I've dined at 3 or 4 Babbos over the past 15-20 years. I've always liked the food and recommend them to friends. But this past Friday my wife and I wanted to take our two grandchildren out for lunch while they were on Xmas break. They are 10&12 years old. One is a very fussy eater and will only eat McDonalds chicken nuggets so we bought a bag of chicken nuggets and went to Babbos to have the three of us have lunch. The manager stopped us at the check-in counter and wouldn't let us in. Said it was their policy. I pleaded with her to make an exception but she stood pat. She had a rule and damn well was going to stick to it. Said the food we were bringing in may contaminate the restaurant. I will never dine there again. I used to be a vendor and knew the owner before he passed away. He would be rolling in his grave if he knew how one of his restaurants was being managed. BTW, I rarely post bad reviews. read more

Fantastic atmosphere and energy here. Service was really great and servers/host team treated our big group well. Appetizers were all really good solid and would recommend the artichoke, spinach, and crab dip the best. Who can beat a $6 happy hour sangria? Great happy hour prices for drinks. And the pastas were all extremely tasty. I'll give a shoutout to the gnocchi trio which was my absolute favorite. Sometimes one of the sauces in the trio you could do without, but not on this dish. Again - never been there before, never used a card or a check, or anything to identify myself. BE ADVISED.... We went to Babbo's last night around 5. We like sitting at the bar as there were open seats. The bartender Emily ignored us for around 10 min. Finally got our drinks ordered. We asked for water as well. It took us 3 times asking for water, before we finally got it. Didn't get any bread for around 30 minutes. At this point, it seemed as we were an inconvenience to her. She seemed very unhappy and got the feeling she really didn't care. Ordered food, which is always great! Had to wait another 10-15 minutes to finally get another drink ordered. We have been to this place many times over last few years. Never experienced this poor of service. What we thought would be a fun dinner turned out pretty disappointing. The person serving you is the face of your restaurant. Should be upbeat, friendly and accommodating. If not, put her in back somewhere. Won't be back to this location. read more

I was excited to go in and check this place out as it just got remodeled and it was my first overall experience. I wasn't overly impressed. The bread basket with the olive oil was absolutely fantastic. However, I could've ate that all night. My entrée was just average and everyone else's I thought was just OK. I love Babbo's! I'm a creature of habit so when I find something I like at a restaurant it becomes "my usual". My usual at Babbo's is the Chopped Gorgonzola salad and a glass of Sauvignon Blanc. This salad is so good! It's very large but I will normally eat the whole thing if I'm really hungry. You can also order a half salad, which is still a good size portion. The service is always good and friendly. They serve sliced French bread with olive oil to dip it in. So delicious! You can also place an order and pick it up. This is a family friendly place, great for a date night or you can just stop in and sit at the bar. I've dined there by myself many times when I'm craving this salad! read more

