We hired Backyard Oasis to build backyard outdoor kitchen. From the beginning to the end the process with this company was horrible. We went weeks during the project that no one would even show up for work. We actually finished installing the appliances because just tired of waiting for it to get finished. No one came out to see it, they just wanted their check. After about 2 years the stone started to fall off the chimney and various other places around the kitchen. Since it was passed the year the Backyard Oasis didn't care about the shabby work done. We had to hire someone to come an redo our complete chimney would cost another $3000. We were told it was done completely wrong using incorrect materials to do the job correctly. Would never recommend this company. read more

We got estimates from several pool builders but none of them were able to match what Backyard Oasis could provide. They were very nice, professional and in business for over 20 years (that's impo. They had us in to their office to go over a computer rendition of exactly what we were looking for, so everyone was on the same page of what was expected. Aaron did a great job designing our pool. Jacob, the superintendent, was great to work with as he kept us fully informed from start to completion! We couldn't be happier with how our pool turned out! I purchased a home with a Backyard Oasis pool that was installed in 2018. The homeowner hired Backyard Oasis to install the pool along with pavers around the pool. After a few months the pavers started to shift and after three years the movement was so bad that I had to bring out another contractor to tear up most of the pavers around the pool. They found two significant issues with Backyard Oasis's construction process: 1. the pool drain piping was not glued together at all in some places and poorly glued in other places allowing the joints to separate under the pavers. Each time the pool drained off water, it was eroding the base below the pavers and 2. there was a large drop at the end of the pavers on one side of the pool and instead of adding a footer and proper retaining wall, they just slapped concrete siding over the underlayment that quickly started to deteriorate. Just three years after being built, we had to spend over $6000 to fix the underlayment and pipes that would never have been needed if the pool pavers and plumbing had been installed properly. I called Backyard Oasis to let them know what we found. They sent someone out to evaluate the work but said that since it was no longer under warranty, they would not be making any repairs. However, as a token of goodwill, they offered to let me attend their one-hour pool school. You may appear to have a beautiful looking product when they finish but watch them closely because you could end up with my situation two or three years down the road after your warranty is expired. Having things done right the first time may take a few extra minutes and cost a little more but it will save you money and a big headache in the long run. read more

Very professional and just great people to work with! Backyard Oasis did a fine job and built a beautiful pool, patio and outdoor kitchen that I will enjoy for years to come! I highly recommend them, everyone from the design team to their subcontractors were fantastic. I loved their masons! Such wonderful and fine work on my weeping wall and coping and tile, just really impressive work. All of their sub contractors were nice, respectful and did very good work, I really did enjoy watching the progress of my project. I having a really bad experience with this company they charge me 27k before I was even approved by my HOA so me I'm ok well once I paid them I was approved a month later well once I was approved they sent sales people to come do the layout in my backyard not contractors and that was only because I started asking questions about how they got to $267,900 and they said they did not have a clue on what I was asking a since they could not get the drawing right and they kept messing up I got nervous with them and no longer want to work with them so they start telling me I have to work with them or else they gonna charge me for not going through with them I have in writing they said my 27k was for other stuff that has not be done now they saying they charging me $23,500 for a part that cost $11,900 and going to send be a total bill for $38,500 and they have not done anything. So Saturday they sent me what I been asking for and basically begging me to allow them to do my pool I still said no and the crazy thing they sent the itemized statement that was $294k I'm so confused on the changing of their prices and the lady Cheryl come out with a sheet of paper talking about this how she do her measurements....me like o really?beware of this company large pools not their forte. I ALSO HAVE WHAT I AM SHARING IN WRITING TEXT AND EMAIL......REALLY THEY BASICALLY BLACKMAILING ME TO USED THEM OR ELSE TO THE COURT THEY WILL TAKE ME. Where do I start? First, the team at backyard oasis built us our dream pool. When we first met with Hannah, we gave her all our ideas for a pool. We had limited space due to an easement, she measured and said what we want it doable. We went back to the office to see our dream pool. The design was everything we asked for and then some. Then we started the built process. The team moved along quickly with scheduling and keeping us informed of everything along the way. They even made a space in out yard to keep our four legged kids out of the construction area. There were also many clean ups along the way. The owner Cheryl came out a few times to check on the project along with the way. Cheryl and her team make you feel like family and they all want you to be happy with the end result. It was the worse experience ever when we signed with them, to do our pool. From the beginning their was poor communication and they kept having staffing issues that effected deadlines. We signed in September and our pool just finished last month. I literally told them that I regret signing with them and I had rather gone with another company and pay more money. They also left a mess all the time, ruined my front yard and flower bed. Oh and the owners dauhgter is very rude, I called and complained and she thought to laugh while I'm literally crying of so much frustration. Trust me when I say go with someone else. read more

