Heather was an amazing bartender my only complaint was that they closed at 10pm. They should definitely be open much later.

The 2 Heathers are the best, food and atmosphere outstanding. I'll be back and will tell friends. The food is not "barffood", try the medallions. read more

Poor service for takeout! Backroads does takeout orders online, but tonight their online ordering was apparently down - we tried two different computers and the app that Backroads goes through. When I called hoping to place the order by phone, I explained that I was looking to place a phone order because multiple attempts to order online hadn't worked. The person who answered blew me off, saying he wouldn't take the order over the phone. He told me to check the website again in 15 minutes and refresh my browser. If you can't be bothered to help a customer when your website isn't working, you don't deserve their business or their loyalty! read more

The burgers were awesome juicy not dry, the beer was ice cold, the staff was very friendly and attentive, and the atmosphere was great. My wife had the tacos and said they were filling and very good. I highly recommend. read more

Delicious food. The specials were good and the beer was great! Really glad we gave Backroads a try. The patio was a great space during Covid outdoor dining. read more

The food was really good but was disappointing because we had an issue with our waitress she was inattentive and made rude comments to the children at our table about requesting a refill and we watched her point at our table on two separate occasions and speak about us to other servers. Would like to return because of the quality of the food but very unimpressed by the service. read more

Such good burgers! You have your choice of patties and then the different topping combinations-SO GOOD. I love their chicken wild rice soup!!! read more

Great Burgers! We went for the first time with friends. We were impressed with the menu and the beer selection. It was quiet, although we were there early on a Sunday evening. The service was great! read more

Been hear many times over the past few years. The food is always good. The staff is very friendly. Our waitress Skylar was great! Never a disappointment.. read more

Came here on a Monday. Food was excellent and fairly priced. Had a burger sandwiched between 2 grilled cheese sandwiches and a beer, the wife had chicken tenders. Service was also exceptional. read more

Excellent food ! We ordered Online and did carry out due to covid and food was ready on time and excellent highly recommend

Enjoyed drinks and pub style food. Pretzel was very large and good. Enjoyed sandwiches and plenty of TVs to watch games.

We had high expectations but we were disappointed. we ordered fish and chips and build your own burger. Fish and chips were ok. Nothing outstanding. The burger was ok if that is all you want is a burger. If you want cheese, add $1, lettuce, add .50, mayo add .50, tomato add .50. Never heard of this before. Cheese I understand but condiments? Really? Prices were very high and charging for condiments was ridiculous. Won't be coming back. read more

What a great place! The owner Dave and his wife are very welcoming! The staff was awesome and the food is great! Cheers!

First time my wife and I tried this place since they switched ownership. It was solid. Had a hard time choosing because so many things looked good! Wife got one of the complex salads and loved it. I went with one of the burgers and asked for medium-well--severely pink inside still, but the flavors were still awesome for sure. Other positive was the overall superior service and attention. Made us feel the place was managed well because that starts from the top. We will totally be back! read more

Great specials and great staff. The speed of service could be a lot better but as they are new to the area this may improve with time. I would let them work their kinks out before I return. read more

In general, food is ok, drink prices are fair and servers are good. The only reason for writing this review is I have heard for the 4th time from the owner..."we are going thru GROWING PAINS" when it comes to any issues. Issues from cold food to kitchen mistakes to wrong drink orders. The most recent "growing pain" was when I bought a raffle tickets for Bears Jersey and actually won. The owner gave the jersey away to another customer and never apologized and simply gave my ticket money back. Was told told sound system was not working....again more excuses for their inability to treat customers right. read more

I really enjoy going to Backroads. Good food good atmosphere! Will definitely be going back

it was my first time eating here and looking at the menu I was very excited to try a new restaurant! My mother got the fish and chips and unfortunately later on in the day she got really sick from it. I ordered the chicken wings to-go and not only were they not tossed in the sauce I ordered, I also did not receive the extra side of fries I paid for. The chicken was mediocre at best and it tasted like frozen tyson chicken (which would've been preferred to what I received). Overall I felt like I was eating college cafeteria food. read more

Have been here twice. A Ruben the first time & a burger the second. Both had great taste & flavor & generous portions. Their fries are my type of fry & my favorite of any place around. The spicy shrimp appetizer (it's called something else) was not overly spicy. It's really only meant for two people though. Service was almost perfect both times. With a little more experience, servers will be spot on. I don't think their prices are any more expensive than anywhere else so I'm not sure where others' complaints about that come from. Go to downtown Plainfield & you're paying more at three of those establishments plus condiments at one! I would recommend giving Backroads a try. read more

Went yesterday with my family and dined in. Nice looking bar and grill, new to the neighborhood. I ordered the Backroads Brisket and my wife had the Smokey Chicken Wrap. Both were great and they were buy one get one half off on Thursday, which made them that much better. The side tater tots and baby cakes were great as well. And my daughter enjoyed her Mac and cheese. We had top notch service and fantastic food. We'll be back for the food and look forward to a night at the bar when we have a babysitter. Great addition to the area! read more

Great place for sports watching and atmosphere! I had amazing pulled pork sandwich on a gluten free bun! Hubby had wings! So good!

