Chicken shawarma
Erica K.

I came with a large group and we were all really impressed with the live music (oldies) amazing food and ambience. The chicken kabobs were juicy and the saffron rice was the most flavorful version I've ever tried. Truth is, I wasn't even hungry when I went, I planned to box it up for the next day but it was soooo good I ate it all immediately;) so much for the diet;) we all said that we would like to come back- so that's the review of 6 people.

THIS IS A SOLID 3.5 STAR RESTAURANT. Which means it's a good restaurant. I just can't round up to a 4, because I didn't think it was a GREAT restaurant for ME. I felt food was pricy and quantity lacking. Unfortunately, this is not a restaurant where you order family style. More of a 1 dish per person place. Which is different than how other Mediterranean restaurants tend to do it. Which is fine, just not my preference. Here's what we got: Appetizers: - meza plate: solid appetizer with plenty of things. I particularly loved the Hummus. My wife and our friends really liked the muhammara. - Roasted cauliflower: pretty good. Liked the sauce that it came with. Entrees: - Chicken Shish Kebab($25): the server recommended this dish as their top seller. I don't believe him. This chicken was dry and nothing to ring home about. It was honestly something that I felt I could have at a local Turkish restaurant for $14. Would not recommended. - Kofta Kebab($29): pretty good. We liked this. Kebab was cooked well. - Apricot lamb couscous($37): A traditional dish that we all enjoyed. Slight sweet taste to it, but not overwhelming at all. Dessert: - Baklava Bowl($18): delicious. The fruit and ice cream really complemented the baklava. Would recommend. There's street parking around the restaurant, otherwise, a 3 story parking garage in the back.

Quaint, little Mediterranean spot & hookah lounge on the outside of west village! Their chicken kebab and shawarma are phenomenal. I also recommend the Mezza plate with all the apps and a bottle of wine to start! It's cozy and comfy in here and not typically too packed so you don't need a reservation. Great location and delicious food

Chef's Hummus from Baboush

Grabbed lunch here today. I cannot wait to go back for another meal. Not only was the service top notch, Mahmuod gave us A+ attention, the meal was great. The chef's Hummus was by far the best I have ever had. Crazy fresh ingredients and the portion was such a deal. We ordered the "beef cigars" and split an order of the beef shawarma dish. I highly recommend the beef shawarma. The beef was tender and perfectly medium rare. so flavorful. Drinks were never empty. Let's talk dessert. The baklava was simply amazing. We skipped the ice cream version and just went with the basic version. I will order an extra to take home the next time I visit. Thank you Baboush and Mahmuod for making this such an awesome experience. Highly recommend, will be back soon!

Baboush is a charming and inviting spot tucked away in the West Village area. During the day, the atmosphere is warm and earthy, with friendly and welcoming service. As evening approaches, the vibe becomes more romantic and cozy. We had the Mezza plate, which offered a variety of flavorful bites--each one better than the last. The lamb with couscous was another standout: tender, well-seasoned, and not too gamey (just the way I like it).

The best Mediterranean restaurant I've tried since I arrived in the USA. We tried several dishes and everything was exquisite. The Mezza plate lets you taste classic Mediterranean antipasto-style dishes, all delicious. For my main dish, I ordered a vegetarian plate based on couscous with roasted vegetables, which also had an incredible flavor. I highly recommend it.

I couldn't have asked for better service from Muhammed. He was excellent. Food was also incredible. We had: Lamb hummus - perfection. I didn't realize how much I liked lamb, it was perfectly seasoned Harissa and apricot wings - I loved the flavor, they weren't spicy at all. More sweet. Chefs kiss. Chicken kabobs - great flavors, chicken was very tender The ambiance is also really great. I loved the music and decor. Felt like I was transported somewhere in the Mediterranean region!

Baboush offers authentic Mediterranean food in the heart of uptown Dallas. Parking can be limited but they have some street parking and there is a parking garage nearby as well. The food was delicious they offer a full menu from appetizers, small plates, and main entrees. Some of the highlights were the hummus, flafael, and the lamb racks. They have some outdoor seating which we opted to do but they have a beautiful dining room area for you to enjoy as well. This is a great spot to get some delicious Mediterranean restaurant. I will be back again.

Baboush has been on my want to try list for quite a while and I was glad to finally try it. Inside, the atmosphere is small and cozy with live music when we went. We started off with drinks and the chef's hummus. The hummus was fantastic and I would recommend it. For drinks, we got the blackberry seduction and lebanese nights. I felt that the blackberry seduction was pretty good but the other one tasted pretty much like juice rather than well mixed cocktail. We then got the lamb rack and kofta kebabs. Both were well made and flavorful but I felt that there was not enough food/it wasn't good enough for the price you pay. I did throughly enjoy the rice that came with the kebabs. Overall, Baboush was a fun place that I am glad I tried but I didn't feel that the value was good enough for me to want to come back.