My husband and I cannot say enough wonderful things about Backyard Oasis and their representatives. When we first began looking for a pool builder, we met with multiple companies but knew instantly Backyard was our choice when we met Marc McDonald. Marc is one of the most genuine and hard working individuals we have ever met. We discussed our ideas and what was important to us and he literally turned our dreams into reality. During the design process, it was very simple to make adjustments and Marc would always come to the rescue within minutes to help us with his recommendations. This was our first time building a pool, so it was very important to us to work with someone that was available and would give us an honest opinion based on their experience. Tommie was the individual in charge of scheduling, and she has the perfect personality for it! Her sense of humor and contagious laugh is just what you want when dealing with contractors, she truly made this process way more enjoyable than construction ever should be! We're currently trying to find something else for Backyard to build for us because we know she is missing our daily chats :) She picked up right where Marc left off and was on top of EVERYTHING. Heck she had guys working on the 4th of July! She is extremely knowledgeable with the timing of all of the crews and knows just when to push them to get something moving to keep the timeline perfect. I was concerned about the backyard progress since we have two dogs and a toddler, but the workers kept the yard very tidy and scheduled frequent clean ups which made the process very easy! Paul, our super, was amazing working with the crews and overseeing their process. He is very professional and has very high standards for the work done, which we didn't mind of course! He has stayed in contact with us weeks after the build just to follow up and see if we have any other questions. He is so friendly and a very hard worker. Cheryl, the owner, welcomed us with a hug and immediately made us feel like family. She personally checked in to see if we had any questions and would come to the house to view the progress. With Backyard Oasis you literally get a team of people that are constantly working together to make sure the process is smooth and the results are perfection. We hold very high standards to the companies we choose to work with and will never build a pool with another company. This is a 5 star for Tami! Back yard Oasis started our pool October 2014 and finish around February 2015. I don't think this was a very good time for us to start a pool because of all the rain but, come summer it was ready. We had our hiccups along the way but overall in the end we are pleased with the outcome. I have really got to know Tami along the way. Tami is the one that will answer the phone when you call and she is the first one that hears of any problems. Tami is a firefighter!! She will jump on any fire/problem and get it resolved as fast as she can. Tami will do what it takes to get the job done no matter how big or how small the problem is. There is not a big or small problem to Tami, it's a problem, and she is going to see that problem is taken care of no matter what it takes. If you choose to have a pool built and choose to use Back Yard Oasis I would ask if there was a girl there by the name of Tami. If she is there I can honestly say you are in good hands!! DO NOT use Backyard Oasis to build a pool. I could write a really long review on how negative of an experience the building process was... but it seems all of the reviews online focus on that topic and therefore would not provide valuable information to a potential customer. In less than 3 years of building the pool the gas pipes that they installed started leaking gas. Not only did I have to pay to have the pipes fixed, but I also had to pay $1000 in gas charges. The employees at Backyard Oasis are professional but they do not care about the quality of work that they deliver and will disregard your concerns. I will continue to leave reviews in hopes of saving someone from the headache of dealing with Backyard Oasis. read more

First & foremost, I am happy to see the above review, as we've been told several times by Backyard Oasis, Inc., that we are the first customers to ever complain. LOL !! Also, I would have rated this dishonest & aggravating company with NEGATIVE stars, if that was at all possible. We have been dealing unsuccessfully with this company since FEBRUARY! Their mindset has been & continues to be: .......Forget about taking care of the customer or the customers' satisfaction...... Backyard Oasis, Inc.'s PRIMARY concern is taking care of their very deep & very greedy pocketbooks. Backyard Oasis, Inc. collected a very large sum of our hard-earned money ($ 5 figures) @ the start of this project while we still had good faith in them. To date, nothing has been accomplished except for a very poorly-done demolition job the weekend of May 11-12. Our existing pool was drained and the very large deck area totally torn up & all of it continues to look the same way now as it did then (6 weeks ago!) Due to the great difficulties we were having getting this job to proceed, we requested our money to be returned from Backyard Oasis, Inc. , but this company has not done so. They continue to hold on to our large amt of money (50% of the total job) & give us nothing but laughable excuses and rude arguments. Consequently, we have had to file a complaint with the BBB & also hire an attorney. My husband & I continue to follow the BBB's recommendations to get our money back, but so far........NOTHING! Finally, this originally exciting & greatly anticipated backyard remodel project has been, still is, & will continue to be our biggest NIGHTMARE ever!! read more

We utilized Backyard Oasis several years ago for a pool and patio remodel, including changing the pool to salt water. Everything they did has failed. We spent so much money on replacing the inferior salt water equipment that we gave up and went back to chlorine. The equipment they installed was "contractor grade", very poor quality. The subcontractors they used for the concrete work ruined my windows and patio furniture. Do not use them. read more

We had a pool installed 1 year ago. The decking and concrete work was very poor quality, and the contractors left our yard in shambles causing drainage issues. The company refuses to regrade the yard to it's original condition. Our neighbors have told us their pool contractor regraded and replaced the dirt / grass that was damaged by equipment. I am completely disgusted by the lack of professionalism with this company. Three months ago, I set up a meeting with their representative "Robert Tidwell", and after several phone conversations and on-site visits, i waited for a bid. A month later, still no bid. I contacted Robert via email to inquire what the status was and I was told to give them a couple of days to write up a bid. I waited and waited and another month goes by, still no bid. So finally I decided to seek out another contractor, but before doing that, I emailed Robert Tidwell and the owners Faye ,Bob and Cheryl and expressed my level of disappointment with the service I was receiving from their company and representative. It has been 13 days and I still have not receive a response from anyone. Apparently they simply don't want my business or they don't need it. I was planning a renovation that was upwards of 200k in cost. Perhaps if I have been caucasian, the response would have been different. I guess we will never know read more