It was just ok, but newly opened, so perhaps worth another try a little later. There were 2 in my party and we each had burgers - one came without the lettuce and tomato, as listed in the description. Once pointed out, it was quickly corrected. Both burgers were good, but not exceptional and a bit overpriced. We also ordered beers that were rung up more expensive than listed on the menu. Again, once pointed out, quickly corrected, but the small issues add up, especially at a new place that should be wowing guests. read more

The food was pretty good, above average bar food. Good sevice and beer selection. Also it has plenty of TVs for catching a game while you eat. read more

Stopped in to get food to go after running an errand around the area. The 3am veggie burger is really good; great quality and portion for the price. Was really impressed by the great staff here. Greeted with a warm welcome and they helped answer my questions about the menu. Really nice people that you could tell love to work there. read more

First time here and we really liked it! Great atmosphere and great food! I ordered the Zesty Zipper burger... but instead of ground beef, substituted it with a brat! Was different but good. Wife ordered the Cheesehead burger and loved it! We will definitely be back for food and drinks! read more

Great food and service. Best fried chicken I ever had. Been their 6 times since I moved out here. Highly recommend this place.

This was the sort of place I had always wanted to try, but put it off because I didn't want to have my unrealistic expectations dashed. Fortunately, after eating on the patio this last nice weekend of the year, all my hopes were realized. The service was excellent - our server was Hailey and she was awesome! I love that the the burger options allow you to pick your protein no matter what concoction of toppings you order. I don't eat meat and my husband doesn't eat red meat, but we were still able to take part in the super creative burgers. I had the seasonal harvest burger with a plant patty and my husband had the stacs with chicken and we both loved them. The fries were battered and delicious. We both agreed that we'll be doing carry out from here often over the long winter. I do hope they expand their beer menu once things return to normal, because I foresee this becoming a new favorite spot for us! read more

Awesome food, awesome service, and reasonably priced. I would highly recommend this place for a night out or for watching sports.

Very good service (Emily) and burgers were good. Good selection of beer with good prices. Very good set up and good amount of TVs. Music was at a very good level to have a conversation at the table. Nice patio once it gets warmer. Management (Stacey) came around to ask how everything was going which was great to see. Nicely done ! Will be back. read more

I really liked this place. I don't like beef so I like that they give you the choice to substitute chicken. I got the burger with the pulled pork on it and though it was amazing. I actually think it goes better with chicken. The appetizers were amazing as well, so was the service. read more

amazing. my waitress brit (she mentioned she was new) was great and very social. i will definitely be coming again. awesome service and brit made me feel very welcome and made my day a little bit better:) great food too. read more

This was our first visit to Backroads Pub. We reserved space for a private party. Scheduling the event was a breeze. During the party, the service was excellent. Our server was very attentive and made sure our group of 30 had everything we ordered. The food was excellent. The appetizers we ordered were of a very good proportion and were delicious. read more

The food was very bland. My husband and I ordered the tator tot nachos with brisket. The brisket had no flavor and the tator tots needed salt. I ordered the burger with horseradish sauce and cheddar cheese. My burger didn't have any horseradish and the cheese was american not cheddar. My husbands burger had no flavor and he was missing the bourbon glaze sauce. We felt very rushed by the waitress. This was our second time here and it will be our last. We were disappointed both times. read more

Saw that this place got high reviews so we thought we would check it out. Four of us went and just thought it was average food. Turkey burger was very plain tasting, nachos were good and filling, chicken wrap and Schroom burger nothing special. Wings where not cooked properly, no flavor as also indicated in a previous review. Fries were not good at all. Fresh fries would be a great addition to the meal. Good service but average food. read more

First time in very longtime that we get charge for Refills , food is just okay but to pay 2.50 for refills is Definitely not OK

The staff was very friendly and energetic. The place was busy but absolutely no pressure to hurry us out. We chatted for a few hours and felt welcome the entire time. The server let us order at our pace. Food was good. I will definitely be back and recommending to others. A great experience. read more
