He said he was a little worried the jalapeño onion would be too much, but it was well balanced. Husband got the smoking gun whiskey drink, which was good, but the presentation? Just great! A little too much barbecue sauce that kind of overwhelmed the taste of the burger, but otherwise I thought the burger was cooked very well, and I liked the crispy onions. Fries were very good. Overall, I would order this again, but would ask for light bbq sauce. Here's what my friends ordered: brisket grilled cheese: 1 star, she said there was no cheese Brisket Mac n cheese: 3.5 stars Mushroom burger: 3.5, okay burger but points for gluten free bun option and good fries. Others enjoyed the Mac n cheese, but consensus was mixed on the brisket. I think it's a little overpriced for what it is, but if you're craving a burger, it's a good spot to try out. read more

Sunday, noontime. They offered brunch and lunch menu. The restaurant wasn't too busy. Our server always had a smile on her face. We ordered a coffee and for lunch a Three Wiseman burger (it comes with french fries) and the buffalo brussels sprouts appetizer to share... 45 minutes later we got a burger without fries, subbed with a small side portion of Brussels sprouts instead for a full size appetizer. After I asked if the burger came with fries, she was very kind to offer to bring, a small side of fries, 15 minutes later. Unfortunately we were charged for the burger, a sub charge for the veggies, and another charge for the side of fries (that was supposed to be included with the burger). The food and the coffee were just fine. The service was too slow. I don't understand where the misunderstanding happened but I didn't get what I ordered. read more

Sitting in my hotel feeling hungry and wanting a drink. Got online and read the reviews for this place and decided to try it. It did not disappoint. I was surprised at how few people were there on a Saturday night but it certainly wasn't a reflection on the food or service. I sat at the bar and was waited on immediately. The Bourbon Burger was done perfectly as were the fries. I enjoyed the cold beer and one bourbon at the recommendation of the bar staff. Service, food, and drink were all great. read more

My wife and I were in St. Cloud to visit our grand daughter who attends St. Cloud State University and swims on the women's swim team. We were looking for a place for dinner when our grand daughter suggested Brick and Bourbon. We arrived early around 5:30pm and were seated immediately. Our server was very prompt and took our drink order. I was the only beer drinker and I ordered a FULTON, LONELY BLONDE (Blonde Ale). The others had water and a soft drink. I got my beer quickly, which tasted excellent!! I highly approve!! It did take what seemed like a long time to get our 2 burgers and a dinner salad. However we all agreed the food was excellent. The burgers were done to order and were seasoned perfectly. Each dish was plated very nicely and were attractive. The dinner salad was delicious my wife reported. I had a taste and agree! Our server was attentive without being overbearing or obnoxious. The noise level was fairly loud, but no louder than other place of this style. Some time has passed since we last visited this establishment. I am sorry to say this place has declined. Service was pushy almost rude. Server wanted a drink order before we had even settled in. Yet they didn't bother to ask if we wanted water, nor did they ever bring water, until we asked, which took awhile since the staff have perfected the art of avoiding eye contact. The bar was borderline bad. I ordered an Old Fashioned, I can't remember the last time I sent a drink back, but I did this day. The Old Fashioned was way too much sugar water and an orange peel. I sent it back requesting that remake it without their syrup. I also should point out that this was my 2nd choice. I wanted a Hendricks & Tonic, but I could not get cucumber to replace the lime. No cucumber at the bar, but they had it on my side salad. The other thing that annoyed me was everything, was delivered all at once no staging. The place was not that busy but that was the excuse. Food was mostly good, my only criticism was too much balsamic glaze on the Brussels sprouts they were lost in the sauce. I will rethink about returning maybe Sunday is bad day. read more

