This place is absolutely gorgeous and the wine was fabulous! We we're fortunate enough to attend a yelp event and that's how I got the chance to try this little gem! We did the wine and chocolate pairing and it did not disappoint. Our wine expert was absolutely fantastic and she had a good sense of humor! Was very knowledgeable on the wine and also the chocolate which is from a local place here in Sonoma county! I absolutely recommend this place! It's small but the location is absolutely breathtaking and it's perfect for an outing with your significant other. I also absolutely love there decor inside! Very modern and super clean! This is a great place to get your hands on some of Catherine Hall's wines! Well, I'm not as big of a fan of the baca Zinfandel collection as I am the hall, Pinot and Cabernet, the Walt wines are absolutely amazing. The hall Merlot and cab are fantastic. The Craigs cab is probably the best bang for your buck. The Walt corners and Sierra Marr are some of the best Pinot I have ever had. read more

Tristen was super helpful. He told us in advance that, as members, we could bring picnic supplies and enjoy them before the tasting, so after our drive up from the Bay Area, we did just that. My recent experience at this place was so great! We are members of the WALT club, that features Pinot Noir's, and are able to taste at their sister winery, BACA who feature Zinfandels. Visiting Healdsburg is always a fun experience and has many awesome tasting rooms to explore. I really liked my experience here! Brendon and Peter were friendly and seemed to enjoy sharing their knowledge of the wines. I chose the flight that included some Pinot Noir and Zinfandel samples. I enjoyed all the tastes, and received a few extra samples when asking about a particular vineyard. After COVID I have found that the tasting rooms are charging more money for fewer tastes, but this was not my experience here. If you're in the area give them a visit, you may just join the club. What a joke! Went here with my wife and daughter to enjoy a bottle of wine and join their club. We had heard about how amazing this place and their wines were, along with their other sister brands. We were enjoying ourselves, until we ordered a bottle of wine. Then we were, very quickly and without hesitation, ushered out of the ambiance of the building and out into a dirt pasture in the back. We were told that "Unless you are here for a tasting", we had to sit out in the back 40 and look at vacant vineyards and blowing dust, alone, by ourselves. All the while, there was plenty of open and empty tables where we were sitting, including the table we were actually sat at initially. It was a very embarrassing situation. We arrived an hour before closing. Nobody even came in after our arrival. Their marketing and PR team should be ashamed and replaced. Growing up in wine country myself, I have never had an experience like this at any one of hundreds of wineries visited throughout my life. When we pressed for why we had to move, they stated that the structure of the winery is reserved only for those who wish to taste wines, and not those who wish to purchase a bottle. Greedy. Unprofessional. Not consistent with the rest of the industry. We will never return here, nor any of the other sisters. Bad form! read more

Josh was a great host during our tasting today, he gave us lots of information about each wine and a couple of side by sides allowed us to get a good comparison of similar styles. We had another memorable visit to BACA this week! I was planning a special few days in wine country to celebrate my husband's Birthday, and though we were staying in Calistoga, I wanted to make the trip to Healdsburg for a Chololate & Wine Pairing Experience. Zinfandel and Chocolate?!? AMAZING!!! So thoughtfully created, this tasting is one of the most unique - and most delightful we have enjoyed. Peter and the team at BACA go out of their way to make a lovely presentation in a beautiful tasting room. The staff are so knowledgeable about not only their wines, but about the history of Napa Valley winemaking. Great wine, terrific service, beautiful venue. . . We visited this location of Walt Baca on our recent trip to Sonoma and Napa. We had enjoyed our first tasting of the day and asked the sommelier at our first location if they had any suggestions of nearby locations where an appointment was not necessary and this was her top recommendation. It turned out to be a great one! This location is new on the Westside Road in Healdsburg. We arrived around noon. There was a couple at the bar and two staff members behind the bar. We asked to do a tasting and they gave us a choice of outside or at the bar. It was a lovely day so we chose outside. We had a spectacular view of the vineyard and there were only a few other tables seated outside. Our service was friendly and knowledgeable and the wine was great! The Walt wines focused on Pinot Noir and the Baca wines focused on Zinfandel. We had our choice of a Walt flight, a Baca flight, or a crossroads flight. I did the Walt flight. My friend did the Baca flight, and our third friend graciously drank water so as to serve as our DD. This worked out really well as we were essentially able to taste everything. Tastings were reasonably priced at $25 and $35. The standouts for me were the Gap's Crown Pinot Noir and the The Corners Pinot Noir and those are the bottles I left with. If you are on the Westside Road this is a great stop. As of current appointments are required, but as this is a relatively new location that may soon change. read more

We read about their new location and had to check it out. We did the tasting with a few wines from their 3 lines- the wines were quite lovely! Ana was our host and she was great. She offered us knowledge about the wines and a little input and ideas of what she preferred and why which offered us great insight on which wines we would like to bring home. They had a cute little outdoor area which would have been lovely for a glass of wine but they don't have a license where you can purchase a glass of wine or we would have stayed around a bit longer . This was one of our more expensive tastings overall as well as pricier wines but the fact that we had our own table and great service from Ana, we bought a few bottles home and left with a great experience. We are Hall Winery Members and were really happy to discover Baca as part of the collection. We actually love Baca so much we've visited this location more than Hall at this point. The building and location are beautiful and the hospitality is always exceptional. We love that you can sit outside on the patio in a gorgeous location with spectacular views of the vineyard without all of the pomp and circumstance (and tourists) associated with some of the larger wineries. It's also great that you can choose your adventure and either focus on Baca's Zinfandels or Walt's Pinot's. There's something for everyone and the team that works here are phenomenal. read more

So pleased to have a new tasting spot in Sonoma County for the Hall-Walt family of wines. While we like the intimate Walt facility in the town of Sonoma, this facility is chic without being over the top. The big tasting bar overlooks a huge class wall separating the inside from the outside patio. The patio has a great view of the vineyards with comfortable seating and many propane heaters to make it comfortable on a chilly day. They even brought out blankets as soon as we were seated! The service was spot on without being snooty and we really liked that they have flights that feature the whole family of wines. You can taste the BACA zins, Walt Chards and Pinots, and a flight mixing both with Hall Cabs. It was our first time trying the BACA zins and came away pleasantly pleased. Really enjoyed the Double Dutch from Dusi in Paso and the Tug O War (the zins are named after children's games). The tastings are $25 or $35 - not cheap but a nice experience and excellent wine. read more

6 of us visited the winery for a tasting yesterday. One of my friends has a membership there so the tasting was free. Sam and Courtney took really good care of us. It was 102 degrees on the patio and they kept making sure we had water and ice to keep us comfortable. My only wish was they had fans or a mister on. Courtney was very friendly and knowledgeable about the wines and gave us the story of how the winery came to be. We got a couple bonus tastings. I love Chardonnay and usually don't drink red wine but their Pinot Noir was light and smooth and I liked it. My friends were shocked I was drinking red wine. We all went home with bottles. Also love their small cans of Rose. I would go back there for sure. read more
