Our second time visiting Back Roads, and delighted again. We were blessed to have Brianna M. as our server, she is top notch. Attentive to our needs and quick with drinks. Will be requesting for her next visit. I partakes of the bourbon barrel burger on a pretzel bun. Very tasty, have napkins on the side for sauce clean up. The wife had penne Alla vodka w/ chicken, and after some cajoling, received samples that too very tasty. Reviewed board at entrance, weekly specials throughout, so check them out and request Brianna as I will for sure. read more

My fiancé and I always come to backroads as we live down the street. He always gets a burger (usually the burger of the month) and I recently just started ordering (and loving) the fish tacos! They are so full with fish and definitely don't skimp on the fish! It's also a plus that they carry my favorite vodka, deep eddies peach. Our server, Linda, was absolutely amazing! She was so personably and friendly and made sure we were good and everything was taken care of! Highly recommend! read more

Food was great! Bailey was or server and she was awesome! We've eaten here multiple times always good!

Food was FANTASTIC and our bar tender/server Heather was GREAT!! She gave me wonderful food recommendations. Her recommendation of the angry shrimp was spot on. So good Ingot 2 orders!!! read more

Had a great lunch on the patio!! Thanks for the great service Jillian!! Check out the lunch special burger and the Taco Tuesday deal!

Since day 1 Backroads has always been consistent with their quality of food and drink not to mention the always excellent service. They hire the right people that know how to make their customers feel at home and, feel important. They topped their food game last night , St. Patrick's weekend, with their corned beef and cabbage. Busy night, lots of demand, and still succeeded is making the freshest and most flavorful dish of corned beef, carrots, cabbage and soda bread. Lean and hot! Love this place and, the care and passion the owners have, shows every Single day! Thank you Backroads for the great people and delicious food every time! read more

So, I've driven by Backroads a bunch of times, and I finally got the chance to check it out. And, it was good. The food was great. The tachos were amazing, for my main course I got the 3AM burger, and...it was good. Cooked to perfection, fried egg cooked just right(it had that nice runny quality). The server was super attentive, and kept checking in. The atmosphere was very laid back. I'd definitely go back again. read more

thank the burgers were the best .. I had my own build a burger the waitress was great as well .. prices were a little high though

Kenlen served us on the patio and we enjoyed the Angry Shrimp as an appetizer. It was the perfect size for two people and we enjoyed relaxing outside while we waited for our dinner. My Husband loved the Brat Burger and I ordered my favorite, their Shroomer Burger. They were perfectly cooked and the bun was branded with their restaurant name. Kenlen recommended a martini that wasn't too sweet and it really hit the spot. The restaurant was busy but the service was great! We will continue to come back, again and again. read more

Awesome burgers, always exceeds my expectations. The flavor of the burgers is seasoned to perfection and always cooked exactly as ordered. The serving staff, bartenders & owners are always very friendly. I have also tried the meatloaf, mini burgers & mini pulled pork, chicken rice soup and quite a few other items, never have I been disappointed. Drinks from the bar also have always been great. Their catering is always delicious and very prompt. I would definitely recommend Backroads to anyone. read more

Skylar was great! Always have great food and a good time at Backroads. Highly recommend.

This is an excellent local pub with good food and even better energy. Kenlen is everyone's favorite bartender and ensures that you'll have a great time. read more

As a properly cultured American, I've been around the burger block, so when I say these fine people have provided me a darn good burger, its genuine. The namesake Backroad burger is fantastic, the house made barbecue sauce is unique and delicious. The fries are big, warm, with a pleasant crunch, and the burger comes with an honest to goodness branding that really gives the place a charm and style. I feel as though whoever they have cooking back there respects the cuisine and customers, not in a posh way, but in a wholesome and filling way only real comfort food can. Finally, the rest of the staff, not just the cook, were friendly, professional, and attentive. This review was somewhat hard for an introvert to write, but such was the weight of my obligation and desire to share this experience. When faced with the genuine article, it deserves a genuine reaction. read more

I'd strongly encourage anyone thinking anyone thinking about trying this place give it a couple months to work things out. We tried to eat there tonight and only got as far as our drinks. The waitress couldn't tell us the difference between the two types of "wings" they feature at the top of their menu which wasn't a good sign. While she was checking on the difference between their wings a second waitress came the table and asked us if we had been helped and after we said "yes" the two waitresses thought it would be a good idea to have their debate about who had the table in front of us. The second waitress also yelled to the hostess "what are you guys doing?" Probably not the best thing to do out on the floor. Eventually we just left after putting money on the table for our drinks because we were tired of waiting to place our food order. Probably a wise choice. read more

Always great burgers here, and good drinks too! Tonight to honor the first snowfall of the season I went with the Irish coffee, and it didn't disappoint! Linda H. was our server tonight, and she was very efficient, nice and patient with our rather high maintenance burger orders! Lol at ourselves, not here! Plus I screwed up at Bingo and she even helped me out/recover from that! Ha! Great food, good service, nice friendly employees-if you've never been there, I highly recommend you do! read more

Our waitress, Linda, was superb! Fast service...hot food (Rio Bravo's) made exactly as requested! Drinks and water were plentiful! Her enthusiasm and willingness to please goes above and beyond any servers we've had at other restaurants! Kudos to Linda and to Backtoads!! read more

Great food great service you won't be disappointed. The burgers made out of any meat or veggie you want and the best fries ever! read more

Backroads Burger & Bar - Burgers Near Me - Plainfield, Illinois

Sharon was our server. She was great! The food was delicious, it came fast and was hot. Highly recommend backroads pub and grill.

Great food, great atmosphere, great service. Heather is fantastic behind the bar and service has me coming back.

