This place seems changed. I used to order birthday cakes here a few years ago and they turned out great. The pricing was not bad either. I went in last week and see if I could order 30 birthday cupcakes with simple decoration which are just topped with pretzels and goldfish crackers for fishing theme birthday. They want $105 for 30 cupcakes and also they want me to provide the pretzels and goldfish crackers! Really?! I also wanted to order a small 6" cake with a fondant character (fishier man on a boat) for the birthday man - they want $65 for that (she said the fondant piece is $20 by itself) So the total for a small 6" cake and 30 cupcakes would've been $170 -- ahhh no thanks!!!! read more

After having done all of our families cakes here for 7+ years sadly we won't be coming back. Nor will our family or friends. You don't call your customers to argue with them about prices after there cake has been paid for. The manager/owner called us back to argue about cake decor and the stress they have to go thru to purchase decor , they went from saying their cake flowers were 19.95 to saying they do us a favor in only charging $10 In what world does that even make sense that they're losing out on money after purchasing it. They got SO upset I didn't wanna hear them break down prices on a cake I've already paid for. I told her I was writting a review on how I was treated over the phone and she got more mad and decided I was no longer able to purchase a cake. These new younger girls working at places have no right to get an attitude and talk to people this way. Happy I found a new cake shop called sweets and elegance to take care of my future events. Bakerwee lost my business for good including friends and family ! Do not order cake from here!!! read more

Taste of most things is great, avoid the cannolis they were soggy and gross but the butter cookie are good and not too dry. Every time I go in their cases look rather empty which means they are most likely selling a lot of their stuff but it looks rather unappealing. They are overpriced on a lot of things so keep that in mind and if I were you I would make sure to be helped by a manager and not in of the high school girls who had repeatedly messed up on my change. read more

Great brownies.....awesome muffins.....good coffee.....friendly service. The muffins are 2.25 and everything else is under 2 bucks for a single serving.....including the coffee which has free refills. It is definitely worth the drive even if it is out of your way.....because even the cakes they make there are affordable. The day we visited someone ordered a sponge bob cake.....and 50th birthday cake shaped like a castle....and someone even ordered a lavish wedding cake....and none were over 60 bucks....that is an awesome price. Now I know you can get cake cheaper at a local grocery store....costco....and sam's club...but they won't make these types of cakes and they won't be as good. So if you looking for something sweet to satisfy that sweet tooth head down to Baker Weeeeeee.....Eat, Drink and be Merrrrryyyyyy....my Friends!!!! read more

I've never been here, but my coworkers keep bringing this stuff into the office. It's great stuff! The cookies aren't too soft or too hard, and packed with flavor. The brownies...oh my, they're the best brownies I've ever had! They're so dense and full of cocoa, and the frosting on top augments the flavor without adding too much sugar. And that's what I like about this place the most...I love baked goods, but a lot of them are too sweet for my taste. Lora at Baker Wee made my dream wedding cake; I provided her with a picture and she created an exact replica. Words cannot express how excited I STILL feel about my incredible cake, and how grateful I am for Lora's dedication to perfection in appearance and taste (my gluten-free Aunt ate TWO pieces of it, not because it was gluten-free but because it was that delicious!). While it's hard for me to stop raving about the cake that took my breath away, I must say the personalized service and attention I received from Lora and her staff at Baker Wee was just as amazing. I am so grateful that this small, locally owned and operated bakery was available to provide my wedding cake. They even went the extra mile and delivered the cake to my caterer the early morning of my wedding. And if all this perfection were not enough, it was *incredibly* affordable too. So upset with the cake I just received from this bakery! Not only did I have to provide my own flowers to them for the top, the colors of this cake were nothing like the photo I sent. I wanted a naked pale pink drizzled cake and what I got was ORANGE!! Even after I mentioned it was not the right color, the response I got was "well I think it looks great". And she sent me on my way. Not sure how I'm going to fit this in with a rose gold theme. As it's my daughter's birthday today, I have no time to find another baker. Do not put your trust in this bakery. Even with the photo they could not get it right! UPDATE: I called and spoke to the "Manager" and she had the nerve to argue that the photo I sent was orange. Clearly by the photo provided (see below of what I wanted) it was not. She asked me to email pictures of the original photo and the cake that I received. She never called back... read more

This is such a great bakery! I purchased a King's Cake for a Mardi Gras party and it was awesome. They were also able to make the cake for me with less than a 48 hr notice. How amazing is that!?! Take a look at the pic I took of it and posted it to the business site on yelp. It was super cute. And not to mention so tasty. They also have a great selection of muffins, donuts, and cookies. And don't leave without trying one of their macaroons! They are orgasmic!!! What's not to love about the Baker Wee? I agree, nothing! read more