This is a review specifically for our salad pickup experience from here. We ordered a brussels sprout salad, Caesar salad, and salmon mixed greens salad. I absolutely loved the brussels sprout salad because of its crunch and the perfect flavor combination with goat cheese. The sides of bread with a mixed balsamic and oil for dipping were ideal. Portions are bigger than it seems from the container. I ate about half of my salad and finished the rest later that day! Ordering online was seamless. Everything was ready on time. Well, a very strange experience.... Food was average, not bad. But.... The staff, waiters, management, bartender.... Are seemingly from the twilight zone..... my wife and I were in disbelief from the lack of service we received. The owner should really be aware of the awful energy the staff puts off. My wife said she never wants to go back. Just a very weird and unpleasant environment. When we walked in, we weren't greeted, waited for about 3 minutes, no one said a word. So we seated ourselves at the nearest table. A staff member came over and said, this table is reserved, let us find you one. So we said ok no problem. We sat at our table for about 8 minutes while 4-5 members of the staff just walked past us without acknowledging our presence. So I got up and asked if someone was going to help us. She said. Oh.... Andrew just ran out to his car to get his apron. Ok lol...finally we did get to order. Andrew was a nice kid, but the weirdness of the rest of the place, including the manager, he walked past our table and turned around and looked at me and turned away. We have always loved Babbos and it was our go to choice to celebrate our anniversary. We were seated rather quickly (2 pm) on a weekday - it was NOT busy. We requested and were provided a few samples of wine which we ended up ordering a bottle of, and asked for water. It took some time for us to be acknowledged to order our food but we were enjoying ourselves so didn't think much of it. We ordered the garlic chicken and the chicken mushroom and asparagus which was fantastic. The disappointment came rather quickly while we sat for an hour and half without ANY acknowledgment whatsoever. We had our water glasses sitting at the edge of the table and could not get anyone's attention. One glass of water the entire dinner - 1.5 hours. There was an older couple sitting at the bar who was also attempting to get someone's attention to pay their bill but kept getting ignored. My husband finally got up and went to the bar and asked "can we get some to go boxes" - he was answered with a shrewd "yeah" as if we were bothering her by asking. She brought the boxes over after about 5 minutes and I asked if she was the manager which she stated she was. I explained to her that we were here for our anniversary and we were quite disappointed in the service and that for the last hour and a half we were trying to make eye contact for someone to even acknowledge us and refill our waters. No apology, no happy anniversary, nothing but a rude gesture and taking back our bottle of wine to seal it. She went back to the kitchen and was commenting to the kitchen staff as they all looked our way. She came back with a discounted bill however again, never apologized once nor was she even pleasant. She asked me, "do you still want your water? ". Well yes I do thank you because I have been only waiting for an hour and ate without any. She had someone else bring the water and did not acknowledge us further. The attitude and rudeness we received from a manager of a "nice place" where we were dropping $ at... was absolutely unacceptable and it's caused us to decide we will find a new place to go to celebrate special occasions and definitely won't be returning or recommending Babbos any more. Sadly our family, friends and coworkers have all asked us what we did to celebrate and we shared our disappointing afternoon at Babbos that centered only around the service and rudeness of the manager. You may want to reconsider who you allow to be the face of your restaurant. Hats off to the chef and kitchen staff as the food is amazing but bad service outweighs the food when it ruins your entire experience. read more

We are frequent dinners, but our visit today fell far short of the usual. Our waitress ignored our table, to the point where her colleagues noticed and actually brought our drinks and food. Had eaten at another Babbo, but this is the one in Goodyear. Visited with son and girlfriend. It happened to be Tuesday so she chose the Meatball special for only $6.99. I had the lunch special of a salad and a 8 inch pizza, my son had the lasagna. Started with bread with a dish of vinager and oil, this was tasty and a good way to start. Food arrived rather quickly, see pictures enclosed. I will start with my dish...the pizza was very greasy, which made the crust mushy. A bit much cheese made it a bit of a mess. Overall, I would give the pizza a 5/10. The Meatball and spaghetti was very good, she loved the meatballs. The lasagna was also very good and both of these dishes were completed happily. Also, the salads were also good. Overall a good place, especially the Tuesdays special. Have to take off some for the poor quaility of the pizza. read more

Stopped in on a weeknight for dinner. There was about a 15 minute wait to be seated which isn't bad. The place was clean, food was okay but the service was lacking. It took a good 10 minutes to have our drink order taken and then another good chunk of time for our food order. I just realized you are supposed to get bread which we never did lol We got a stuffed portobello and spaghetti and meatballs. The food was okay but definitely not authentic. We arrived on a Monday to celebrate our seventh anniversary. The restaurant was not busy. After being seated, we waited 10 minutes before our server, Kaleb, approached and asked if we were ready to order. There was no greeting. It felt transactional. We ordered two waters, a Coke, one alcoholic drink, and appetizers. About 13 minutes later, the waters and Coke arrived. The alcoholic drink did not. About a minute later, the appetizers arrived, and they were nearly spilled. While placing the food, Kaleb leaned extremely close into my personal space instead of setting items in the center of the table. This happened more than once and was uncomfortable. About 15 minutes later, Kaleb asked if everything was okay. I told him it was pretty horrible and explained my wife was still waiting for her drink. I also stated this was our anniversary and the service quality was very poor. He did not apologize. He stood there awkwardly, clearly realizing something was wrong. He said he would check to see if anything was done for anniversaries. We said okay, with no expectation of anything extra. We were fully prepared to pay and tip well. He returned and said they only do something for birthdays. We let it go, but it raises the question of why customers are asked if they are celebrating during the reservation process if nothing is acknowledged. Throughout the evening, Kaleb attended nearby tables far more often than ours. As the only visibly diverse couple in the area, it felt like a microaggression. On an anniversary night, it is easy to notice where attention is going. We paid for our appetizers and drinks and left disappointed. I highly doubt management will read this, but the experience warranted a review. I encourage management to review the footage and just pay attention to Kaleb and you will see what we experienced. read more

