The ribeye taco is tender but way to messy. I also had the cabeza taco which was very greasy and again messy. The tortillas were falling apart. The beans were not fully mashed so they had clumps which to me wasn't good. The rice had some weird spice taste to it. Seating is minimal with only a few tables inside and outside. Honestly just not what I was expecting. The employees were nice.

Top left 1950's taco. Top right la diabla shrimp taco. Lower left pastor taco and lower right ribeye taco

I was driving by and saw this new taco spot open up so I swung in for a bite, and man I'm glad I did! The menu was pretty impressive but I gotta say the ribeye taco is what really caught my eye. It's literally a whole ribeye steak that is marinated and seasoned to perfection with a healthy dollop of yummy guacamole on two corn tortillas. Let me tell you this Taco is big two of them and I was full. The steak seasoned perfectly, my first bite I was amazed at how tender the meat was. I was expecting it to be chewy because it's literally an entire slice of a ribeye and it's not diced up. No, it melted in my mouth and I was hooked. The guacamole was very good, fresh and tasty and the perfect amount. I drizzled some of the salsa on it and I was in flavor heaven. I had ordered a pastor taco as well, another great taco! It was a very generous amount of pastor. It too was tender and moist and full of flavor. These two tacos so far will be my favorites for sure. I also tried the 1950 gringo taco, it was ground beef on a hard crunchy corn shell like Taco Bell style. The meat was very tasty but a little saltier than I like. I think if they eased up on the seasoning this taco would be great as well. Finally the last taco I tried was the la diabla shrimp taco, it looked very intimidating and spicy, the shrimp we're sitting in a spicy tomato sauce on a corn tortilla with cabbage and a chipotle mayo sauce. To my surprise it wasn't as hot as it looked and was very tasty. I enjoyed this shrimp taco very much, my only complaint was there wasn't a whole lot of shrimp, I think I counted 4 medium size shrimp and it's a big taco. I loved it just needed like at least two more shrimp to make it perfect. The menu is big with plenty of variety from tacos to nachos, enchiladas and even pozole which I'm anxious to come back and try. They will be serving alcohol but we're not at the time of my visit, I guess they're waiting on the license to go through. The inside dining area is kinda small I counted 5 or 6 tables that could seat 4 each. But they have a nice little patio out front and plan on adding tv's for sports and outside dining. I'm glad I got to try this place before it blows up and with tacos as flavorful as this it's definitely going to be a popular spot.

Delicious!!!!! Friendly staff. The Ribeye taco has incredible flavor and the 1950 taco was a great recommendation by the staff. It was busy, which is a good sign, and I can understand why. I'll be back here often.

Ribeye tacos were great. Small wait at 10-15 minutes but well worth it. Will be returning.

Long wait. Food is okay but be prepared to wait. I ordered two items: flautas and a bean burrito. Waited over 30 minutes. I won't be back.

I've never left a Mexican restaurant hungry before... until now…read more To be honest, I couldn't really tell from the photos online exactly what kind of place this was going to be. The ambiance was fine -- kind of a casual Mazatlán vibe according to my wife -- though the giant "No Firearms" sign on the front door was the first thing my daughter noticed when we pulled up. Not exactly the warmest welcome. We ordered two Birria Burrito bowls, a kids quesadilla combo, and two bean & cheese burritos (they didn't have a burrito option on the kids combo, so we had to order the regular burritos and then got upsold to make them chimichangas). We also added rice and beans as sides for the kids meal which was extra. No drinks, standard tip, and the total came to $73 for five of us. When the food arrived, it was shocking how small the portions were for the price: * The birria burrito bowls (~$14 each) came in a small aluminum foil to-go container that looked more like a personal pan pizza than a proper burrito bowl. The rice and beans were barely there at the bottom. Tasted good, but it was hardly a meal. * My daughter's kids quesadilla was tiny -- smaller than the free kids quesadillas we used to get at Café Rio. The only other things on her plate were two small styrofoam cups of rice and beans that we paid extra for. Her whole combo was over $10. * The bean and cheese burritos were a decent size and the only thing that felt like a fair portion, but even those were $10 each. The guacamole looked like processed/store-bought. Overall, it was easily the least satisfying Mexican meal I've had in a long time. The food wasn't bad tasting, but the tiny portions combined with the upselling and high prices left all of us still hungry and disappointed. For what we paid, we expected a lot more food on the plates. Won't be rushing back.

We got the 4 person party pack with carne Asada and al pastor tacos. It also came with some chips…read moreand sides. Food came out a little slow even when it was dead inside. I liked the carne Asada it was really good, the al pastor was alright, i wouldn't eat it again. I've had better carne asada tacos (like at taco boys) but it was still pretty good Honestly tho all that for $60 was a pretty good deal.

The elevated atmosphere struck the perfect balance of upscale and inviting. Party of four--two of us visiting from San Antonio (so yes... we take our Mexican food seriously), and two who were honestly a little hesitant walking in because the menu isn't your typical Tex-Mex lineup. But let me tell you... by the end of the night, everyone was completely sold. We kicked things off with the shrimp aguachile verde, chips, salsa, and fresh guacamole--bright, fresh, and packed with flavor. Every bite felt intentional and elevated. For entrées, we went all in: Sonora taco, green enchiladas, bacanora tacos, and green chili cream enchiladas. Each dish had its own personality and depth--this is not your average Mexican restaurant, and that's EXACTLY what makes it so good. Service absolutely matched the food. Jasmine was incredible--warm, attentive, and genuinely engaged in making sure we had a great experience. Then manager Kevin stopped by personally to check on us, which took things to another level of hospitality. And just when we thought it couldn't get better... dessert. Kevin brought out an off-menu, down-home key lime cheesecake recipe from his mom--paired with fried ice cream--and WOW!! Easily one of the best desserts we've had in a long time. If you're hesitant because it's not "what you're used to," lean into that. This place is authentic, elevated, and absolutely worth it. We'll 100% be back.