L E G I T . Legit is my own personal designation for a business that does thing the right, most perfect way. Baker Wee is completely and totally one of these places. My sister-in-law first introduced me to their delicious wares... The cake I first tasted had to be a few days old by the time it got to me, and it was still fantastic. Then my nephew requested his birthday came be from Baker Wee, but we were gonna be outta town... Finally, my wife requested something tasty from Baker Wee for her birthday, and I was in charge of ordering it so I got to experience the FULL EFFECT. Baker Wee is an old-school bakery, but they utilize new school techniques as well. For example, for my wife's Friday Night Lights birthday cake could have had goal posts made of fondant, but instead they used the tried and true pipe cleaner route, which made it that much better, and nostalgic. They have these binders that serve as their portfolio that are chock full of all the awesome stuff they've made through the years. The staff is beyond courteous and super helpful, and they know which of their employees to assign to your project with their respective, particular expertise. When we walked up to the refrigerator case my wife's eyes teared up; she was so happy! The cake (double chocolate with whipped frosting, made up to look like a football field, with "Clear Eyes, Full Hearts, Can't Lose" on the base) was PHENOMENAL. it was so fresh and moist, sweet but not overpowering. Definitely some of the best cake I've ever had the pleasure of tasting. Plus, it was HUGE, like a 3 layer block of cake that would serve 35 people, and it was under $50! It's 5 days since the party and we are still chiseling away at the leftovers... it's gonna be real sad to have to throw it out. If you need a cake made for a special occasion, or just want some delicious brownies, or cookies, or even donuts then you simply MUST check this place out. read more

This is by far my favorite place... this bakery has been around for 18yrs... A lot has changed with this bakery... I miss their doughnuts and warm bread and lunch time boarshead lunch meat sandwhiches... Buttt the cakes, cookies, eclaires, dream cakes, macaroons, black and white cookies, the slices of cake the mini carrot cakes and brownies... yummmm. Visited this local bakery on a whim. The bakery advertises that it's been ranked top ten bakeries in the Valley and having been around for over 20 years we were excited to taste their goods. The staff was super helpful and friendly. One woman in particular was evidently passionate about her baking, and we really admired her enthusiasm for the craft. We ended up tasting a few items, sugar cookies with fudge in the center, a chocolate cake with baked in walnuts and caramel and topped with fudge, and a pineapple upside down cake. Hands down, they do chocolate right, and we're so glad we snatched the last chocolate cake! The sugar cookies were good with the fudge, but the regular one is lacking without, and the pineapple upside down cake was okay. If you visit, highly recommend that you pick a chocolate item! read more

My daughters and I walked into Baker Wee after we just picked up a disaster of my daughters wedding cake from someone else. It was 1230pm they close at 2. I told them we have a disaster and my daughter is getting married today.. they put together the most delicious cake in an hour for us. Where have you been all my life? For the pastry snob that is used to delicacy type pastries, French and european, this place doesn't disappoint. From Eclairs and French horns, macaroons to cupcakes, I will never eat pastries from anywhere else again. And need a custom cake? They do that too; and better than any others I've ever seen. I cannot tell you how unbelievable Sad it makes me to only give this bakery one star. I have been a customer of this business for over 17 years and they have done every birthday cake I've ordered during that time. Unfortunately, the service was so bad when I ordered my son's first birthday cake on July 1 I can no longer patronize Baker Wee. I was completely stunned by this. I asked a friend of mine who was also a customer is she had had any issues and she told me the business Had recently been sold to a new owner and the new owner let go of all the existing staff. Guess that explains why the service was so bad and the quality was not as good. I spoke with someone three times over the phone and even came into the store to discuss the design etc. The final cake was nowhere near what I asked for. We had to wait an additional hour for them to fix the design and it still wasn't right. Made our whole party late. Then they didn't even give us the smash cake which just ruined the whole first birthday experience. Then to add insult to injury they charged me $15 more for the cake than I usually pay AND I had to buy the deco pack. So disappointed. Now I'm in the lurch trying to find a new bakery for my son and daughter's party. read more

UPDATE! Another fabulous cake was produced from the talented bakers at Baker Wee! Couldn't be happier with the design and taste. Fantastic - white amaretto with white chocolate mousse! I've been coming to order special birthday cakes for years. I ordered 2 cakes for my sons first birthday. One for his actual birthday and one for his party. The one for his birthday was okay, mediocre at best. I was fine with it, no one was going to see it. I went to pick up his second cake for his party and I was shocked. It looked like I had made it myself, I don't bake. Beyond upset, they charged an additional $30 for the "decoration". When I ordered it I was fine paying the additional $30. I understand they I have to pay for their work. But my goodness if I'm going to pay additional money I want it to look like a professional made it. Wanted to buy from a local bakery instead of buying some cupcakes at the grocery store. I picked out 2 regular cupcakes and 2 jumbo ones. The jumbo ones had cute designs and the service was great but the cupcakes were some of the worst I've ever had. Some of the cupcakes were hard and very dry. It tasted days old. I called to order a kings cake with a baby in it and picked it up the following day. We realize that night that there was no baby in it. I called to express my disappointment and all I was told was there was a lack of communication. I specifically asked if they make cakes with babies in them and I was told yes. Somebody at the bakery obviously screwed it up and they will not admit it nor will they make any compensation for it horrific customer service and the cake was just average tasting anyway read more

