A diamond in the rough! If I could give it 10 stars, I would. If you follow me, you know I do not…read morehand out many 5 star reviews, as there is always room for improvement (usually). Lumadue's is THE bar when it comes to quality service, food and atmosphere.
Keep in mind this was once a BBQ and Distillery joint, but the new owners have done a great job at making it feel like a quaint street, in Italy, type of dinner. Nothing too fancy, but still enjoyable.
The service was exceptional! We made a reservation 2 weeks ahead ( reservations are preferred) and were greeted at the door by 3 joyous ladies. They immediately sat us and we were greeted by our server a few moments later.
Our server was Theresa and she was very pleasant and knowledgeable about the menu. Also, very attentive during our entire stay. Neither of us had to ask for a thing and she would pop up with whatever it was. It was truly a refreshing experience.
Last but NOT least, the food! It was all spot on, authentically and freshly made. I come from an Italian family, and am familiar with a lot of the menu. We ordered Formaggio as our appetizer, baked perfectly. We then had about a 20 minute wait for our main course. Which was perfect and appreciated since we knew the meal is made to order, I believe this is also why reservations are preferred. I had the Chicken Parmesan per a recommendation and it tasted exactly like my own. If you cook, you know how you make that one meal that everyone loves, including yourself, but no one else knows how to make it, so if you crave it you have to slave away first just to enjoy it...yeah, not anymore! My husband ordered the Veal Giovanni, again cooked perfectly. He was SO pleased. We both enjoyed every bite, admittedly sharing with one another. Then Theresa brought us the dessert tray, and oh my Lanta, does it all look and sound delicious. All of these are also made in house, and you can tell. We had the Cassata and Parozza slices. You know when you put something so delectable in your mouth that you hesitate to swallow because it's just THAT good, so you savor it on your tongue for as long as possible...just me? Okay, well anyways, DO NOT skip dessert, you will regret it.
If you are in the surrounding area, make the reservation, take the drive and embrace the excellence of Lumadue's, for you will not find another establishment like it in the area. This restaurant should be a very welcomed addition to the community and I hope they continue to carry on their greatness for years to come.
