I love coming here but I do miss it being the sandbar. where is the room for dancing? like it's a Friday night. also I brought my boyfriend from out of town and he wasn't impressed which was a let down because I talked this place up to him being a local and all. not the atmosphere you'd typically expect for tonight especially. sad. but nikki was on it and our service was great just the vibe was off here tonight which is unfortunate. read more

Great atmosphere and drinks, ruined by awful food. Servers were good and cute. The cheese quesadillas were only OK and they were served with no pico de gailla or sour cream, just plain and dry. Which is no way to serve quesadillas. A tiny tiny serving of guac was $2 extra, and there's no chalula or tapatio sauce in the place, just watery Tabasco which sucks. The chicken tenders were decent, but the sauce that came with was no good, and there was a big pile of not good fries. They really need to change their fries. The carne asada fries were just disgusting. A big pile of unrecognizable goop with very little meat, on top of nasty fries. Those 3 disappointing apps and 2 beers with tax and tip cost $87. Might go back for fun atmosphere and drinks, but will never order food there again. Better to eat somewhere else first, then go there for drinks. read more

If you're not going to offer happy hour because of the Waste management open...say it on your website or Facebook BEFORE people come in for happy hour. Website AND signs on the table say Monday thru Friday 3-6 ...and we were there on Friday 3-6 with the sign IN OUR HAND off the table...and they still would not honor happy hour. False advertising. Server was great..food was good...but did not appreciate the False advertising. read more

Loud, too loud to hear the person across the table. Took 25 minutes to get my drink, and it was wrong. Not sure how they screwed up a Captain & Diet. They redid it and it was still not a Captain & Diet. They had a DJ that was cranking music on commercial breaks and thought he was LL Cool J. Total mistake. Never going again. read more

Arrived prior to opening to stand in line for table to watch ASU bowl game with a party of 7. We were not able to be seated together due to tables that could accommodate our party didn't have servers available or those tables were being held for ownership group and alumni group reservations for later that afternoon. Interestingly enough those tables were filled several minutes later with patrons that were not ownership or alumni. Poor management and it was not fun being lied to and inconvenienced. Will be taking my business elsewhere. read more

Was at Desert Ridge and we had our pups with us so naturally we had to check out Backyard because it is dog friendly. Super fun place and pretty decent food. We ordered the Chicken Fried Steak from the brunch menu and also the Chicken Biscuit sandwich. For dessert we also shared the Bananas Foster Eggrolls w/Ice Cream. Pretty amazing but wish there was some cinnamon or even chocolate syrup. All around it's a fun dog friendly restaurant with good food, full bar, friendly staff that I recommend read more

The bartender needs so much training. 48 mins to get a spinach dip. No plates or flatware /napkins when it was delivered. We had to ask her for another beer .. bone dry glass Completely in her own world .. no concept of hospitality .. Besides asking her after 35 mins if our order was coming soon.. she probably must have realized she forgot to put order in. Bar wasn't even busy. She was a lollygager .. staring off into space .. zero customer service. The gentlemen who delivered the order .. laughed at us saying.. oh thank you . 45 mins later . Sad he thought that was ok Just because you are packed .. revenue will sooner or later make an impact We really wanted to like this place. read more

They claimed to have an ESPN event here for college football Saturday. Blocking off every single booth that would seat 10+. The booths are completely empty while they have people packed into the normal dining area. Not only are they losing themselves money, but they're losing customers who would've paid hundreds/thousands of dollars. read more

Angie was a fantastic server! She helped us navigate the menu and offered suggestions as it was our first time visiting! We had the nachos, while it was a big portion, the cheese was cold and very unsatisfying. I won't order again! That said, my Tito's spa water with added jalapeños was BOMB! Great vibe and so many TV's! I love that they are super dog friendly tooooo! OMG THEY have a dog menu! read more

Setup is great. Has lots of potential. A few cornhole and giant connect 4 games. Lots of light and air and the walls all open via giant garage doors. Dog friendly. Cool environment for sure. But.... This place is new enough to have clean menus and tables. My son and I were given dirty menus and seated at a dirty table with dirty chairs. I used the menus to scrape (a fair amount of) food off of eachother and the table and chairs off. Ordered a coors light. Few minutes go by, they're out. Ok a miller lite. Few minutes. It's out too. I'll take anything on tap that's a light beer I said. Well we ate some basic nachos with really brown guacamole slapped on top center that we avoided and when we were done the server came by and finally brought the one drink I ordered almost an hour before. Had to go to the drug store for pepto an hour later too. Still sick to my stomach 5 hours later. No idea what happened to the nachos but either the cream or cheese sauce is spoiled or the beef was bad. To be fair the server was very nice and offered to comp the beer. I said thanks but declined. I mean, I did drink it. I paid. Tipped above average. Won't be back. I wouldn't have posted the review had I not had to go get stomach medicine after. These were not crazy nachos. Olives sour cream, beef, pico, chips, cheese, cheese sauce and (very brown) guacamole. You guys can do great business in desert ridge (not with me!) based on volume but if you're going to be serving food like that you'll be doing TGIFridays indoor mall business in 6 months. read more