This was our first time to the one in St Cloud, & it was just as delicious as the one in Maple Grove. Ya just never know with the chains & different cooks, but it was just perfect here. The food & staff were great! You'll have lots of tap beers to choose from(my favorite), & other drink selections. One in particular I found very cool is their version of an Old Fashion. Not my drink of choice, but very cool how they make it. Have fun deciding on the menu items, but at least start with the Duck Wontons. So damn yummy! I chose Brick & Bourbon because it is the top rated restaurant in St Cloud according to Yelp, and now I know why! I was warmly greeted at the door on a Friday evening. With a myriad of interesting possibilities on the menu I chose ribs with mac and cheese. The ribs were absolutely falling apart they were so tender, with the perfect BBQ sauce. I licked my fingers when no one was looking, it was that good! The mac and cheese was sublime. The creamiest and cheesiest can only come from a carefully concocted roux. I ordered some Reuben soup to go for later, and that too was amazing. Though the food was fantastic, the highlight of the experience was my server Emily and her trainee, Ashley. I brought a group of SCSU students in to B Social Friday afternoon for a back to school gathering and some appetizers. No one greeted me when I entered. Was told we could not have food upstairs. Then we were literally yelled at by the bar tender when we were trying to find ourselves a table in the near empty restaurant. Finally I had to go find a server to place our order. I had to find the server to get water. And had to find the server a third time to get silverware. I'm so disappointed in our experience. I now understand why downtown St. Cloud is empty. We have been trying to get here for sooooo long! And we finally did it!!! We got the Duck Bacon Wontons and Wings (Roasted Garlic Sriracha rub) and both were fabulous!!!! The Duck Bacon wontons are just a tad sweet and o so savory! They are very rich but perfect with one of their bourbon cocktails! The wings are some of the best we have had in a very very very long time! The skin was crispy, the seasoning was perfect and evenly distributed but didn't over power the chicken. Staff was great! Super nice and attentive! I do wish they had "mocktail" choices... but at 9 months prego I can wait it out and we cannot wait to come back so I can enjoy their drink menu as much as my hubby was! Amazing food, decent drink selection, disappointing service. I've made two visits, and both times I had the vegan burger (one of the best I've had). The Buffalo Brussels are amazing. The mustard wings are tasty, but maybe slightly too sweet. The biggest problem is the subpar service. We waited too long to see a server, then too long to get drinks, and then so long to get food I had to ask the bartender to help us get an ETA. After we finished eating we had to wait again for too long to get our bill. It wasn't that busy and there were lots of staff, they just weren't attentive. read more

Tackling the Drunken Yoda first: As far as cocktails go this didn't hit the mark I was expecting; I was excited to get ice cream in a cocktail but the alcohol overpowered the sweetness of the mint chocolate chip and the balance just wasn't there. However, I did get the Lavender Mule (not shown) and it was one of the best cocktails I've ever had. The lavender wasn't overpowering subtle but there and the size was very good for the price ( a full drinking glass for $11) Duck and Bacon Wontons: I love me some wontons but they are usually oily little things that upset my stomach; on the flip side I'm not a fan of duck but I went on a whim here. Turns out it was a very good idea. These are lovely. Crunchy and salty and the sweet dipping sauce brings it all together, the duck isn't too gamey and I think I actually might like duck now the wonton shell wasn't too oily. It was pretty perfect. Chicken and Waffle Sliders, BBQ Ribs Mac and Cheese and fries: I don't get to have chicken and waffles very often in St. Cloud, I only know one other place that serves it and this far surpasses the other place. The sliders are not small, think half a burger size and just as tall if not taller. The chicken was crunchy, delicious, salty, perfectly cooked and juicy on the inside. The BBQ Ribs Mac and Cheese was also pretty delicious. The ribs fell off the bone the BBQ was subtly smokey sweet and the Mac and Cheese reminded me of a rustic cabin home with Grandma. Nostalgia bathed in thick creamy cheese sauce. The fries were subpar nothing to write home about, not too salty though so that's good. Firecracker Shrimp: I think I may have gotten the name wrong but it's another Shareable and should be in the first part of the menu. This shareable whole delicious and spicy had a weird blanaced to it. The flavors were great, don't get me wrong; the shrimp was lightly encased in tempura a slight crunch and then the fresh taste of juicy shrimp. Underneath you will find a bed of spicy wonton chips with radishes (I believe) and apple sticks thinky cut. Lemon on the side and Blu cheese crumble as well as a Blu cheese sauce. Everything together was pretty fantastic however I was saddened by the lack of shrimp compared to the amount of wonton chips. The shrimp was quickly eaten and the massive bed of chops were still there so my table started dipping the chips into the dipping sauce to reduce waste. I think either balance it out or put less wonton chips on the plate. All in all I have very few complaints. I don't like the thin napkin coasters, more shrimp or less chips and the one drink I had wasn't good. Decently priced for the amount of food and the quality. One of the best food places in St. Cloud. This is can be a date place as well as a casual dinner with friends with an extensive drink menu. Feel free to dress up or down here! Great atmosphere, cozy and warm, staff is friendly (maybe too friendly, we did get interrupted a little too much). Highly recommend. Enjoy! read more
