I've been a customer of Certified Backflow Testing for nearly 20 years. I didn't leave over price…read moreor convenience. I left because of how they handled a mistake. After their technician serviced my backflow preventer this spring, my irrigation system stopped running. I didn't realize it right away. By the time I noticed, my lawn had already browned out and some plants were damaged. When I raised the issue, it took 2-3 weeks of back and forth to get nowhere. Certified Backflow didn't put the valve back to how they found it, which was in working condition. Their procedure states they restore valves to the position in which they are found, but they did not follow this procedure and won't take accountability for it. Management's first response was to hide behind policy rather than acknowledge what happened. They did send their GM out to look at the damage, which I appreciated. But even after seeing it firsthand, they couldn't provide any evidence that the technician left the shutoff valve in the correct position, and they offered nothing toward the damage caused. Mistakes happen. I get that. But after 20 years, I expected better. Finding a new provider.

She explained in detail: allowing mole mounds inside valve boxes causes corrosion of the valves which means they malfunction & need to be replaced -- keep moles out by brick bottom & sealed holes. If a part is bad, she has the replacement. When she's done, your sprinkler valves are set for the season.

Update 2/20/26…read more Unfortunately, despite Jarel coming out and securing the toilet again, in just a few days it started to move again and this time it leaked. Now, I want to provide a fair review so please consider the points below: I called Jarel and let him know. He responded very quickly and offered to come out the following week to evaluate. At this point I decided to reach out to another contractor (and because I had an active leak that couldn't wait). The trouble with this toilet is that we do have a very slight slope on that floor, so I cannot fault Jarel 100%, and I do feel he would genuinely try to fix the issue, but in the end I do think the toilet should have been properly leveled in the beginning (or even second time around) to avoid this, and is ending up costing us extra (time, money, and stress) to correct. I hope that this review does not paint the business in a bad light, I'm sure Jeral is a competent plumber (our other 2 toilets work just fine), and he was nice and apologetic about this experience, but I hope this review provides an opportunity for reflection and improved service for future customers. -------------------------------------------------- 6 month update. The upstairs toilets are working no problem. The downstairs one started moving a little bit with pressure. I reached out to Jarel and he responded right away, was out in a couple of days and took the toilet off and we found that the outer ring of the flange broke at the bolt. He bought a repair ring and installed everything back within a week. Everything is working again and he didn't charge me a dime (I offered, he didn't take it). That's a sign of a good, honest person who stands behind their work. Thank you Jeral.

The unit was still under warranty, only two years old, so AOSmith decided to replace the unit with a new unit but installation was at our expense. I approved the installation at my expense. The new hybid hot water heater looks great and we're very happy with the installation of the new unit. Rainier, Chad and his assistant, did a wonderful job installing the new unit. It looks exactly like it did before the repair. It looks so nice you can't even tell it was ever replaced.