Babbo's is awesome again!!!! They made fantastic changes. The renovation is really great. Most importantly the service was great again! Packed on a Saturday night but got in and seated fairly quickly. The manager Michela knew of our less than stellar experience 6 months ago and was so welcoming and generous and wanted to renew our love for Babbo's in every way and she surpassed expectations. Our server gavin was awesome as well. The dishes were even better than I remember. Great White Buffalo never disappoints and the spicy italian sausage with penne delicious, not for wimps...it's spicy! The fresh made bread with olive oil/balsamic was fresh and warm and so freaking good! Huge fan again - thank you Michela...you rock! read more

So, I rarely write reviews - but after the phenomenal service I received from the Babbo's restaurant on 67th Ave, I feel compelled to share my experience. I ordered delivery and Uber eats screwed up my order. I called the restaurant, and the hostess quickly put me through to the manager. The manager explained how Uber Eats submits the tickets, yet the one they received was incomplete. I asked if there was anyone who could deliver my food and instead of turning me down, he asked another team member to jump in their car and deliver the correct order to me. Not only did they replace the missing items, they refilled the entire order. The manager told me he wanted to do this so that my food wasn't cold upon my receipt of it. As I stated I rarely write reviews simply because so many establishments (and their personnel) have set such low standards, I've come to the realization that disappointment is the new norm in customer service and satisfaction. Not with this manager! Everyone makes mistakes in business - but how one corrects those mistakes is what turns average into great! My food was delivered as promised and the man who delivered it was pleasant. The food itself was hot and tasty as promised. I will continue to order from Babbo's for this experience alone. Great job in turning a negative into a positive. It wasn't fully Babbo's fault for the mix up, yet they took ownership (whether it was theirs or not) and rectified the issue to my complete satisfaction. I only wish others would take a lesson from this manager in customer service. Well done sir - well done!!! read more

We had a party 6 ladies on Wednesday Nov. and the food was good for all of us. The patio seating was ok the tables had slots in them and a couple of the ladies their forks slipped through to the ground, would be better with solid table top. I have never eaten at Babbo and thanks to my experience today I likely never will. I'm a DoorDasher, my job is to partner with local restaurants to deliver their food in a timely and quality manner. Generally restaurant staff honors this and is quick to help when I arrive at stores even if I am in the wrong spot. Today I picked up an order around 4pm. The front of the restaurant was not busy. I didn't catch the hostess's name, but I approached as I usually do when I have a pick up. She did not greet me when I walked in. I kindly stated that I was there to pick up a DoorDash order. She gave me the nastiest tone and said "I'm not doing pick up orders now am I? I'm a hostess." (With a sarcastic giggle)The tone was demeaning and condescending . She then rudely pointed around her shoulder to a take out counter I was not aware of because once again I had never been to this location. I have worked in food service when I was in college. A host is supposed to set the tone for your dinning experience. I would hope that this hostess is not a reflection of the rest of the staff or management's standards. read more

I had such a fantastic experience at Babbo Italian Eatery, and I have to give a huge shoutout to Misty for making it truly memorable. From the moment we sat down, she was warm, attentive, and genuinely welcoming. She knew the menu inside and out, made great recommendations (the Chicken Pesto was amazing!), and her timing was absolutely perfect throughout the meal. Misty went above and beyond to make sure everything was just right. You can tell she really cares about her guests and takes pride in her work. If you've ever wondered if you can find fine dining and a classy restaurant in a strip mall....the answer is yes and this is the place. Located right near Safeway I was not expecting to open the door and see dim lights cozy chairs and swanky waiters. The smell of fresh made pasta and all the bread made my stomach growl as soon as I entered. I ordered the steak salad and my friend ordered a basic pasta. We filled ourselves and made herself sick on the focaccia bread and oil and to be honest I would've been happy just eating that for my meal. The salad was not your basic salad. Every ingredient tasted fresh and the steak was so soft I almost asked for just a side of it. My friends pasta was better than any that she's ever had and she made herself sick finishing a whole bowl. Totally worth it read more