This was our first time here and I made a reservation for a 6:30 pm Saturday birthday party because it looked super fun! However- this place is obnoxiously loud! I have never been to a restaurant with such loud TV sound in my life. It was literally like being at a concert. You had to yell and use sign language for the person immediately next to you to hear you. I am all for sound while watching a game- but conversation at your table or even placing an order with the server was impossible. Tables around us were also questioning the sound volume. On top of that- The food is basic and the service is slow. The atmosphere is cool- but the volume control, menu, and service need a lot of work. I was super disappointed with my choice for a birthday gathering. If you are going to watch a game and have a drink and be in your own thoughts and talk to no one- then you will love the GIANT TV and sound. If you want to hear your neighbor talk and have a good meal- pick a different spot. read more

First time here and loved it! Came for a Friday lunch and started with what is officially THE best Wedge Salad ever. We always order Wedge's when we see one and this one has walnuts and all the goodies. We also had a very good fried chicken sandwich with fries...both perfect. Great Ranch dressing and the inside seating is real cool and cute. DJ and Live Music Thursday, Friday and Saturday. Coming back soon! read more

We had a great time as a group celebrating birthdays! It was fun to have what felt like our little space with plants around us as we ate loaded nachos and enjoyed each other's company. Only stopped in for a beer, but damn this is a cool spot. I was on vacation and came here for a beer before going down to the D-Backs game. I was floored (see photo with goofy excited grin) to see how huge these TVs are! I would have loved to see a big sporting event here. I liked the vibe and if I were local, I'd def be back. I can't speak on the food, but the service at the bar, draft beer, and atmosphere was a solid 10/10. Cheers! read more

We had an amazing experience there! The food was really good. The restaurants decor was super unique and it's just like you're sitting in your backyard . Taylor was our waitress and she was super sweet and kind. My sons pizza took way longer than expected and the manager was really nice about it and was extremely accommodating for the mess up. And my son ended up throwing up on the table and they were super nice about it even though we felt terrible. This place is a must see in my opinion. It has a fun chill backyard vibe that is dog friendly (they're welcome inside because it's a "backyard") I was a little disappointed to see they only have a 3 star rating because I thoroughly enjoyed the atmosphere, service, and food! We had the best plate of nachos which I will order every time I go! We went on a taco Tuesday and paid $3 per taco. I personally wouldn't order tacos there unless it's tacos Tuesday. I feel that they are overpriced ($17 for 3 on regular days) for their quality. The tacos were good don't get me wrong but I've had better for cheaper. I'm excited to return again and try other menu options read more

Wasn't sure what to expect checking this place out for the first time, during a big game (ASU Peach Bowl). Our party arrived early and waited in line but was able to get seated before kickoff. The bars and dining areas were well staffed and management was floating around tables consistently. We didn't wait long at all for drinks! Maybe we lucked out with a great server based on some of the other reviews...? Food was a little slow but well worth the wait! A pretty diverse menu for a sports bar and everything we tried was awesome, especially the carne asada fries! I do think the atmosphere was interesting with the dog policy, I love these kinds of places, however the service was awful. And beware when they offer appetizers that are not on the menu, 38.00 later.....I felt it was underhanded. *******Warning: Long Post, please read it all******** I recently celebrated my son's 8th birthday at a new restaurant, hoping for a special night out. Despite making a reservation and being understanding of the Friday night rush, our experience was marred by poor service. After being seated, we were forgotten for a total of 35 minutes, having to ask for a server three times while staff at the door giggled and pretended to search for our server. When someone finally came over, they claimed they weren't aware of our table assignment. The waitress, once she arrived, was very apologetic and tried to make up for the delay. However, the meal was disappointing: my shrimp tacos were bitter and rubbery, and my husband's burger, which we requested without onions due to an allergy, had to be sent back only to return with onion pieces still present. Fortunately, the waitress was incredibly sweet and brought our son a complimentary birthday dessert, which he enjoyed. The large TVs and basketball shooting game helped keep our birthday boy entertained, which was a relief. The check was heavily discounted to compensate for the issues, but my attempt to commend our waitress to the manager was met with indifference. The manager ignored our request and avoided our table entirely. While our waitress did her best under the circumstances, the overall experience was marred by the service lapses and managerial neglect. Last night we went back for my husband's birthday, hoping for a better experience than our previous visit over a month ago. Unfortunately, our second visit was just as disappointing as the first, if not more. After making a reservation over a week in advance and noting it was a birthday celebration, we were seated under a giant TV, which thrilled my boys. Our waitress, Parker, introduced herself in a hushed tone, took our drink order, and then vanished. Given the Friday night NFL game, I anticipated some delay in service but noticed that tables ordering alcohol seemed to receive more attentive service. After 15 minutes, we ordered our food it's important for me to note that I had stopped our waitress just shortly after ordering to request the pico on the nachos be brought on the side, she rudely told me to just ask whoever brings my food and they can handle that. My husband's nachos arrived first, but my son's and my meals were nowhere to be seen. Over the next 20+ minutes, we watched other tables receive their orders while our food remained missing. Parker eventually checked on us and assured us my burger would be out in 2 minutes. When it finally arrived 15*+ minutes later, she explained the kitchen was backed up. My husband politely pointed out that other burgers had been served before ours, but Parker cut him off quickly with a dismissive comment about how she would "just discount the food", which was both unhelpful and rude. Before she could rush away again, I requested to speak with the manager, who turned out to be the same male manager from our first visit. He listened to our complaint but responded with a condescending remark about the many happy customers in the restaurant and how it was unfortunate we couldn't be one of them. He then left, promising to talk to Parker so he could get "her side". He never returned, and Parker only became superficially friendly without offering a genuine apology during the remainder of our time there. Once again, our bill was heavily discounted, but this gesture did little to repair the damage done. The combination of poor service, rudeness, and indifferent management means I won't be returning. For anyone seeking a better dining experience, I'd recommend trying other restaurants in the valley where you can get overpriced average bar food and drinks without the hassle. read more