Have been going to Baker Wee for nearly two decades; getting cakes for family events etc. They used to put a lot of effort into them; the grandkids cakes were truly works of art and tasted great. The current owners don't have that philosophy; sheet cakes look like sheet cakes with the ugliest sugar paper printed designs. The cakes taste run of the mill but expect to pay premium prices anyway. They've lost me as a customer. read more

There is a nice variety of sweet treats, and the service provided by the team inside the truck was stellar. One of our student organizations was hosting The Scookie Bar, and after walking around their event, you could score a ticket for a complimentary Scookie. As we pre-ordered so many as incentives for our students, I thought I'd give it a try. Unfortunately, something wasn't set up properly so we didn't have the cookies themselves, but we did have sundaes. We had six options to decide between. I went with The Standard consisting of vanilla ice cream, chocolate chips, and chocolate sauce, and on a normal day, there would have bene a chocolate chip cookie, too. The other five options included the Chocolate Lover, The Celebration, The Signature, Reese's Lover, and The VNA. While I enjoyed the sundae, I'm sure it would have been even better with the cookie included. The Scookie Bar is "where the scoop met the cookie" and serves freshly baked, warm deep-dish skillet cookies also known as scookies. They have a location at The Churchill in Downtown Phoenix, though I would assume I would more regularly see them when their food truck stops by ASU. Their Churchill location is closed on Monday but open Tuesday through Friday from 5-10 PM and Saturday and Sunday from Noon to 10 PM. If you want to order catering, it includes 2 hours of service and a 100 scookie minimum. They can provide a Build Your Own Menu where guests can choose the cookie, ice cream, and toppings, or they can choose from the Signature Scookie Menu which is what ASU did. They have been operating since 2016 in Phoenix. Now that I realize that I was missing the chocolate chip cookie, I need to try it again with that included! While I was still in NYC with my family on XMas eve eve, it hit me... I need to bring something besides wine everytime I go to their home. Nor a Southern dish. I wanted something unapologetically New Yaek. And what's more New Yawk than a box of classic Italian cookies? After asking a few Yelp friends where to find the best Italian cookies in Phoenix, The Sicilian Baker kept coming up. I called them last minute on Christmas Eve eve, having never been there before, totally sight unseen. First of all, their voicemail is hilarious. Truly. If you do nothing else, call just to hear it. It will instantly make you want to order something. Once I reached a real person, I explained my situation, that I wouldn't be able to come in beforehand, I needed a beautiful cookie tray for about 14-16 people, and I had a few must have preferences. Without hesitation, they said, "We got you." I was assured it would be ready when I landed on Xmas eve. Sure enough, after my partner picked me up from the airport, we headed straight to The Sicilian Baker. Parking right out front, a huge plus. As soon as you pull in, you're greeted with Frank Sinatra playing, not just inside, but even in the parking lot. It sets the tone immediately. We walked in, gave my name, and within minutes a lovely young person brought out my tray. Ten minutes later, we were on our way. Easy. Efficient. Warm service that made me actually grab a small box of cookies to drop my besties home on the way outta there. I didn't even realize at first that there's a sit down restaurant next door where you can relax and enjoy something. Great to know for next time ;) . Now, let's talk about the cookies. Yes, they are on the pricier side, but every single dollar was worth it. The tray was robust. Classic Italian pastries across the board like lobster tails, tri-colored almond cakes, cannolis, and all the favorites you hope for when you're trying to impress a room full of potential inlaws. And impress it did. The moment I walked in with that tray, it was a hit. People were already claiming which pastries they wanted, plotting what they'd take home, and hovering before dinner was even finished. There was more than enough for 16 people, grand is the only word for it, which is my style 1,000%. To this day, they're still talking about those cookies which makes me phenomenally proud (and humbled). I say this in all my reviews, "I hate almost everything. I'm discerning. I'm critical. And when something truly represents what I stand for - quality, authenticity, and heart, I will shout it from the rooftops". The Sicilian Baker delivered New York level excellence in Phoenix! Do not walk, runswiftly to this place if you need a gift, a show stopping dessert, or simply want to treat yourself. I cannot wait to go back. Highly, highly recommended.

It lowkey turns into a mission because once you've tried one flavor, you kinda want to work your way through all of them anyway. Now...the downside. The customer service just isn't great. It's not aggressive or anything, just noticeably lacking. There's not much warmth or engagement--it feels pretty transactional. For a place that clearly puts effort into their product, you'd expect at least a baseline level of hospitality, and it's just not really there. So overall, if you're going to Banhams, go for the cheesecake. The rotating flavors keep it fresh, the quality is legit, and it's definitely worth trying. Just don't expect much from the service side, and you'll enjoy it a lot more.
