Sadly, the teas were not satisfactory. I ordered the original milk tea - I always order this at boba places I haven't been to before as the barometer of quality. There wasn't very good tea flavor. It almost tasted like a powdered milk tea mix. I was also excited that they sold items from Kokoroya Bakery. This bakery had been on my list to try. I was there on the 25th and one of the items I got (matcha red bean bun) had a best by date of the 23rd. I guess I wouldn't expect a past best by item to be sold. Don't miss this little boba and snack shop tucked town an alley in downtown Wheaton. We went to try the Japanese cheesecake and Basque cheesecake; the Japanese cheesecake was already sold out for the day, but we got the Basque as well as a mochi cat paw waffle (like a taiyaki, but shaped like a cat paw rather than a fish). The cheesecake was delicious: dense and not overly sweet. The waffle was also good, just slightly chewy with a green pandan custard filling. The staff were very friendly and told us all about the different drinks on the menu, but we just went with water because I had already had my allotment of caffeine for the day. Cute decor including paintings from local artists for purchase and giant bubble teas! It was a bit warm inside but there's also outdoor seating if you would prefer that. I came across BaBam on social media and decided to check it out when we were in town. We almost missed it since it is tucked away in an alleyway. The shop is small and there are a handful of tables inside. There were only a select few pastries in the case when we came. We shared the pandan custard buns and basque cheesecake. I had the jasmine milk tea and asked for no sugar but it ended up tasting really diluted. The pandan buns were good but didn't find the basque cheesecake unique. read more

This is one of the newer ones there. It's about $6 for a tea, and it's a pretty big cup. They have a few non dairy choices including coconut milk tea. Add toppings for another buck. There's boba and a few jellies. Has a few bags of chips and other Asian snacks, but there's not much else. There's the baked bread good for taking home for later. Has a pretty good amount of teas for a small local business. It's what's on most of the menu. They also have fresh bread at pretty okay prices. read more

Best place to park would be the Chase parking lot, if not there are plenty of free parking spaces scattered around. Inside has very appealing areas that are perfect for snapping pictures for Instagram. Prices are reasonable. They have a variety of drinks and snacks. Overall, I would rate this place 4.5/5. I took off half a point because I forgot to tell the owner that I wanted light ice and 50% sugar. If you don't say anything then it'll be 100% sugar, too sweet. I got the pink bubblegum with green apple popping boba, taro milk tea with coffee jelly, pandan rolls, and sweet potato swirl bread. Drinks were tasty despite the abundance of sugar. Boba fanatic here. I was looking for a cafe and almost went somewhere else but I wasn't going to pass up an opportunity to check a boba place out. I love a local spot with a cool vibe that you kind of just have to know about to know about it. The local art on the wall for sale, the open-to-outside concept, and the delicious fruit teas makes this an absolute requirement for a stop in Wheaton. I went during Cream of Wheaton and everywhere downtown was pretty busy including BaBam, but they did a great job of moving the line quickly and cranking out the good stuff. I got a watermelon fruit tea with strawberry boba... highly recommend. Their fruit teas use a jasmine tea but I saw a sign saying you could request other teas if jasmine isn't your jam. When I ordered they even let me know how many drinks were ahead of me, but honestly they worked so fast it was only a couple of minutes. I'm a fan for sure. read more

Co-worker and I made a planned trip here during our lunch hour! We were excited to see a bubble tea/Japanese cafe in this area. It's a soft opening so items may be limited but there were plenty of drink options ( or ) And a few bakery goods you can try! Definitely plan to come back and try the other drinks. Despite it being a little creepy at first (it is in an alley), I love everything about this place. From the personalized and patient service to the tea itself, this little joint is a must-stop if you're in the area. My advice is that you stop by here at a slow part of the day... maybe a weekday between lunch and dinner, so that you can ask a lot of questions and get some great suggestions. This is NOT a place you order from online as your first experience... you'd miss out on what it has to offer. What's unique about this place is the options you have for your tea, from different leaves, to different style boba and add-ins. There's milk tea and smoothies and fruit teas and so much more! My daughter got a fruity lemonade mix and I think it had lavender infused, so it tasted like fresh flowers in your mouth! I don't remember what milk tea my wife ordered, but she enjoyed it and it was gone quickly. We're not down in this area very often, but next time, we're definitely stopping in. read more

I've had way better around this area. This boba tea is nothing special. The taste is bland. The experience coming here was not the best either with the rude and sassy cashier. I had much higher expectations for this shop. I had been recommended this place, and I generally quite like boba and their selection seemed great. I got the rose and lychee fruit tea and it was one of the worst I've ever had. The tapioca was good, but the tea itself tasted nothing like rose and barely like lychee. It tasted like low quality, over steeped green tea. It was horribly bitter and the only reason I didn't immediately throw it out was because I paid over $7 for it. I gave this place a try because I wanted to support a small business, but there are some things they can improve upon to compete with the bigger bubble tea shops. It was a bit overpriced to get the add ins, as they're all a dollar (compared to 50 cents to a dollar at other places, depending on what it is). My tapioca pearls were too chewy and congealed on top of that. Also, they must just use a base for all drinks since they don't offer sweetness levels. Then I asked for no ice (another option usually offered) and the cashier looked at me like I was crazy. He then made my drink with ice and said "Oops, I forgot." The overall drink experience was underwhelming. There are plenty of other better bubble tea spots nearby to return here. The only positive is that they have Asian baked goods that looked delicious.