How do you not have Miller Lite on draft or bottles? Violation. Over all good spot to watch the game.

I had high hopes for this restaurant because this place was taking over where Sand Bar was. But I've now been there 3 TIMES, and it's just horrible every time. Their food is horrible. I cannot for the life of me understand why they would choose cheap quality food and have all the prices be $14-25 per item. all of their food looks like it was made by a teenager, I'm not kidding. Presentation wise it looks horrible and incredibly basic, and everything lacks flavor. Please look at the other two star reviews as well on here. Like, U want a plain SIDE salad? $8. U want chicken tenders that come out incredibly burnt, that has no flavor and weird tasting dipping sauces? $14. U want Nachos that have 3x the chip portion to their sauces/meats and nachos that aren't layered & just splat on top? $idk the price but im sure $14-18. U want the worst service from bartenders to hosts to go with that? The Backyard's where it's at! Cocktails are $12-15, beers are $8-13 which is standard but i wish there was something cool about this place, like menu prices being low or maybe justifying the prices with good quality food and drinks?? They definitely have high food prices just because of the ambiance. The sports TVs will attract ppl and some of the kid games, but i can't see why ppl would want to be here because the drinks are boring and simple for $14 each and the food taste like cardboard. Service always is lacking at this place, it's just a bunch of younger teenagers and young adults who make it known there just here to work. The service makes it feel like a dive bar! the other day our server said she was leaving for the night and said she'd get another server for us after we closed out with her. So we closed out with her & she literally never got us a new server. We had to each individual go up to the bar to get drinks, and that may be the way it works but omg, then tell us! All the workers act like ppl are supposed to understand how this place works when it's so confusing. Like What! We all felt so awkward and it happens every time we go here! And I feel like I'm at school cafeteria mixed with a beach vibe and swim meet thing. I don't even know, but everything is so off. The seating is picnic tables and plastic chairs, it's so uncomfortable and weird. I just don't get anything about this place? and Somehow the beer tastes off ?? It just wasn't as crispy or refreshing which was odd because it's on tap. Sticking to Yard house, it has a way better selection and tasting food for the SAME prices and WAY better service! This place has the quality of a Dive Bar (in my opinion looks like on too i just don't get the vibe) with has high prices. like Get out of here! Stop apologizing on yelp for all the bad reviews and make some change! It's incredibly annoying to have another restaurant that's a waste of space in this area. read more

We came Sat night 3/23 around 730PM and the place was packed. Very fun atmosphere. Stumbled upon one spot at the bar and quickly snagged it. Courtney at the bar was absolutely amazing. Super attentive, friendly, charming AND happened to make one of the best drinks I've ever had in my life (which is huge as I am super picky when it comes to cocktails). I spotted the "high tea" on the menu and was extremely curious. Courtney's presentation was beautiful but then came the taste test. WOW. I finished it in 2.5 mins it was so delicious . Please keep this drink on the menu and give Courtney a raise - she is a rare gem. We will definitely be back. Very excited and curious about their full food menu rollout. read more