New establishment recently opened for business. Restaurant/bar is a great improvement from previous establishment(Katie O'Connor). Bar is beautiful with plenty of booths and tables. Nicely decorated in Irish theme. Menu is very simple mainly burgers. The bourbon burger was good with bourbon glaze cheddar cheese and grilled onions. Steak quesadilla was very bland with low quality steak with no flavor. Pretty pricey for Plainfield neighborhood on route 30. Speaking of pricey beware of price differential from menu to actual charge on bill. Owner is aware of difference but will only refund if you notice and make inquiry. Basically a over price burger joint. Check it out for curiosity. read more

I came here yesterday with a few friends and I thought the service and the food were excellent! They had a large beer menu, but I'm not a fan of beer. I ordered the fish and chips. The waitress has informed us the kitchen was a little backed up by about 30 minutes or so, which we were fine with, but the food came out faster than that. The food was delicious! Two of my friends ordered a burger and one ordered the fish tacos. Everyone's food looked really good. Our waitress were very friendly and attentive. She came by often to make sure everything was ok. The only downside is that it's a little far from my house. I wish I lived closer! read more

Fantastic time enjoying great food and SINGO. In a time where it is hard to find workers, our server not only showed up but did a great job. Janae was helpful, friendly and super efficient. I recommend the place and the service. read more

First time at Backroads Pub which was formerly Katie O'Conners. I was looking forward to the new place which I was told was going to be a country themed bar & restaurant. I was disappointed with how much it still feels like Katie's. I was not getting the country feel I was really hoping for. Our group had a variety of burgers, a pulled pork sandwich and fish tacos. Food was good, not anything special. Service was OK, but I could tell the servers are young and still being trained. I am hoping as time goes on they will make more changes to the interior design and food will improve. read more

This place is for drinking, pass on the food. Drinks are great as it's hard to mess them up. The food was mediocre at best. We got the nachos as an appetizer and it looked like a bag of tostado chips with shredded lettuce lettuce thrown on and shredded cheese that wasn't even melted. I got a salad and my partner got tacos... The tacos came with rice that I'm pretty sure was just boxed rice and my lettuce had brown spots. Great location for drinking, but get a meal elsewhere! read more

Second time here. Loved everything we ordered. Tried the carrot cake tonight- it was delicious! Philly rolls were yummy as an appetizer. So glad we found a new place to eat at! read more

Visited backroads on a Sunday for dinner. Wife past by one day and said we should check it out Good food good services and fast. We had $2 domestic bottles with our dinner which is nice to add promos like that still exist. The burger menu was great with tons of unique options. My daughter loved the mini cheese burgers on the wee ones menu. We will definitely go back again read more

The Angry Shrimp were delicious! Ordered the Stacs Burger and WOW...didn't think I could handle it, but it was SO tasty needed to keep eating! Service was excellent and the craft beer selection was superior. We will definitely be going back! So glad that we have a new bbq and burger place that is near us that is also super tasty! read more

I have to say the Angry shrimp is amazing! And Amy F was a fantastic server. Drinks came up promptly. A1 food and service!!

Great food, great atmosphere, awesome bar! Would go back! Grand opening Tuesday at 11:00, check it out.

Stopped in for lunch today. Lots of seating...booths and tables plus outdoor seating with umbrellas. TV screens a plenty. Great burgers with lots of topping options. Cooked as ordered and came with lots of fries, side salad was fresh. Cheese curds were really good with homemade red sauce. Nice, friendly staff and quick to make it right when they forgot an item! We'll be back!! Nice place for couples and families with kids. read more

Have you ever been disrespected by 1/4 cup of shrimp? Have you ever had a soggy salad with old ranch? Have you ever paid $17 for a bland burrito? Look no further. The shrimp did not taste like shrimp. I refuse to believe it was even shrimp. Shriveled and disgusting. They somehow managed to mess up a salad, which I previously thought was impossible. The burrito was bland and just generally awful. All 3 people in my party are good eaters, not picky at all, but this was disgusting. If I could give this place zero stars I would. I made a Yelp account just so I could post this review. I thought yelp was for middle aged women to complain about stupid shit, but I now understand the need. I am trying to save you money. I paid $16 for cold mashed potatoes and disgusting "shrimp." I'm so broke man. You'll be better off a bdubs. This place needs to be nominated for Gordan Ramsay's kitchen nightmares. I have never been so disappointed in my entire life. Beer was fine but it's kinda hard to fuck up giving someone a miller lite. Our waitress was very nice though and I dont blame any of this on her. read more

Enjoyed ourselves there a few times. The food is quite good and the service wasn't bad. Could it all improve a bit? Certainly. I'm giving them the benefit of doubt after having gone there a few times. Nightly specials for the bargain hunters out there. Not specifically my thing, but there are a lot of folks who chase after cheap eats and drinks. Much more open than Katie's was. Not tons of changes, but enough to know it's a different place. Good luck to the folks. read more

We just checked this place out on Saturday afternoon and the food and service were great! We were greeted right away and our server was attentive the whole time. We split the Bbq fries which were amazing! Highly recommend. I had the cheesehead burger which was cooked perfectly with a lot of flavor and my husband had the backroads burger which he enjoyed as well. This place is close to our home and we will definitely be back soon! read more

We have been coming to Backroads since it has opened. It is one of our FAVORITE places in Plainfield. The staff is friendly, the food is excellent, and the drinks are flowing. They have even stepped it up and have some bougee drinks. Specials are awesome as well! On Saturday, Kiersten helped us at the bar and made the most amazing drinks. My husband is an old fashion connoisseur and he was impressed by her old fashion. We highly recommend Backroads! read more