One of the top five meals of my life. So delicious, wish I could have eaten more but glad I got to take home leftovers. Very nice staff as well. Cool music and vibes.

It's hard to get lamb right, but this lamb was great! Service was attentive and kind and the ambiance is very cute; they offer hookah that I did not get to partake in. Inside is set up beautifully and you can tell a lot of effort was put into the detail. I have been to Morocco. This felt and tasted like the restaurants back in Marrakech. The only reason I did not give it a 5/5 was because some dishes will come garnished with nuts that don't usually have nuts, which made it so that I couldn't have it. I probably should have mentioned my allergy, but putting that menu items have nuts - even if it means it will just be garnished on top, goes a long way. I was able to remove the pine nuts on the lamb which made me happy, meaning they can accommodate food allergies. The menu isn't very extensive, as they become more popular I hope they can add to it. The food is prepared very well. Can't wait to come back and try the preserved lemon chicken.

I remember the gourmet Eatzi's phenomenon when the chain had a Houston location, which has been closed for almost 20 years. Although I've read Eatzi's may in fact return to Houston, I'll believe it when I see it. What I've always liked about Eatzi's is the high quality and variety of cuisine on offer. For some reason, this time I settled on hummus, but also saw lots of other cool choices, including sushi. Bread is baked in-house and lots of people seem to like the made to order sandwiches and prepared foods. Service here was really good, although I was a bit put off by the long line wrapped around the inside of the store. However, I was able to walk right past it to an easy checkout. Parking here, in my opinion, was easy. Overall, I really enjoyed my visit to this Eatzi's location in Dallas, and also hope Eatzi's returns to Houston one of these days.

They have a variety of foods and if you can't find something that you like, then you are probably just dead inside. I stopped in to grab some food for my flight out of Dallas. I had a veggie sandwich made to order, a piece of focaccia bread with tomatoes and cheese, and a piece of lemon blueberry pound cake. The sandwich turned out really nice with the type of bread I chose and a pesto sauce. The focaccia bread was good but would have been great toasted. The pound cake was alright but I would not get it again. There are many kinds of deserts all around inside to try. I just love going into Eatzi's to see what they have to offer!

It truly feels like you've stepped into a legit Italian market. It's packed--in a good way--but be prepared to rub elbows while you shop. If you don't have social anxiety, it's all part of the experience. We met another couple there for sandwiches, and they absolutely delivered. I had the Italian beef, which was delicious--but definitely spicy. I even asked for light peppers and it still brought some heat. So fair warning: if you're sensitive to spice, you might want to pivot to something else. My wife has been missing New Orleans, so she went with the muffaletta. Let's just say it was a much cheaper solution than flying her to the Big Easy. No gumbo on the menu, but the sandwich hit the spot. After we ate, we did a little shopping and grabbed some fresh Italian ingredients imported straight from Italy--which is always a win in my book. Great food, great vibe, and a true Dallas institution. We'll definitely be back.

Especially during peak hours (maybe about 11-2 on weekdays) definitely recommend trying to mobile order on the app. However, you MAY need to still either wait in line to get ur order or have to line cut to the register and either get told off or dirty looks from the ppl in line. Like many other businesses, most PB locations no longer let u pick up ur order from the mobile order shelves due to homeless people stealing them. Definitely worth a try if u need a fast and reasonably healthy lunch and are in the area or you want a cheaper and casual dinner option compared to the many upscale restaurants in the area. The bacon had really good flavor, and the veggies were fresh and crisp. Since I ordered the "skinny" version, it came on a thinner roll instead of the usual thick bread, which I actually preferred. I ordered two sandwiches through the DoorDash app for pickup. The app clearly stated that the sandwiches came with chips and potato salad, which is why I chose that option instead of ordering a different special. When I arrived at the restaurant, I still had to wait in line before reaching the cashier. When I finally got to the counter, she handed me my sandwiches and then told me that I had ordered chips and potato salad but had not paid for them. I calmly explained that the app showed those items as included with the sandwich. Instead of resolving the situation professionally, she told me she needed to call the owner. She then had me step aside while she helped three other customers, leaving me waiting awkwardly off to the side. When the owner finally called her back, she spoke to him loudly (almost argumentatively) about me being there and "claiming" the sandwiches came with chips and potato salad. It was embarrassing because other customers could clearly hear what was happening. Ultimately, I was told the owner said the sandwiches did not come with those sides. At that point, I just took my sandwiches and left. The entire situation felt uncomfortable and unnecessary. If there was a mix-up with the app, that isn't the customer's fault. Good customer service would have been to honor what was displayed in the app and clarify the issue internally afterward. Instead, I left feeling frustrated and embarrassed. Unfortunately, this was one of the worst restaurant experiences I've had.
